streets and barely recognizable. he's homeless. the people who are apolitical have an excuse for being shocked. but what about the democrats in the media who are saying they are shocked and panicking? they are trying to play america. these are the slimy a-holes who told us biden was as sharp as a tack and now they are kind of saying this might be a one-off night. no, i recognize that biden. i saw that biden every single day. people are obsessed over the 2024 election. what about the time between now and then? we don't have a president, we know this, but now so does the world. so do our enemies. you've got the media. they act like a guy waking up from an acid trip in the forest without their clothes on. what just happened. were they delusional all along or is this a plan? force joe out by exposing the pain already to the world well before the dnc so they could get

donald trump. he doesn't care about us. he puts himself first. well, tom friedman just in capsulized the whole thing. tom friedman is saying joe biden, you're putting yourself first in front of the american people because as commander in chief you have no place being in the white house or in the oval office. so i thought that was very compelling. i also thought what was compelling was the fact we've been talking all week about the hanger and the eight days or seven days in the 16 advisors. you mean to tell me they didn't see this? this is a debate that joe biden put all the barriers around. he said he wanted it at cnn. they decide what the rules were. donald trump just came in at the end and said "i'll do it anywhere." joe biden knew this and he still was that bad. that's after all the stuff that he went through to prepare him.

and third, joe biden says "i know how to tell the truth." you know what, he lied. i am sick and tired of hearing all day about how donald trump lied. he lied when he said no americans died under his watch. that was an insult to the families of the 13 who were killed in afghanistan and three after that in jordan. and then when he said the border patrol, they endorsed me. border patrol immediately put out we didn't endorse joe biden and we never will. i'm kind of tired of hearing about joe biden coming out saint donald trump lied the whole night. today we saw him. it's like the guy got spray tan. he is a different guy. he can read a speech. >> dana: how did his cold go away so fast? >> judge jeanine: i guess it wasn't a cold. >> dana: this justin. bill clinton. you've been waiting for this all day. bill clinton has posted this said he's going to leave the

debate to the pundits. here's when he knows. facts and history matter. joe biden has given us three years of solid leadership, steadying us after the pandemic, creating a record number of new jobs, making real progress, solving the climate crisis and launching a successful effort in reducing inflation all while pulling us out of the quagmire donald trump left us in. that's what's really at stake in november. that took him a long time to write that today. that's a long time to get a statement out. harold ford jr. paid >> harold: good to be here. this was an opportunity for joe biden who asked for the debate, to do two things. to mitigate concerns about age which are associated with that concerns about mental and physical acuity. and then two, to try to convey again this conversation with the country in a broadway. i hear everything greg said and i agree.

we are investing in these conversations and learning about this and talking about it and having a great conversation that the country enjoys. at least the ratings suggest that. we enjoy. a chance to convey to millions of people who don't see elvis what he wanted to do. he felt. he failed miserably. he didn't convey that donald trump is unfit for office and in fact he conveyed in some ways that he may not be fit for the office. received bill clinton president obama say he's a good man. joe biden is a good man. he's done a lot and accomplish a lot. he has. a lot of investments, jobs. donald trump why thought had a decent night had a better night because of the way joe biden performed. to see there's a lot at stake in the election. if we as a party are content with the next three or four

months will we saw last night, then we should all stand down. but i'm one that believes that the father of a 10-year-old and a 9-year-old, we have a difference of opinion about the presidential race, my friends around the table. that's fine. the priorities that we share, the reason i share what i shared last night that the president, the third thing he wanted to do, biden, to quiet the talk about him being replaced, he didn't do that. as we go through the day, we shouldn't kid ourselves. we should be open-minded, serious and honest about the options that we have before us. and we should be content or resolved if we decide we are going to go forward with joe biden, then everyone should understand what can happen after what happened last night. i'm hopeful and prayerful that we are serious about this decision of the next several days. >> dana: jesse, i feel that we at this table are little bit under playing the democrats' reaction to this because it was

democracy is pretty much over with, come on. we've had enough. we got upstairs around 9:01 and missed the first minute and i see biden and it was like, the nixon-kennedy. i'm saying that sound smart. it wasn't alive. but you see the face and you see trump's face and you think he's going to lose in the minute he opens his mouth, he's really going to lose. sounds like he got punched in the breadbasket. minute 12 you get this total breakdown and then he comes up and says, "i defeated medicare." johnny jumps out of his seat. [cackling] i'm trying to calm him down. what balls do you want to go to during the inauguration? and then they go to abortion. okay, this is where i'm going to get a little nervous.

trump fights to a draw on abortion by talking about partial-birth. and then he fights to a draw on jan 6. if biden can't do that, he can't do anything. then they spend 20 minutes calling each other the worst president in history. and then trump has to defend about 16 hoaxes. bloodbath, fine people. he was getting a little in the weeds but then he anchors every question to immigration. while joe is just regurgitating memorized wonky statistics and can't articulate it. so then i come down. i'm doing the post show. i see this guy, harold ford jr. looks as white as a ghost. never seen harold so white. it's because he watched a ghost for 90 minutes become translucent and fade from the horse race. the debate, virginia it was in play. before the debate, minnesota was in play. i just saw a poll where trump is up in new jersey.

