rain across much of texas through kansas, up into nebraska right now. get ready, that will turn into snow because we've got this storm, this is kind of the bulk of the energy, this storm that brought a lot of flooding into california and if southern is arizona yesterday. snow up in towards the rockies, and that snow's heavy at anytimes -- at times. will cause problems at airports frommal burr, over towards -- albuquerque, over towards denver. could be seeing delays, tomorrow that storm goes further off to the rees. mostly rain for minneapolis down towards new orleans and houston and dallas as well. that storm doesn't move very quickly, so monday we still have some snow across parts of the central plains, a little bit of an ice storm develop developing. christmas eve fore if disaster, santa's looking at this one. mostly a rainstorm across much of the central part of the country. all right. of guys,s back to you inside. will: thank you, rick.

[laughter] last minute, i saw somebody tweet in as a well when you last minute shop, you have, you end up with one of two e scenarios, you either end up in a drugstore, pharmacy, a cvs and it's something somebody just wants to take back, or you wildly overspend because of your guilt. one of those two things when you christmas nate. griff: i could be guilty of the last or. but it end benefits the recipient. it's good for them. minnie do you ever look under -- nicole: do you ever look as you're starting to put christmas presents together maybe i didn't get enough, and you do last minute buying? and you do end up overspending? will: of course.

here is what senator lindsey graham is calling war. he's called a lot of things war -- [laughter] but this time he's ready for war in defense of chick-fil-a. new york has said they're going to try to make chick-fil-a stay open on sundays. so senator lindsey graham said this is war, if this goes forward, i will withhold federal funds from any city or state that requires chick-fil-a to stay open on sunday. the foirnlsd made a decision early on to stay closed on sunday consistent with their religion. for any government to try to reverse this decision flies in the face of what we are. nicole: so this is what new york going to spend their effort on? i think there are other things that maybe they could work with on benefiting in new york city. i mean, this is a private company that should be able to do what they want. griff: thank god it's saturday so we can eat this chicken biscuit, but let me just tell you this -- will: and this is the thing on "fox & friends" weekend, we order business, and it's

chick-fil-a on saturdays. we can't have it on sunday. griff: do you always a get the bowl? will: always a get the bowl. fluff griff you've got to get the chick chicken biscuit to hold true with southern conditions, which is why this finder said, you know what? sunday is a day for res, sunday is a day for worship, to spend time with your with family, and i don't want my employees to have to, you know, do it. i think the slogan if you go to any restaurant they'll say it's about more than just chicken. that's the saying. and that's why heir closed on sunday ises. and here's -- who is new york -- who does new york think they are to say that a company founded on family values and principles has to reverse themselves? nicole: probably make more money if they were to stay open sundays, but it means more to their values to not be open on sundays. i don't understand why a government feels it should insert themselves into this situation. this is complete overreach of the government.

[laughter] nebraskany so -- nicole: so this is much less than 40% which was pre-covid times. so is this still a fallout from covid, or is there something else going on? >> well, we're beyond that, i think, nicole. it's this trifecta of pain, if you will. we we have the median price of a home now about 430 grand. interest rates are double what they were two years ago, so that makes mortgages crazy expensive, and inventory is low. so those three things combined mean that buyers, especially first-time buyers, those younger buyers, are really taking it on the chin right now. nicole: we're also seeing younger or buyers aren't necessarily going out and wanting to buy homes. they're living at home with their parents a little bit longer, they're liking to rent, have a lot of roommates. why the shift? >> well, i think what we're seeing is there's a reality that

has set in for a lot of younger buyers that even if they wanted to get out of their parents' basement, they can't afford it, right? let's make the best of a bad situation. full disclosure, i have four of those in my household, and one of them just recently bought a home, one of them's looking, and it's a tough market. the share of first-time buyers is bumping around toward historic lows. student loans the size of wyoming with, underemployment in some cases, high rates. all combined, it's tough for them to move away from mom and dad. nicole: thankfully we have finance gurus like you to give us some tips. so for anybody who's looking to get into the housing market 2024, what are your suggestions? >> be patient, be prepared. what i mean is you want to make sure you don't jump and kind of make a bad decision, but prepared. get your down payment together, get your prequalification for financing, all those things so you become a better buyer when the opportunity presents itself. put a larger down payment if you

can. i know it's tough especially for younger, younger buyers to save that down payment. do whatever you have to do. cut back on subscriptions, sell blood. i don't care, just make sure you can put down that larger down payment if possible. maybe a strategy is buy now p re-fi later. you buy now with a higher rate hoping that the rate dose down later -- goes down later, as it could in 2024, and you do a refinancing. and finally, nicole, you want to be avoid e being house rich, cash poor. it's no fun stretching yourself to the limit if you can't afford to heat it. nicole: those are all great tips, make a a lot of sense and, you know, hopefully people in 2024, we do have is an election coming up, so it's likely you'll see those interest rates coming down. so if you buy now, you could probably refinance by the smemplet thanks so much for joining us, dan. >> thanks a bunch. take care. nicole: well, still ahead, our 12 days of giving continues with the samaritan's purse and the good work that they are doing all around the world.

i think santa is looking pretty good. one system that we're watching, it's bringing right now some snow across areas of the rockies. there to you go, it stopped. now we can move on. temperatures, 39 degrees in denver right now and more snow moving towards the denver area today. 52 tomorrow, you really drop down a lot when the snow begins to fall. this is that storm that i'm talking about, big energy moving across the four corners has caused a lot of flooding the last two days into southern california, southern arizona. the next few days it moves across the country, but it moves really slowly. this is going to be a long-term storm that in some spots means we'll see 2-3 inches of rain, could see localized flooding across parts of the deep south. areas of nebraska through northern minnesota, that's where we have some snow, and by the time we get towards monday many, that potentially becomes an ice storm. monday, christmas day, it's tuesday eventually by the storm moves more towards the east coast, maybe even wednesday.

this is their national ambulance service. and they work all across the country. these will be going especially into some of these areas where it's very dangerous especially on the northern border of israel right now. and we're also replacing ambulances, 21 ambulances that we're giving to them. 14 of them were destroyed on the 7th of september when they -- excuse me, 7th of october when they came in and raided the country, hamas. and so it killed many of these ambulance drivers, so we're giving these bags, we're giving ambulances. so that's kind of what we're doing. and, griff, i'll tell you, the need there is tremendous. this war is going on and on and on. and the country is really suffering, and i know the people in gaza are suffering, and we pray for the innocent people there that are caught in the middle of all of this. but, you know, hamas could end this today if they would leave.

but they won't leave, and they're continuing to drag gaza further down and further down and further down. griff: you know, frank runs, i think the last time you and i were in person and i got to interview you was in ukraine. >> yeah. griff: that was just a year or so ago. and here you are answering the desperate if need in israel. and i've been with you in other places, as i mentioned, with you did just that. when people look around the world today and they the looked at just how horrific the atrocities in israel were and the war continues in ukraine and you look at our nation, so just torn apart politically in a partisan way we've e never seen, a lot of people really can find a way to lose hope. but you say there's no need for that. there is hope. >> no question, griff. and, you know, we come to christmas, and that's, that's where we are now, but christmas and easter, you can't separate them. finish jesus christ came can, he was born to save us from our
