critical days of his 50-year political career, defiance and motivated president biden railed against a fast growing number of democrats and allies calling for him to drop out of the race. some of them reportedly wanted him out by this friday. they had a day in mind. biden fired off a letter saying he will stay in the race until the end. he came out swinging and called into msnbc, called on his phone and announced the calls live saying that the voters are behind him. >> democratic nominee. the bottom line here is that we are not going anywhere. i am not going anywhere. i wouldn't be running if i didn't absolutely believe that i am the best candidate to be the donald trump in 2024. >> kayleigh: the president dared his democratic critics who wanted him out to challenge him at the august convention.

his statement. i pressed him if he thought so strongly about the president being out of it. shouldn't they try to invoke the 25th amendment? i don't think we should go in that direction. we have a statement from a democrat from nevada. he is the chair of the congressional black caucus. he is not speaking on behalf of the congressional black caucus. he says as a member, i would support the president. one way or the other, that would be a game changer. there is also a reaction in past from greg landsman. he is a democrat from the cincinnati area just in southwest ohio. he has indicated that he does not think that the president is ready to go another term. you mention that meeting tomorrow morning. it is typical after members come back and that on tuesday morning they would have a big democratic caucus meeting. they have been very close to the vest as to where they are going to hold this meeting. it's going to be at the democratic national committee.
9:52 am
they might change the place of that meeting tomorrow. >> jeremy: bring it back to the accounts. i want to ask your thoughts first of all long congressman's comment that seemed a little middle-of-the-road. we support the president. do you anticipate something changing? do you anticipate an official comment from the black caucus? >> jeremy: i think you are going to see them fall in line and back support. the letter he sends to the rest of the congress, a lot of them are going to put their tail between their legs and weather the storm over the next few months. president biden things that this is the story of his great comeback. you counted me out in 2020 and i still won. 2022 midterms were not as bad as everyone thought. in his mind, this is his great comeback story. the problem is, it's not his

story. it's america's story. we are in a dark chapter because of his policies. i hope more members of congress would be willing to come out with a strong statement saying this is not about you, mr. president. speak to your conversation with former speaker mccarthy where he commented on the lack of leadership in particular the body. what say you? >> kayleigh: that is exactly right. i was convinced until friday that joe biden would step aside. i watch the abc interview where biden appears to indicate that he formed nato. he said he stopped putin. it was a disaster. i was convinced he was going to step aside. until i read a tweet this morning from jamie dupree who is a long time congressional reporter. "lots of democrats are hand-wringing but no democratics and editors breaking ranks in public. jeffries and schumer keeping their counsel. if there is a rebellion, someone

has to lead it. no one is leading the rebellion. they have decided this is the lead horse and will not make it to the political finish line. >> emily: if you think there is a movement to find a leader, the horse, that person, or do you think it is that chaos? >> i think people understand that joe biden and kamala harris are weak candidates who are likely to lose against president trump. rather than deal with it through an open democratic primary, they are trying to replace him. this is all being done with the help of anonymous sources and leaking in behind-the-scenes shenanigans and not with anyone being out front and open about it which is creating the mess we are all seeing. joe biden knows that there is not a significant difference among the actual electorate before the debate. his approval rating was in the 30s. people don't like his policies. they still still in the 30s. he was old. we are not seeing a major change

in the voters. joe biden is counting on that even though the leadership of the party clearly opposes it. >> a reporter tweeted out the ad spending that is taking place. you look at the state of pennsylvania alone. biden and his allies -- if you look at the real clear politics average in the state of pennsylvania, donald trump is up by 4.5%. 3% when you factor in the other candidates as well. if you are democrats, you are spending that kind of money to get that kind of return and you have all of this in the backdrop, it's no wonder they are lighting their hair on fire. >> if you are new yorkers, all of that money is wasted. more "outnumbered" next. coworker, and trusty copilot. for all your dog does for your family, give them cosequin a daily joint supplement that supports healthy joints and cartilage