think about what's coming up because i don't see how this changes. you're going to get followed for the next week. great trump fund raising. great poll numbers and then you're going to get the rnc convention which is going to build so much momentum going into august. how is joe biden going to stop that momentum? he's going to have a really discombobulated convention and everyone is going to be fighting and then his son is getting sentenced for gun charges. then they start a six week tax trial which points right to the big guy. i don't know what's going happen but if barack and bill say this is it, this is the guy, he might just be in it to lose it. >> dana: i stopped taking notes at 9:17. i think i'm good. i sat back and watched all these great posts. >> harold: you were asked on the set at 9:00, right before, you were spot on. i give you credit. >> jesse: thank you very much. >> dana: the polls might not change right away. you might be right. up next, so much for cheap

reason. if he and i worked together and he said that demand television, i would have gotten out my white house voice. nobody hears her that but it's a good voice. if you want to get some stuff done. you can get mad at politicians. but if you think they are lying to you, you'll never get them back. selena zito on a special edition of the podcast i did today saying she was watching with georgia voters, all undecided. she said none of them walked away saying that they are voting for biden. she said the majority of them are like "i'm going to have to vote for trump." they were practical that they don't like their choices. but this is the choice they've been given. the thing that makes me mad, think about the white house press secretary telling everybody that joe biden runs circles around her behind the scenes at the white house. think about how they recently surrounded the president with people so you couldn't see him walking to marine one.

thankfully they stopped him from trying to answer questions from the press, shouted at him over the helicopter. you could not hear him. if you did hear him, he only gives one word answers. do you -- no, yes, no pay last night was the first time that 50 million people for a long time have seen him actually give answers. the justice department, they are refusing to release the audio of the robert hur interview, special prosecutor interview. now we can imagine. we can assume why. all of us could assume why but now everybody knows why. numerous ice and had won the best tweets last night, it's funny but not funny. boomer esiason said "are we getting invaded tomorrow," these people that said "the wall street journal," last night had 45 sources that so that they were lying on these anonymous sources but that story was well sourced.

for biden, the policies, i agree with a lot of the policies but we are talking about acuity. acuity is overtaking acts of policy. think about the things that happened last night. to your point, president biden was not able to take the upper hand on reproductive rights last night. he was not able to score a resounding defeat on the januars a serious and damning issue. on qualifying thing for president trump. that point was not made. how do you, if you're president biden, not say in that debate "i won't appoint a judge or justice who is not for reproductive rights and access for women all across this country, not just certain states. we make that commitment question michael cohen president trump that i will get evan gershkovich's release between the time i'm elected i would've given him my phone and said call putin.

i get the sense that what happened was joe said "i'll prove it. you let me do this debate and i'll prove how good i am. i'll prove that i'm ready." and he totally blew it. i just think that one of the things that happened was that donald yoked useful. president trump had color in his face. he was energetic, responded. he wasn't obviously over exercised in terms of this but one of the things i liked about trump and i haven't had a chance to say this. he said "i wish that biden were great president." and i wish that i didn't have to be here. i really believe that because everybody says it's always about him. donald trump could have a magnificent ending to his life. joe biden deserves a quiet ending to his life but his wife, as far as i'm concerned, is committing elder abuse. there's no question in my mind that jill is the one pushing him. jill is the one who announced

when he was running again. it's pathetic. >> jesse: hit the ground running and said we are the party, the republicans, of common sense. >> dana: i love to see not just the fund-raising which the biden team says they raised a bunch of money. who was writing checks? i thought president trump was pretty gracious to have biden last night. he could have buried him even with a look and he resisted and i think that's partly because every human has empathy for others. if you are in that situation. you like wh wow, that guy is dyg onstage. he let him do it. the other thing that i like to see is where you go after a big night. biden goes to north carolina. i think that's because they believe that arizona and georgia are gone. they're going to try to flip a trump state. trump won north carolina by a little bit. they are thinking maybe we could put some money there.

friends of mine who lived there say they are spinning in the wind. glenn youngkin has been a good public and recover in her it's close. if virginia is on the table for trump and new jersey. we mentioned it at the beginning. that means everything is on the table. i think what president trump and his team are doing is they always are running like they are five points behind her partly that's because the media always makes them feel that way and that's good. you should always try to run like that. biden team today, they are running like they are five points ahead. i don't understand it. >> jesse: no one understands it. >> greg: i know trump hit the ground running. biden hit the ground. a message to republicans who buy into all the anti-trump ate from your friendly democrat, you've got to remember if it wasn't trump and desantis, the hysteria would be exactly the same as it had for romney.
