is it sold out? i guess. sam is not answering. right now it is sold out unless we get a bigger venue between now and then. i don't think we can. we are comparing joe biden and his inability to even sit down with mike johnson, the speaker of the house. mike johnson said i want to talk to you one-on-one before any vote takes place on sending $90 billion more a foreign aid out the door. the president won't sit down with the most powerful republican on capitol hill because he doesn't want to do a one-on-one. trump said i will do the super bowl interview and sit down with a town hall. i will appear in three court appearances and one day. the differences between the two. fascinating about mark wahlberg. thank you. that's it. jesse is next. happy lent. fox news alert. america is apparently facing a national security threat from

russia that is so terrifying their own government said they couldn't tell us what it is. this vague threat started this morning. primetime producers were getting alerts on their phones. each alert more ominous which is just a vague. congress said there was a threat, but we couldn't tell how serious it was and neither could anyone else. >> there is really no cause for panic or alarm around this particular piece of intelligence. >> is it serious? that's all i can say right now. >> this is a serious issue. this is what we undertake all the time. there is no need to panic. this is not an immediate crisis. >> this is one more thing to worry about with the vladimir putin on his attack on democracy and freedom. soon at this started when the chairman on the house committee mike turner said, quote, "today the house permanent select committee on intelligence has made available to all members of congress information concerning
5:02 pm
a serious national security threat. i am requesting president biden declassify all information relating to this threat so that congress can openly discuss the actions necessary to respond to this threat. primetime doesn't know mike turner very well. he's been on our show wants or maybe twice. he wants to protect the country. we believe he's a patriot. but i've been in this business for 20 years and something seemed off. doesn't the gang of eight usually handle big intel announcements? where is the speaker of the house mike johnson? he still has not ever done our show for the some reason. he runs to the microphone and tells americans not to panic. >> i want to assure the american people there is no need for public alarm. we are going to work together to address this matter as we do all sensitive matters that are classified. >> one mike says very serious national security threat that biden has to declassify. and then a more powerful mike says nothing to be alarmed about. we will handle it in private.
5:03 pm
democrats are saying it serious, but no need to panic. other democrat saying food and is attacking our democracy. what is going on here? >> then we get the drip, drip morsels of info info all afternoon. at something we've known about for a long time. then it something we just found out about. political reported the intelligence related to russia's hypersonic cruise missile that can fly at speeds between mach six and mark eight. they also speculated that the russians and north koreans were joining forces to attack our space capabilities. the media was going crazy. >> we have new reporting on a cryptic message that the house intelligence committee released on social media about a, quote, "serious national security threat. what do we know about this? >> cryptic is the right word. we have more questions than answers at this point. >> this must be a great situation for the chair of the intelligence committee to make such a bold statement.
5:04 pm
>> the threat is related to russia. >> martians are not going to land in the u.s. but it is something of concern. >> once the media was throttled into an of information the intelligence committee leaked to eric schmitt and david singer that the intelligence was about russian nukes. are you ready? the new intelligence was serious said the new york times. but these russian nuclear capabilities didn't exist. and they were still under development. and they hadn't been deployed. this information was classified and could not be declassified even though russia can read the new york times but it gets juicier. leaks to the times also revealed that russia is developing space-based to nukes that can blow up our satellites. but again, russians bake snoops have not been developed and aren't even in orbit. first they told us russians were using world war ii era tanks in

ukraine and now they have built the death star and we are all going to die. the house intelligence committee said this new piece of intelligence was destabilizing and as this was breaking biden's national security advisor jake sullivan rushed into the briefing room and said do not not worry about this threat. but more importantly, congress must fund the ukraine more. >> this bipartisan legislation will allow the united states to continue to support the people of ukraine alongside our allies and partners as they fight every single day to defend their freedom and independence. spent can you tell americans there is nothing they have to worry about in terms of what he describes as a national security threat? >> in a way that question is impossible to answer with the street yes. >> if i were a cynic, i would suspect that washington, anxious to pass the ukraine funding, teased out some intelligence as a scare tactic to jim monday

through. politico also skeptical writing, quote, "it's possible turner was attempting to raise alarms about russia's advancements in space as a way of underscoring the need for lawmakers to approve additional aid to ukraine. washington is rusty. not everybody got the memo. democrat congressman jim hines who is on the intel committee said the threat is not going to ruin your thursday. jacqui heinrich just reported that this isn't a weapon that would attack humans. although if our satellites are destroyed by gps and i will probably drive into a lake. don't get me wrong. i'm not taking this threat lately. i'm sure russians are working on space weapons. it's just ironic that the same people who mocked trump for space force are now hysterical over russia's space force. it's not even in orbit. if russia really was planning on putting a nuclear missile into space, that would violate the
5:07 pm
1967 outerspace treaty and could theoretically lead to a major escalation. something about today's news cycle just seems deliberate. someone played the game of mad libs and came up with russia, nukes, space. on the same day kamala harris is flying to the munich security summit where our nato allies will be rallying to defend ukraine from vladimir. i hope i am wrong. i hope all our politicians and security officials are operating in good faith. we've been deceived into raiding the treasury for foreign adventures before. americans are a noble people. if you can persuade us with honesty and logic we will spend money overseas in order to protect our interest. but don't disrespect disrespect us and trick us into riding more checks. washington has been caught way too many times playing games. they will have to do better than this. a former cia officer and whistleblower joins me now. what is your gut telling you
5:08 pm
about what went down today? >> my gut tells me that this is really much ado about nothing at this early stage. if we are to believe this is about hypersonic missiles, there is nothing new about that. the russians have had hypersonic missiles for several years. the chinese and north koreans have them. we are trying to develop them. what's the big threat? i'm not understanding it? >> is this to boost defend funding? is it to jim ukraine spending through and shame reticent congress members into voting for this thing lickety-split? >> you kill two birds with one stone. first to get your increased defense budget and secondly you probably get the increase not in a continuing resolution, but by forcing congress to pass a budget which they have yet to do this fiscal year. >> the guy that started this, republican on the house intel committee chairman, he supports ukraine funding and that is fine. why was it laundered through him?
5:09 pm
how would it work? >> because as a member of the majority party in the house he has the ear of the speaker. in order to get a bill, especially a funding or appropriations bill onto the floor for a vote, it has to go through the office of the speaker. it's been that way since newt gingrich was speaker. if the cia, pentagon or white house wants to shake a piece of legislation loose they have to go to an important member, a committee chairman of the majority party and get it onto the floor. that's how it has worked in washington for years. >> did this seems sloppy to you? if i could figure it out, of all people. this is the thing about the intelligence community. they always try to panic people by not telling them what they want them to know. they tell them i want to tell you if you knew what i knew, you would panic too. take my word for it. we are the smartest guys in the room. just go ahead and vote yes.
