that nikki haily has got to push for debates, and if you look at the polls, she has messages that says i can go after donald trump successfully, his lawsuits, his status, his age. >> but she's going to have to win a primary at some point. >> no. i'm saying she's going to have to push and say if you want to win those reagan democrats, you're going to have to make an effort to stand out. >> thank you for joining us for the new hampshire primary. >> coverage continues next. good night from bedford. great to have you all here. we'll see you back in new york in washington in the coming days. >> get ready. this is haerk's late news,
9:01 pm
a primary edition of fox news at night. and breaking tonight, the former president now two for two, winning both iowa and anew hampshire, and no candidate has ever won both without also winning the nomination, and yet nikki haley says new hampshire is the start and not the finish, vowing to keep the campaign running, and to her credit, she beat expectations coming in about ten points of donald trump. we're live in bedford, is newhalfshire on how the president reacted. >> we headed back her to bedford to give a recap, but the president wusurrounded by lots of supports and chanting make america great again. het thought he had it it when we have talked to him on the ground at a polling location
9:02 pm
and called for nikki haley to drop out. watch. >> i want to thank everybody. this is fantastic state. this is a great state. you know we've won new hampshire three times now a, three. we win it it every time. we win the primary. we win the generals. we've won it, and it's a very, very special place to mech had. >> this race is far from over. there are dozens of states left to go. and the next one is my sweet state of south carolina. and now we're the last one standing next to donald trump. >> and that's what she wanted this entire time, right? she wanted a two-person race here in new hampshire, rather. pthat's what she got, and you saw what happened tonight with the polls here. you saw daunl trump was not only able to pull
9:03 pm
out a win here but in the granite state. it was all about the retail politics for her team. they say they had the momentum and money to keep on going with more donations flowing in. but how confidant was trump? well, he's talking about presidential picks. both candidate were here tonight. watch. >> so is it going to be vice president tim scott? >> it's going to be tim scott working on behalf of the american people? that means donald trump. i don't think myself or the individuals. let's think about america first. >> so nobody will say. you want to be the vp, but one thing we know for sure, is that they will do you not support the president on the former ground, and it does help, when we were in that room, people were cheering and excited to see tim scott. so we'll have to see how it plays out here as they continue to push. >> we will. alexus live for us
9:04 pm
on the campaign trail. alexis. thank you. let's bring in steve hilton, and kelly and deputy strategic communications director, and so thank you all for coming on. steve hilton is ready. we'll play some sound for you. here is nikki haley tonight. watch, and we'll get steve p's reaction. >> at one point in this campaign, there were 14 of us running. and we weret at 2% in the polls. well, i'm a fighter. and i'm scrappy. and now we're the last ones standing next to donald trump. >> like alexis said, she says her campaign believes she has money and momentum to keep going. you don't think that way? >> no. let's just review the
9:05 pm
night. i want to use the word stunning in relation to both candidate, so donald trump, this was a stunning victory for him. this was the state that was all the republican primary states, the worst in the whole country for donald trump. and he wins a majority. he wins over 50%, and it it looks like daubl-digitt victory over nikki haley. and thenioalook at haley, and this is exactly what she and the republican establishment dreams of. and she is defeated by double digits. but the worst thing was that speech. she speaks stunningly bad judgement. let's think about the situation she's in. she wants to go to south carolina, a state she's miles behind donald trump currently, 20, 30, 40 points behind donald trump. she needs to persuade republicans who support trump to switch to her. so what does she do in that speech tonight? attack donald
9:06 pm
trump more aggressively than she's done before. it is stunningly bad judgement. it makes me think she knows she's going to lose. she's not interested in winning votes. she's got something else going on. maybe her head has been turned by all of the media adulation. it's impossible to understand what she's trying to do with that speemp tonight. >> do you think steve hilton has got a point there? because nikki says she's staying through south carolina. she's way down in south carolina. it's 31 days away. that's a lot of kind of, you know, money and donors thinking what's going on here. >> absolutely. steve is spot on. when nikki took the stage tonight, it was not a speech that the american people needed to hear. we really heed the to take this time and come together because they've spoken. they've spoken loud and clear in iowa, with when they voted for president trump,
9:07 pm
they did it again in new hampshire, and he's won in the primary before. so it's though surprise they came back out for him. and one thing i want to remind people, the republican base is maga, but drauchbld's base smore than maga. it has been more since 2015. so you'll see a lot of candidates following them to president trump. >> yeah. i think that's an interesting take. i want to play this sound byte. this is the media reacts to the trump speech, and i'll get kelly's take on this. this is a little bit of msnbc and then cnn, and we'll see if you agree with this. watch. >> one of the things that's interesting about donald trump's performance this evening is that he's mad. he's angry. that was not a celebratory trump. he's mad that nikki haley is still in the race. last time it was more gracious and thank you.
