they are upset with stuff that's happening. a lot of folks living paycheck to paycheck. i talked to a lady yesterday that retired and now she is having to come out of retirement because she just can't make enough money to buy and provide for her family. so, similar stories here today. when i polled them and i started talking with folks, the indication today is they feel like donald trump is gonna pull it out today. a show of hands, who thinks nikki haley is going to win today? and who thinks donald trump is going to win today? cycle. i want to bring this up. interesting to see nikki haley sprint with at least five different events yesterday. donald trump thought he had a court case. they canceled it. postponed until wednesday. so he had one event scecketsdz at night. yesterday he brought in his former opponents who are now allies to say they are now on board the trump train and listen to how they introduced him and let him know how they felt about the former president, watch. >> tomorrow is the day that each and every one of you is going to cast the most important vote of your entire life. this is a very, very important vote. when you step into that voting booth, you are going to be signaling that we want crooked joe biden, the worst president in the history of our country, we got get him out. >> if you want to make america great again, vote trump.

>> brian: two strong candidates. lawrence, behind the scenes you see byron by -- i put a fight . the better man won. and i'm on the -- i'm on board. >> lawrence: yeah, brian. it's really about not just the surrogates but where the energy is in the movement. i think it's so hard for these candidates that typically would have gotten so much traction from average republican voters but when you look at the rooms that i go into every single day, the diners or whether it's the rallies or the people that are standing in the cold when the temperature is below 15, because they just want to see the man or try to have some type of interaction. that type of movement is hard to beat. but, again, things can change on election day.

there can be people that show up. there can be this secret voter. but, as i always say, when the diners and people on the ground, if it's consistent with the polling, then i don't really look forward to upsets. because it's consistent. if it's inconsistent maybe something can happen. right now it looks like it's heading toward the former president right now, steve. >> good point, lawrence, regarding the pollings. but the polls are for the most part registered republicans. what is unique about new hampshire is the fact -- and i mentioned this a couple times yesterday -- you have got 300,000 republicans, 300,000 democrats. but 400,000 independents or undeclared. with the undeclareds, nikki haley leads but the problem with undeclareds is they are less motivated. and so one of the koch brothers organizations, what they are doing is they are -- they are working out on behalf nikki

haley. they have already knocked on 630,000 doors here in new hampshire. they are trying to get 20,000 people to vote who vote in the general but don't vote in the primary. so that's the key. that's the margin. they want to find 20,000 people who go to vote in november every time but never vote today. they want to get them to vote today. >> ainsley: trump has to keep that frontrunner status. >> nikki haley is trying to get those independents and people not necessarily the maga trumpers. new hampshire voters, it's very suburban here. it's less evangelically conservative: voters registered as undeclared can vote in new hampshire primary, republican primary. nikki haley did see a spike in her campaign in donations after ron desantis dropped out. she saw a spike of 500,000 from grassroots corners online. she was campaigning across the state yesterday, vowing she is in this for the long haul she will be on our show today.

we will ask her about that. if donald trump does win today here, so he wins iowa, if he wins new hampshire and the polls are right. what does that mean for her going forward? it. >> brian: president picked up the catholic vote yesterday. major catholic organization signed on with him. last night i had a chance to do something different. that wasn't really sitting down one-on-one with a blasting long form interview like did you, lawrence. i wanted to get a slice of life on someone who has run for president his third time. first things first how he landed in 40 minutes from new york, laguardia and then landed in portsmouth, new hampshire on route to laconia last night. when he landed he let us on board before he took off and prepared for his speech. here's a preview. >> brian: we got the flat screen behind you beautiful couch steve. >> we do. flat screen mind. this is the area, more or less

and people just say it's so dramatically different than 2016. because 2016 they had this momentum but they were kind of winging it. he became president. and all of a sudden they feel like they got it down. >> steve: i was here in 2016. he had one vehicle and there was somebody else. the other car breyer is entourage when he won on primary night 8 years ago. it was him and his family, the entire entourage. a big victory party over at the best western. >> ainsley: we were covering his campaign the first time he ran. we were at one of his rallies. he said come on my plane, come take a look. i walked on with our staff we are like this looks like a delta plane that's just been gutted and beautiful furniture in there. >> steve: looks great. >> ainsley: living room is massive. you can't tell. >> steve: bigger than a lot of people's houses. it's lovely. that whole tour is coming up

