>> another state is ruling on former president donald trump eligibility to be on ballot in 2024. michigan supreme court has rejected appeal base coming just days after colorado supreme court made the decision to bar the president from the ballot. michigan supreme court argues there is no legal ground and the colorado ruling does not change that. significantly colorado election law differ from michigan laws in material way directly relevant to why the appellates are not entitled to the presidential primary election in michigan. we will go now to chad pergram who will explain all this in

washington. chad, to you. >> the michigan supreme court upheld decision by lower court, the court held does not give election official leeway to judge eligibility of candidates for the ballot. president trump called it a gambut to rig the election. michigan is more important than colorado in 2024. it is a swing state. michigan could determine the presidential election. michigan was close in 2020, president biden beat president trump by 85,000 votes, but many in the muslim community are upset with president biden. it was imposed on confederates after the civil war. >> molly: great point, chad

pergram, your insight proosht appreciated. tammy, the efforts have largely been unsuccessful across the country. your thoughts on what hammed in michigan and colorado? >> tammy: colorado, there have have to be a statement about what is appropriate. with the state elections effectively, presidential election, electors, it is a federal resort and federal government has interest in how to works. i think for colorado, newsom stopped effort in california to do the same thing. most people are realizing that was an inappropriate thing to do for colorado law. he is an insurrectionist. you don't declare someone guilty of a crime. he's never been tried or

convicted on that. people see this for what it is. we want people to trust the end result of an election. democrats never think about the next day, who will rep the result of that kind of election. that is what the judiciary can consider. this is why the supreme court has to made a statement about nationalized attitude about what you can do in this regard based on national constitution and allowing states to have leeway. this is not for state office or local office, if is federal position. this will get cleared up, americans don't like this. we are seeing what justices are willing to do and want stability and continuity and that is what supreme court will give us.

>> molly: two teenage girls are recovering from stab wounded after they were randomly attacked by a homeless man. they were stabbed while enjoying a meal within grand central terminal. he yelled, i want all the whieth people dead. hutcherson is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder. we are learning more about hutcherson's long criminal history. one former victim told the "new york post" he shouldn't have been on the streets allah.

he was arrested and pled guilty to third-degree assault, but a judge cut him loose. you have people in the city, young people having a good time, christmas time. this is a good example, a lot is new york centered, this is representation of what can manifest in other cities. his one victim said they should not have let him out of jail, judges are letting them go and moving to misdemeanors, and now two girls could have been killed, thank god they got out alive. >> kaylee: new york is failing to adequately help people who are severely mentally ill. remember the jordan neeley

situation. and there was a homeless man who could be released if doctors deem him medically fit. that man who pushed the young woman in front of the subway, his sister was begging officials to institutional him. new york officials refuse to do what is necessary and it is under guise of compassion. they think it is compassionate to give these people freedom, but it is a threat to public safety and it is wrong. >> tammy: it is. if you go through the system, you are recognized as being mentally ill and you will get a break. one of his crime is going into the bergdorf and smashing cases.

what is going on here? >> dr. saphier: the writing is on the wall, this gentlemen was arrested 17 times. last time he was threatening to kill someone and he had a knife. he had a conditional discharge. maybe the conditional issues were drug abuse treatment, but who is following up on this. there are always signs leading up to it, randomly were there no signs. what point do we hold accountable da's and judges that let these people off to continue to reek havoc. they could have died, he stabbed this 16 year old in the back. what about daniel penny?