9:08 pm
i'm glad we saw that because it's this incoherence and the register he's at at all times. >> i think it's both back takes. he's still in a fight. he's still in a fight, so you go after your competitor because you're still in the fight. it has nothing to do with you're angry but you're competitive. >> and you want to win. that's definitely key. we have to look at this. trump may have won, but we have to think about the fact that nikki haley beat him when it it came to moderates in new hampshire and college education of people who have that education level. and when he was in the primary before, he had a much higher percentage than he did this time. so he definitely did come across as being a bit angry. >> steve, do you find that? because i was watching the speech tonight, and it wasn't last week's speech where he was
9:09 pm
complimenting ron and the rest of them because he beat them rety soundly. did he seem angry tonight? >> no. if you watch the whole speech. he was joking and relaxed. he was classic trump. the most angry person on the stage was nikki haley. but she made out it was she who made the brilliant speech and trump was angry. if you look at the difference between them, she went first. i was looking at it with friends and thought awow. she's going to concede because the way she started off, that was the direction it it went. and suddenly she took this turn into attacking trump. it was a mass ive take. trump then came and had to respond to that. i think if you looked at the totality of his speech, it was entertaining and pretty gracious and the usual trump we get. and it looked like the sign of a very confidant president trump.
9:10 pm
>> nikki haley said it's time to put chaos behind us. listen to her.. >> for a lot of people, it's way too personal. it's not person for me. i voted for trump twice. i was proud to serve america in his cabinet. i agree with many of his policies. i decided to run because i'm worried about the future of our country, and it's time to put the negativity and chaos behind us. >> but a lot of trump supports will say the chaos is coming from a lot of the democrats, indictments and russian collusion. you name it it. and they're the ones getting up the impeachments, et cetera. what do you think of that? >> yeah. it's unfortunate to see her taking page out of their playbook to talk about
9:11 pm
president trump being a liar. that was a new one, her claiming he was the one causing destruction and he can't lead haerk to victory. all of those things are words you hear from radical left and the media like cnn that is going on-air all evening saying trump lookss acangry, which like you said is not true. he was very confidant on stage tonight. he was having a great time. he invited multiple people behind him to take a victory lap because he is a team player and in it for the american people. nikki haley was corrected about one thing, and that's when she said it was a 2-player race. unfortunately, she had the wrong two people in mind. it's not her. it's president trump and joe biden. >> and if you look at the map of the primaries, it looks bad. i mean, the map is pad. her team has to say the map is bad. you're not ahead in any of
9:12 pm
these states. in fact, you're way behind, and here we go. >> right. but as she said it's the first one. it's just getting started, and she said she's a fighter. she's a scrapper, and she's going to be in it it to win it it, enomatter what outcome it is. >> steve, your final thoughts on this, because she does look bad? >> i would ask kelly but really nikki haley tell us the state you win, you have the best chance with new hampshire and you lost. >> what's the path? >> whatever they want to say it is over. donald trump is going to be the nominee, and i just don't understand why nikki haley can't follow in the footsteps of those candidates all about winning the election and against joe biden. so i can't understand why she can't get that point because for the sake of the country she goes on about how important it is. so
9:13 pm
let's go together and beat joe biden. >> i'm in the room, and she says it's just the beginning. it's just the beginning. it's not the end. my question is tell me the path, and let's all had jump on board. governor, thank you afor coming on tonight. we saw you last week in iowa. quibblingly i want to find out how is the basketball leg because last time you rolled in on the scooter with that bad basketball leg. so i want to make sure how it is before we current? >> well, i hit my achilles and haven't been invaded back on the basketball court. thank you for asking. it's doing good. i was on stage with president trump in a rally and excited to see him have that big win in new hampshire tonight. >> it it really is. you say the primary is over. for all
9:14 pm
intensesive purpose, it the primary is over, but nikki haley says she is vowing to keep going. what do you think about her forging on? >> well, they know the campaigns when they run out of money, and nikki has a set of donors that would like to see her continue to have conflict between republican candidates, you know, put all of our focus on beating joe biden. if any of us ran for president, we all have one thing in common. we have to beat joe biden. we have to puuta republican in the it white house. the people have spoken. president trump with the wins and new in new hampshire. and it was said by steve hilton prior in the show, show uta state she's going to win. so if we can focus on how joe has been a disaster, that's better for our country to talk about that. >> now, governor, i want to see
9:15 pm
if you can square these two things. i can't figure out the nexus and maybe you can. the it fox news voter analysis. this is what the question is. trump too extreme to win the general election? and it's split down the middle almost yes, 49% and no 51%. and if you would like to see change, no change 2%, and complete and total up heaveal, 29%. that's 73% that want massive change and yet they think the former president is too extreme. what do you think about those numbers? it's clearly an appetite for something different? >> well, new hampshire is a unique voting environment where you have 40% of the elective is independent. that means people who are moderate but people who would lean left. those people might vote for joe biden in the fall, but in the primary,
9:16 pm
they're voting as never-trumpers. and so if you've got a 50/50 voter tonight where 70 plus of the team identify as a republican supporting trump, so trump winning wildlyb in what was the actual republican primary. and then splitting the votes between these two groups, that's what they are saying is too extreme. but they want the same thick. they want to have an up heaveal in government. this is why it's much larmer than people realize. the average american is fed up with the way people are running the country. >> i've got to go. do you know who the president and vice president is going to be? >> i don't, but president trump will choose an excellent vice president at the time of his choosing. right now we've got toue thite the country and win back the white house. >> governor, best of luck to you. thank you, sir. we appreciate your time.
