released today from gaza. under the brokered and sustained, though intensive us diplomacy. she's now safely in israel and we continue to press and expect for additional americans will be released as well. and we will not stop working until every hostage is returned to their loved ones. as i said when i spoke about this deal on friday, this has been the product of a lot of hard work and weeks of personal engagement for me and my team. we have been in close contact with the leaders of qatar, egypt and israel, speaking with each one of them repeatedly over the past few weeks to help secure this deal. we spoke again yesterday with the emir of qatar. i owe special thanks to in order to keep the hostage release on track and push for abigail to be part of this release. and i'll be speaking again shortly with prime minister benjamin netanyahu. and we will continue to remain personally engaged, personally engaged to see that this deal is fully implemented and ws

fully implemented work to extend the deal as well. for weeks i've been advocating for a pause in the fighting for two purposes. to increase the assistance who need help to facilitate release of hostages. we know that innocent children and gaza are suffering greatly as well because this war that hamas has released has consequences. thousands have been killed from the earliest days of this crisis i have worked close to the president of egypt, king abdul of jordan and leaders to expand the manager and assistant to help innocent palestinians in need. were not part of hamas. what are the still fighting in gaza it's been pause for three days. over that time 58 hostages have been released including a tie, a filipino and a russian nationalist. dozens of families have been

reunited. we worked urgently, urgently to take advantage of the pause. two surge a's aid into gaza. we moved approximate 200 aid trucks into gaza each day. with the food, water, medicine, fuel, and cooking gas. more is needed. isees life saving results. and hostages are coming out. they're still structured so that can be extended to keep building on these results. that is my goal, that is our goal to keep the pause going beyond tomorrow so we can continue to see more hostages come out and search more humanitarian relief and to those in gaza. we see this as a date by day approach hour by hour approached raid nothing is guaranteed and nothing is been taken for granted. the proof that this is working and worth pursuing further is in every smile, every grateful tear we see on the faces of those families who are finally getting back together again.
9:03 am
the proof is little abigail. more than 20 other children 18 years and younger have been released they were released through this deal as well print they have endured a terrible ordeal they can now begin a long journey toward a great healing. going to continue working with the mayor of qatar, the president of egypt and prime minister netanyahu to do everything possible to seat the hostages are freed, all of them. i am grateful for the personal partnership because we reviewed this deal from each of those we mention. as we work together you see all of this implemented and now to try to extend it further. i will continue work with all of our partners to take the hard but necessary steps to build an integrated and more prosperous and peaceful future in the region. a two state solution is the only way to guarantee long-term security of israelis and palestinian people.

was asked about the other americans pretty member there five to eight other americans it still remained in captivity nail it to a been freed the president said he is hopeful but he has quote nothing firm to tell you. and then what was interesting at the very end he was talking about hamas buried the president paused and chose his words very carefully. he said his hamas is not a control of gaza he stopped short of using the same language waiver from the israeli government they went to see hamas complete the eradicated and killed. jonathan: interesting choice of words eradication is obviously different than it not in control but lucas very briefly on this e phone because honestly got coming up with a prime minister netanyahu very much sounds like the president is going to push for this pause going on longer print to get more hostages out. prime minister jon what is going to be concerned everyday apostate gives more time to reorganize itself going to be an interesting phone call.

there's no question about that person by what to see this continued many israeli citizens people around the world want to see this continue. they continued released up hostages date by day to keep the truce going. that's very different goals they want to see the hostage release of course. they want to see hamas eradicated. leaders killed but we learned days ago prime minister dispatch the cia overseas by mr. netanyahu is in a position because the pressure will be great from the united states and of course the president biden yields tremendous influence over the region. u.s. government has been supplying israel not only with weapons but a lot of cash. the big question is w will that aid be conditioned? that is what we will be seeing after the president's phone
