till 2024 till the race for the white house is set to kick up into a near gear for new year. president biden's reelection campaign will step up events piping up for white house this christmas. record setting migrant surge at southern border. welcome to fox news live. aalicia. >> i'm brian. no time off for gop primary candidate this is holiday season the iowa caucuses front runner with early stocking stuffer and going to fast track former president trump's immunity claim in election interference claim. alicia: we begin with alexandria hoff live in washington with more on president biden's poll

numbers and messages. hi, alex. >> hay, alicia. the revving up of the biden-harris campaign is a release put out titled inside the maga plan to attack birth control, surveil women and ban birth control. president trump was mentioned elitedly making clear the effort was there and tieing the former president to the restrictive border policies and the biden team says the campaign will hit full steam by early summer and concerns over the president's age and performance can be easily countered by more direct engagement. >> that's us and is extremely good and excellent retail politician and him and the biden campaign. >> push for black and hispanic voters and on wednesday the president touted bidenomics in

11:05 am
and tucson, arizona, to cities like new york city? >> well, first of all, i want to say merry christmas and thank you to all the border patrol officers who are probably going to be working over the christmas holidays. it's a total disaster and continues to be a total disaster and it's getting worse. as you said, lukeville, arizona, port of entry has been closed now for awhile. there's hundreds if not thousands of miami people lined up there waiting to get processed by border patrol. there's -- they found ten ieds on the mexican side of the border by arizona. they arrested a guy with ak47 on the arizona side of the border. this is a huge crisis and biden is doing nothing. sending officials to mexico is not going to do a darn thing, and that's why republicans keep pushing for border security, re-enstating some of the policies that trump had that
11:06 am
worked. brian: yeah, talk about mexico. president of mexico said i'm willing to do something on the border but only if the united states is willing to open talks with cuba and send more aid to venezuela. what do you make of mexico's president here setting the terms of a negotiation with the united states right now? >> well, listen, president biden can't secure the border without dealing with mexico. i mean, if he wants to deal with mexico, fine. i think we should set the standards here in the united states. we need to install the hr2 bill that the republicans passed out of the u.s. house of representatives and it's sitting in the senate, schumer won't hear it, biden won't hear it, and that would re-instate the remain in mexico policy or other country while people are getting processed in the courts to hear their asylum claim. it also would continue building the wall and it also would raise
11:07 am
the standards for asylum claims. these things, if they were done, people would naturally stop coming. right now we have people from all over the world crossing into arizona. what did we have, like 24,000 chinese nationals that came last year. it's crazy. brian: well, let me ask you real quick about this bill, the senate is negotiates whether or not what they're going to include in the bill that would include money to ukraine and israel and funding for the border. what is the house willing to accept here from the senate because you're going to have to negotiate here on something. they're not going to pass hr2 from the senate side. is there anything that's a must have there? is it the asylum limitations? is it remain in mexico? what is the red line for you because there has to be a negotiation here? >> well, the house republicans passed a border security bill as you said, hr2, and we'll see what the senate offers because
11:08 am
so far they've not offered anything except saying they want to send more money to process more illegal immigrants to come into our country. well, that's not sufficient. let's see what they bring us back and i'll see if i support it then. we need to change the policies. it's not that difficult. it's not that did i have cull. all you have to do is raise the standards for asylum claims. make people wait in either their own country or a safe third country while their asylum claims are being processed instead of letting them into the united states and flying them all over the country. brian: with respect, you know it's difficult and it's the least productive congress in the last 115 years and you're not running again because you said washington is broken and you can't get anything done. >> it's become very partisan, and i have no idea why president biden and my democratic
11:09 am
colleagues don't want to secure the border. it makes absolutely no sense because it's a national security risk here in the united states, but it's also a humanitarian crisis for the illegal immigrants themselves and they're being with -- women and kids being raped and sold into sex slavery and it's a total disaster and i would love to work with my democratic colleagues and they're unwilling to do so and for whatever reason they want open border policies brian: are you getting colleagues to accept open border policies and you're going to need to come to an agreement with border policies and get agreement to accept sending money to ukraine and israel, you know, with the exchange of more border enforcement? >> i think we can get this done but border security has to be part of the solution. we should not be giving money to

other countries with a huge crisis on the southern border. my constituents are gnus outraged about the open border policies and they're afraid of who's coming into our country. heir not vetting the people properly because they can't. there's too many of them. it's got to stop and before we send money so other countries like ukraine the house passed money to go to israel and that's sitting in the senate. brian: we'll see what happen when is the senate comes up with their own deal with the works in january. arizona congresswoman debbie lesko, thank you for joining us today. >> thank you. alicia: the ground offensive continues in israel with deadly air strikes in north, south, and gaza today. the palestinian enclave and

however on the other side, in poll after poll, we see americans continue to say, it's still not working and we're still hurting. why this gap? >> it's strange and the president has ten monarchies to turn around the public perception of theically -- perception of the economy that's not there. he's responded to chief inflation, up 19% from before the pandemic. that's huge. and that's the total inflation and annualized inflation is running around 3% so a third of the peek of nine years ago and has to make it clear to the public that inflation was not part of biden economics and it