9:17 pm
>> thank you. former president trump taces a host of legal complications. we're live with a closer look at all the important timeline stuff on this, bill. >> donald trump opportunities rack up these wins in the gop primary, he's having to deal with a list of criminal and civil cases all at the same time, cases he says are politically motivated and meant to interfere with his campaign. here is what trump's upcoming schedule looks like. he won the gop tonight and got the causk s on february 8th, and primaries in late february, and trials and entitlement on march 4th. the following day, super tuesday, he's going to wrap up the montht of march in the new york state criminal hush money case. after his win tonight, trump says the country is literally on the line. >> we are going to win this. we have no choice. if we don't win, i think our country is
9:18 pm
finished. >> and tomorrow, trump's defamation trial in the carol case will resume in new york city. his court dates have been piling up as this pick s up steam. trump has spent 15 edays cam page in new hampshire and 13 days in new york dealing with his defamation and civil fraud trials. >> i want to go to all of my trials. these are all again set up by biden and it the democrats. this is their new form of cheating. >> and earlier today, a federal appeals court in dc rejected donald trump's request to reconsider what he can say about his criminal case related to the aftermath of the 2020 election. essentially, it's a gag order. the appeals court today lightly held up that gag order, and it could go to the supreme court. let's bring in deagainst supporter and federal litigator vic. good to have you on.
9:19 pm
which describes your view of charges against the president. le jitimate 33%, politically biased, 66%. that's a big number. more than 2 to 1 believes he's getting a rotten deal on this. and that's how this whole thing is going. >> it really is like a trial, this entire election process and where donald trump is now. all of these opening statements and salacious, buyoff, payoffs, hiding documents in all of these things that we've seen, rico conspearancies. dmou the jury is sworn in, and the partiess are making their argument. they're saying this is our evidence. and the jury is look at it and saying i can't wait to make my final decision because this doesn't hold water. the it closing arguments will be just before the election,b and the election will be when the verdict comes in. but you can't cry wolf every time based on the same
9:20 pm
effects and have an audience believe what you're saying. >> yeah. it's a very good anology. we asked how confidant are you in the legal system. not at all confidant, 54%. that's the majority saying they're not confidant. for a person who is in this field, what do you think of that, vick? >> yes. thank you. i do have the privilege of going around the country and trying cases. it should have been the question of do you have faith in the jury system. the legal system includes district attorneys, appointed officials, united states attorneys and attorney generals. you take them out of the equation where they may be politically supported, the jury system works. they never get it wrong at least on my watch and my trials. however, i will say when the political component is in there, those numbers make sense. you just can't trust
9:21 pm
the motivation. >> as you look at the trials, is there any chance some of these things go to trial before november 5th? i mean, are we going to have these things settled or decided, or will they be pushed? >> nothing consequench canal. maybe the civil cases have some amount of damages awarded, things of that to nature. nothing that can stand in the way of trump and his presidential campaign. now, we have serious egg on the face for georgia of the state case. why is that so important? that's important because he cannot pardon himself on a state case, only federal cases. and now georgia case is losing the the wind out of its sails. so he may be looking good and feeling confidant right now. >> that georgia case is maess, and it stands to become a bigger mess. vick, stand by. we'll get back to you. and coming up, the crisis on the u.s. southern border was
9:22 pm
felt thousands of miles away. in fact, the immigration problem is for the second contest in a row, the no. 1 issue for voters. but first a live look at hampton beach new hampshire in the election state where democrats are focused on donald trump, but trump is still being shadowed by a woman still being shadowed by a woman named nikki haley. next. giancarlo! and i didn't live in that shoebox for years not just... with empower, we get all of our financial questions answered. so you don't have to worry. i guess i'll get the caviar... just kidding. join 18 million americans and take control of your financial future with the real-time dashboard and real-live conversations. empower what's next.

