7:25 am
them that being hamas. >> julie: there is, of course, concern in any cease-fire especially when it's a bargain with terrorists that hamas could use the four-day period to gain ground on the war. how is israel handling that? obviously they'll cease-fire and there will be a truce for four days. we will not see any rockets being fired at each other at least in the air. what's happening underground could be an entirely different story. >> i would actually completely agree with you on that. what's happening underground is a completely different story versus what's happening in the air. and obviously the israeli government would never have agreed to this deal if it would put any more troops in danger or put the israeli military position in danger. you have to remember, this deal has been accepted with angst. the israeli public is somewhat split on this opinion. while we very much want every single hostage to come home as
7:26 am
soon as possible, we do not want to disrupt or walk back the progress that we've made over the last 40 plus days in our military campaign in gaza. so the only reason why this deal would have been accepted by the israelis it would put us in a position to regroup and allow hostages to be released safely without compromising our military campaign at this time. i think it is also very important to note that we have eyes on the ground and eyes in the sky to be able to monitor everything that's going on on the ground at this time. >> julie: i know israel definitely was reluctant to a deal like this but a lot of international pressure. the united states at the forefront and france and china to bring in aid. the exchange of prisoners for the exchange of hostages is such

an unbalanced number and the forefront of the minds of israelis. why do we get 150 palestinian prisoners for the release of just 50 hostages? seems like an unfair number. if i was the family member of a hostage of somebody being held hostage i would think why? why do they get 150 palestinian prisoners for only 50 hostages? >> i actually completely agree with you there. the math is not mapping. that's for sure. i want to go back to what you said earlier. i don't actually think the international pressure had anything to do with the accepting of this cease-fire. that's really important to note. we have seen over the last couple weeks how international community has forgotten the terrible, barbaric massacre of october 7th. as a result of that the israeli public has seen the modern
7:28 am
anti-semitism like it was in the 1920s and 30s and seen how quickly people have been able to forget. we always say never again. now the saying is never again is now. and it is a very disappointing thing to see not only the fact that now there is proof that the u.n., doctors without borders, the world health organization knew about the shifa hospital having hostages there and being used as a hamas terror base, which totally decries the condemnations that we have seen from the international community. there is only one word for it, total international hypocrisy given the fact the u.n. couldn't condemn the october 7th massacre. i believe the families of the hostages are one of the main reasons that the israeli government was willing to go and make this deal because you have to remember, the people that we know that are being released are
7:29 am
women and children. and if you saw what these barbaric animals did on october 7th to many of the women finding them, burning them, raping and abusing them, i can understand why the israeli government would work to at least get the women and children out especially the baby that was just born in captivity and the 9-month-old baby that was taken hostage. >> julie: it's awful. >> it's barbaric. the international community can never forget. >> griff: a new warning in time for the holiday shopping season. police say you need to be extra vigilant when withdrawing money from the bank or atm. new data on why young people are sticking with the parental units. that's coming up.

i have three in that age group between 32 and 22. so i always say at thanksgiving time the happiest day of the year is when they come and the second happiest day is when they leave, right? more and more often they aren't leaving but sleeping in the basement. that's a big problem because, you know, you have got -- the question, of course, is why is that happening? i think one of the factors, griff, is the cost of living has gone up. it is harder for young people to be able to pay their own bills. let's face it. when you've got prices that are 20% higher today than they were when trump left office, that's put a financial burden on a lot of young people. the other problem, griff, now this is kind of at the next stage. we want young people to start getting married and buying homes. but the cost of buying a home now, the cost of buying a home now is twice as much in terms of those mortgage payments. why is that? because guess what?
