border, economy, crime. crime is a big problem. there is an incident here to talk about. a christmas-day stabbing. this man said he wanted to kill all white people and stabbed two teens. two teenage girls, stabbed one so hard it punctured into her lung and the other into her thigh. he was just arrested for threatening to shoot people and got a deal for no jail time. i don't have the number, but in the teens. >> carley: he's been arrested 17 times. these teenage girls are sisters, enjoying breakfast with their parents. they are both from south america.

they were near grand central station, which is a safe area of new york city. you are a teen, with your parents on christmas day, what could go wrong? then this crazy guy comes up stabbing while screaming, i want to kill all white people. >> griff: why was he out and able to do that? we have a quote from the previous victim telling "new york post" this, they should not have let him out of jail, i don't believe it. he pulled a gun on me and said, i don't care what kind of green card you have. he told me the cops don't do blank and what he said was true, he was telling me, why are you working for white people, he

children asleep in their beds. the bullet went through the bedroom wall hitting kendall, who joins us now. tell us what happened. >> i was asleep in my bed and we just heard a really loud noise and same time my husband sat up and was like, holy crap, did you hear that. i grabbed my arm and i was like, i just got shot, call 911. it was confusing, had no idea where the bullet came from. he got our weapon and i asked him to look under the bed, it

seemed like somebody shot me from under the bed. we were going through every scenario in our head. he checked under the bed for me. i clicked that it must have came from our kids' room and i asked him to check on the girls. by that time, the first responders were there. they were there within like 60 seconds and got me in the blans and took me to the hospital. the staff was amazing. they did x-rays and told me the bullet was in my arm and my hum rus was broken.

>> griff: they left the bullet in your arm? >> they did. with being pregnant and the way my arm broke, they did not believe it was necessary surgery at that moment, to put me under anesthesia would be a risk to the baby. they did tell me to leave it, let my bone heal and they will make an incision to remove it in a few months. >> griff: danny, what is your reaction? you wake up from the shot and realize kendall has been shot. >> yeah, it is not something you can expect. i heard the gunshots. it is not a rarity, we have heard them, this was different, much louder.

there was a large crack in the room and that woke me up. when i woke up, you are waking up from a dead sleep to kendall being like, i just got shot. trying to get your bearings what is happening at the moment. we were able to establish that, i noticed she was not bleeding profusely, i was able to check on the kids and make sure nobody was in the house. it is not something you can prepare for. >> griff: no. do either of you have any idea where the bullets came from? >> at the moment, no. we were looking everywhere. then once we figured it had come

>> fox weather alert as we are tracking two storms across the country. the first storm, a blizzard across the central part of the country over the last couple of days. nebraska and the dakotas. temperatures are down around freezing. winds gusting to 30 miles-per-hour. yesterday the winds were 60 to 70. this system is winding down and we begin to look at the next impactful weather system on the east coast. showers across the carolinas, portions of the midwest, great lakes and mid-atlantic and seeing light showers. that will linger for a couple of days. if you're up to new york rounds of showers the next 48 hours that could bring a slight chance of flooding. those are with weather headlines. tossing it back to you, joey. >> here are the top that's near and dear to my heart college

playoff of 12 teams going into next year. what's the real effect of expanding to a 12-team playoff? >> in a moment where the college sports are losing grip on notions of amateur and student athlete they found a way to back up the brinks truck and fire up the money printing machine. expanded playoff scheme will do nothing but make more money. remember, they are already getting $470 million a year just from media rights alone. if we expand it from four teams to 12 or beyond as the talk is laying up, this is going to be billions of dollars for the ncaa. the question is at what risk to the athletes, right? if you are an nfl prospect the notion of playing three more games is not that exciting. it really isn't. the probability of injury increases exponentially at the end of the season given the wear and tear and miles on the tires. the players aren't as excited about it.