9:28 pm
week, we have also learned that immigration is at the top of the list for gop voters. and of course, the exceptional reporter on the border certainly kept that issue front and center. bill joins us live, again with the very latest on this. people do realize it's a mess, bill. >> and it's been a mess for three years. and trump's's handling on the boarder continue to sing like a lot. they say it's their no. 1 priority this election year. >> we're concerned about safety and security, particularly the border. >> i'm a legal immigrant from germany, so just bring hillians of people in the country and let them with no housing, with no nothing, it's really a horrible policy. and it's not working. >> and this comes as the month of dial december saw the most number of illegal crossings in recorded history. biden continues to break all of the
9:29 pm
records across the board year after year after year. and despite officialss, president biden finally admitted it's no not. >> meanwhile during his victory speech in new hampshire tonight, president trump weighed in on the importance of securing our border. >> immigration is a big deal, a very big deal. we have millions and millions of people flowing into our country illegally. we have no idea who the hell they are, and it's just killing our country. >> and remember, yesterday, the supreme court ruled that the biden administration can resume cutting down the raiser wire, and the cases are still being litigateed. >> the biden administration has
9:30 pm
tried to stop texas literally at every single term as they secure their own border. >> let's bring in the manager. thank you both for coming on. i wantt to put this up on the graen because this is the analysis, national priority, and look at what's ninety-two 1, immigration, interest the second week in a row. it's not just no. 1. it's no. 1 by a mile. what do you think about this? >> well, the immigration issues felt in a very real way in comparison to fentinal and other opioids. anew hampshire was one of the worst states in the nation for opioid deaths and overdoses. it it tracked down. and the second issue is that we had some high profile stories recently. a few months ago, they reported on mass murderer in
9:31 pm
brazil woo was discovered and been here for years working at a job site, having a home. no one spotted him. boston just had an incident where he was accused of raping an elderly person. they said we're ignoring you detainer and lereleased this it person. >> we put it up on the screen. we put it up night after night after night. do you favor or oppose building a wall among the u.s. southern border. it's a very big number, kareem. a law of people are frustrated with what's happening down south, even if you live 3,000 miles away. >> yeah. i think people are seeing this pan out in their local communities, even as far north as new hampshire. and certainly things that come up
9:32 pm
are the northern voters. i heard from a lot of voters and not just republicans, a lot of central and independent. they are worried about the northern border. but most of all, you hear a lot of left-leaning people worry about the well-being of mites who are already here. it's draining. >> yeah. bill, i'm wondering if you're surprised the former president has not visited the border in this campaign cycle. >> i'm very surprised. it's bed and border. and some of the other condt went down to the border. all vized equal path. so far former president trump has not visited the southern voter during this campaign cycle, and you get the idea that the campaign almosts writes itself. if you go go down and get president trumpers
9:33 pm
together. president biden wants to come for you. >> it would. it would tell self. here's nikki tonight, and i want to get your response. >> i want to congratulate donald trump on his victory tonight. he around it, and i want to acknowledge that. now, you've all heard thet chatter amung the political class. they're saying this race is over. well, i have news for all of them. new hampshire is first in the nation. it is not the last in the nation >> they're falling all thoferblz because you see the map, and it it doesn't look good. >> and you saw donald trump's. the numbers we speak just after midnight, about 3,000 people voted, former president trump won by about 11 points. that's
9:34 pm
a pretty hefty win. now, the tracking poles showed a 15 to 20 pint loss, my former governor from south carolina. but it was a solid win for donald trump and really good turnout. it's not the the case in iowa where i think the folks who wanted the race wanted to go on at a good point this was a big turnout, lots of undeclared voters and lots of traditional voters and overwhelmingly it was 54 to # 4. it was a good night. >> yeah. you wrote quoting here who is a rhino. part of trump's branding of haley as a rine eo, and stems from the fact that people are supporting her in place of trump. does she have the ability to build the broad coalition that east
9:35 pm
she should need going into south carolina and baunld? >> i simply don't think she eis capturing some of the core republican party voters she needs. donald trump has shown that's where her support lies. what she showed is that trump is probably setting a little bit right now. to win the general lection, depend on independent voters and moderates and people who are willing to change their mind on what party they're voting for. she doesn't have a good shot, but she showed donald trump will have to dasome serious work to win an election. >> yeah, he does. i've got five seconds for you, for her statement to say that he has to bring a coalition together because he needs more people to go out and win the general. >> new hampshire very much
9:36 pm
