data came out this week showed 20,000 more democrats switching to republicans in pennsylvania than republicans switching to democrats: 35,000 democrats in pennsylvania have now registered as republicans going into this election cycle. only 15 going that way. a 20,000 voter gain for republicans in pennsylvania. and they put out a statement pointing out scranton. so, there understand that and i guess they are trying to appeal or maybe they are just that tone deaf. >> i have been trying to understand why john fetterman has been saying the things he is saying. >> joey: i hadn't thought of that. >> rachel: that's an interesting connection there. there is sort of this idea it's almost like 1948 where they are beaming. you are happy. you are happy. your prices are lower. life is better under biden. but you are like but it's not. i go to the grocery store -- i went to the grocery store not yesterday but the day before so i could buy everything that i wanted to have yesterday when my -- we were going to have our

little new year's eve dinner with my family. i was sick to my stomach going through the line. i was buying for basically one meal and a few things here and there i might need during the week and my bill was so high and i was freaking out. in fact, i wanted to get a responsible by. and i just couldn't bring myself to do it. because there was another kind of steak that was on sale and i just was like i can't -- people are having to make all kinds of choices and they are like, things they might splurge on even on new year's eve, i can't do it. my bill is just too high. >> griff: there is an old saying in politics, if you grab them by their pocketbooks their hearts and minds will follow. if you treat them poorly with their pocketbook they will kick you out of office. that is what they're up against right now. because, the feds target is always about 2%. trump did a pretty good job keeping there. obviously it rose to 9% over 9%

like june of 2022. and he has, in fairness to biden, he has brought it back down. it's not effecting things like going shopping at the grocery store that you did. gas prices are down but they are still costing people an an arm and leg. >> rachel: there is war on energy. >> griff: that's right. ultimately as we start off heading down towards another election. iowa caucuses coming up. people are not feeling confident in their pocketbook. and there is really nothing on the horizon that this administration is saying they are going to do that's going to shift that. that's going to change that. other than just keep telling you are happy. it's like that -- remember vacation, the t-shirt forced family fun like you are -- technically you are on that summer vacation. if you are not having fun, you're not having fun. >> rachel: yeah. great analogy. >> joey: what people are looking to purchase or spend their money on or what is inflated. for example, homes and vehicles. those are two things that just about every family in a cycle of

a year otwo either sells or buys. that's something we do in america. we can live there how we want and get there how we want. i can get almost out of the truck i own made in 2019 what i paid for it. but i'm still spending twice as much as did i in 2019 to replace it. people have found themselves in this place where it all doesn't make sense. the math doesn't add up. can you get twice a as much out of hour home but pay twice as everywhere for a home to move into. people don't want to sell their vehicle. the used car market isn't there. even though they can get more money they don't have the money to replace it. >> griff: i have a truck with a side view mirrors and dent all over it. i love that truck. we will see. meanwhile, coming up. fox news alert. nine reportedly hurt with one in critical condition after a vehicle plowed through a crowd in new york city. we have more on that coming up.

>> griff: worry back with a fox news alert. multiple in the hospital police officer after a man plowed through new york city streets in suv overnight. police initially responding to a dispute involving a suspect near penn station and manhattan before that 44-year-old man took off in his vehicle. the suspect striking dozens of cars including handful of police vehicles as he tried to evade authorities. he was arrested a few blocks away. charges filed and no word on the total number of people hurt. we will bring you more as we get it. now to a fox weather alert. a 7.6 magnitude earthquake

striking off the northwestern coast of japan earlier today sparking tsunami warnings and evacuations. fire believed to be related to the quakes as well as other damage. the shocks being felt as far as away as tokyo. no official reports yet on deaths and injuries. tsunami warnings have also been issued in north korea and parts of russia. let's check in now with meteorologist adam klotz what's the weather look like. >> this is not relate to the tsunami warnings you were talking about. folks on the west coast know there have been really high surf active waves over the last several days across portions of california. we still have some of those issues looking at high surf advisories and warnings across southern california with waives getting up to around 10 to 15 feet in some locations. they were as high as 20, 25 feet. this was really active as can you tell things have calmed down

keep our eye on is the idea in '24, rogue governments that have, for example, access to nuclear weapons. a.i. could be that response mechanism. instead of human beings that could potentially launch a war. so, what we're doing in this country is kind of like a band-aid to a.i. but, in terms of what you and i need to focus in on for '24, yeah, we learned that it could take our jobs. that's true. but, this is the year to say how can i use a.i. to understand how it's going to do that and stop it and instead you be the boss of a.i.? so understand, you know, whether you want to embrace a.i. or not in '24, it's gonna come. it's coming it your life. it's touching our lives, i mean, in so many ways we don't even realize yet. so, what we need to do now is say okay, i'm just going to be open to understand it. whether i want to embrace it or not, it's really gonna put you

in the power driver's seat in '24 to just know how it's ticking. know how it touches us along the way and see how can i understand that better to either keep it in the safe space away from me or use it to make my job better, to actually get aa raise instead of being replaced by it. >> joey: there is articles out talking to business leaders. they are putting their prediction out how they can use a.i. in their business. a lot of people in that position. is a.i. going -- through automation, take my job away from me? is it going to do my skill set better than i can do? i think for a lot of people they need to understand that it's not the automation will take their job but they are learning to use the automation as opposed to doing the skill set. >> kurt: a.i. could replace our jobs in the workplace and the bosses are thinking oh wow i'm going to save some money here and maybe even deliver a better product to the world. what could you do as an american