flooding as severe weather hits the southeast. let's check in janice dean for fox weather forecast. hi, janice. >> janice: lots going on. look at it. potential for freezing rain and ice across portions of the ohio valley and great lakes. heavy rain threat for the southern u.s. the southern plains. as we zoom, in you can see the potential here, we is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect for central texas and then that heavy rain in rounds coming today and tomorrow and thursday and friday. some areas could easily get 5 to 8 inches. so flooding is going to be a big concern on the silver lining side of this, they need the rain. >> we need to fill up some of those reservoirs. here is your forecast today. watching that storm system develop across the plain states, we still have the risk for the severe weather and the potential for icing across the ohio valley in towards the northeast and the great lakes. florida, you are getting wet today and another round of rain for california. so, very busy pattern. look at the temperature change.

night president trump was back in november of 2016. and i feel like private sector is calling me. >> ainsley: you were very successful in the private sector became governor and served the people. now you are towering about going back in the private sector. what if he offers you a cabinet position or vice president? >> as you saw the president has been very flattering saying the things is he doing. that's all hypothetical and premature. we got to help the president win a big election today here in new hampshire. i think he has a tough election in the fall to win in the fall that's very possible again because if you have got a choice between the energy policies of joe biden, which are favoring foreign dictators in china vs. an american first policy. again, if somebody is listening that cares about the environment. you should want -- we are a huge energy state. you should every want every ounce produced in your state we bruise prosecute cleaner and safer than anyone. when we export it we are hurting the environment.

be talking about the drugs that are pouring across the border. the interesting thing is, in the last election, when you talk about iowa, we were just at the caucuses, i was really surprised that immigrationenned n. a place like iowa became the number one issue. the question is for new hampshire, as we start to get the exit polling and all that data, will it be the number one issue here in new hampshire as well? and it just shows you, and we always say this all the time. every state is a border state because of the fentanyl, because of the drugs that are impacting everyone. and it's poison. you got these kids dropping dead. grownups dropping dead because they're experimenting with something they think they are getting a xanax but it's really laced with fentanyl. >> steve: right. we are here in new hampshire. this actually is a border state. a northern border state. with canada right there. here's the thing. we know exactly why people are coming in. because this administration made a decision on day one, you know what? we're going to kind of -- we're goods to losing the requirements

for asylum. >> brian: reverse everything trump did. >> steve: for the most part, everybody who comes to our door can just say something. they all know whether a to say thanks to the cartel. we are going to let them in and adjudicated and some people are getting a court date five years, 10 years from when they walk across the border. we know how to fix it. just make it more complicated to take that step across the country. and, yet, yesterday, the vice president of the united states pretends that, look, this is all congress' problem. it's not all congress' problem. you know, they have tried for decades to come up with comprehensive immigration reform. every administration get to decide how to enforce it. xi says their hands are tied. watch. >> well, so, there's no question that our immigration system is broken, but, sadly, people on the other side of the aisle have been playing politics with this

issue. the solutions are at hand, and -- you know, gone are the days, sadly, where a president bush or john mccain understood that we should have a bipartisan approach to fixing this problem, which is a long-standing problem. the solution includes putting resources at the border to do what we can to process people effectively and putting in place actually allow for a meaningful pathway to citizenship. >> ainsley: that's just jargon. the solution is to close the border. put up whatever you have to put up down there, a wall, more of the barbed wire, whatever you have to do to protect our border to protected our children. those of us who have kids worry about this. you worry that your child is going to go college and one student, they are going to be stay tuned one night and take a pill that they don't know what is in it, maybe they were injured on the football field and their back is killing them and take a pill that they bought online.

we are all concerned about this. whether we were younger we did things that our parents told us not to do. that can happen countless times. and i know personally three our four people out of south carolina area. we interviewed hundreds of them that have lost their kids to this and the holidays are so hard. we check on them and we send them text messages. the harvard-harris poll says immigration is the number one issue. fatal drug overdoses here in new hampshire are increasing faster than the rest of the country. in 2022, 486 people died of overdoses in new hampshire. that's a 14% increase. a 14% increase from the year before. 80% of those deaths were fentanyl, lawrence. or brian, sorry, it's brian's turn. >> brian: go ahead, lawrence. >> lawrence: no, no; brian. i think it's just an embarrassment. i don't know what the vice president was talking about that mumbo jumbo. and then the supreme court who i was very disappointed with yesterday. my state is being invaded by people we don't know where they are coming from now they say