reflects a general election population, and president trump has got his work cut cut out for him. >> yeah. that's exactly right. thank you all. up next, we'll continue our coverage for the primary and the big issue that mat aers to most voters, including education. and it's impact on your children as wellases the 24-hour election. breaking a worry for our family. so i can focus on my calling and our family. joining christian health care ministries was one of the best decisions we ever made. we're the blair family, and this is our chm story. choose your doctor without network restrictions. all at an affordable price. enroll anytime at chministries.org/enroll. if you try vaping to quit smoking, it might feel like progress, but with 3x more nicotine than a pack of cigarettes -

straight time. but nikk an i haley saying it's not the end, just the beginning. now, for the education issues they are playing in the season, let's bring in the independent woman's forum education freedom center. thank you both for coming on and joining us for the ed lection night special. i want to put apthis up because is your local k through 8 related to gender identity. too much? 78% say yes, too much, too little. 8% is about right. maybe like 18%. and should we spend so much time worrying about this other than maybe a little math and reading? >> maybe math and reading. >> why are we so focused on
9:43 pm
this stuff? >> ask the california teacher association. i hope they're watching. they're not. they need to look at this data and understand what parents want their kids to learn in school. they don't want to focus on gender ideology. they need to learn how to read and basic proficiency in classic subjects. >> and jenny, the same for you, just different topic. local k through 8 schools, what are they teaching in sexual education. you see the number on the green, it is clearly way too much. it is kind of here we go again, but the point has to be made why are we doing this and what's your reaction to this, jenny? >> well, the good news is that families don't have to send their children to the local or residentially assigned public school. they can send their child to the school also local that doesn't do this and hyperfocus on sexual
9:44 pm
orientation and gender ideology and keep it a secret through gender support plans. they are obsessed with these topics and really pushing it with the summer training through teachers, and the edu-crats are taking whatever they give them and pushing it out through classrooms. parents can say no and speak up through their local school board meetings, and they can allow them to lead that. >> and i think it's happening. the lieutenant governor of virginia westen sears said this. >> how about we, deserately fund the child. how about we desperately fund parents who want different for their child. clown, when did we have public education that says the government knows better than the parent? so we desperately need something different. the

child's future is at stake. the child doesn't get do-overs. >> she's so brilliant. she said things that i think that's spot on. i wish i said that. she's got it. she's got her thumb on impulsive america and parents. and she knows ppthe parents are, like, this is exactly what we need to focus on. >> and i have to admit, i'm pretty sad. i'm sad after this weekend because we had a person in this race woo was good on education policy. >> you're talking about ron desants? >> i'm talking about ron desantpis. he has brought the numbers up. they're not talking about sex with k-third graders. i'm sad we missed it to talk about politics throughout it country. >> a lot of people have said
9:46 pm
these movements in florida has done wonders. and you see these movements across the country but so many obstacles. do you think this 2024 election can kind of push us over the edge toward some of these common sense measures? >> there's the election and and i was in virginia and fortunate to speak with the secretary. and so in addition to all the governor has been doing, he is laser-focused on learning loss and make sure the student's needs are prioritized and taken care of by the district who closed schools for too long here and started this crisis. we need to look for these high-dosage tutorings that's
9:47 pm
happening, and states should be funding those over the next few months. >> i want to put this up on the screen, and get your thoughts. i'med of running out of time. i just want to touch on the first one, private school choice. do you think it is? do you agree? is that the number it one rool in education? >> it should be because it's no competition in california against the public schools. they have no incentive to perform, and i think school choice is the only way to bring this system into some sort of accountability. >> agree or disagree, jenny? >> strongly agree, for sure. >> okay. that about sums it up. jenny, julie, thank you both. and just ahead, our correspondents are back to offer their thoughts on this crucial night in new hampshire and where it goes from here? we're continuing coverage next. we're continuing coverage next. keep it right here. we all know that words have power.

he tackle this debacle? >> so far it doesn't look like it. it seems like texas will hold the line. it it seems like a lot of escalation for a federal showdown. they raise it in a park called shelby park. they took that park over with armed soldiers and kicked the feds out. if they don't let the feds in to cut that raiser wire and say we're not letting you in, what happens next? >> that's a good question. if they go in and take out the raiser wire, does the federal government have a plan to secure. >> doj will probably go back to the supreme court and complain, but at what point do you stop the paper pushing and get past texas soldiers to get in there. >> yeah. could get ugly. >> athe top election is in new
9:54 pm
