jason chaffetz, going to be the one produced singer? >> jason: good luck with that. the biggest problem with the ticket is kamala harris, we will forget about tim walz in about 15 minutes. it's all about kamala harris and/or fitness for the job in her position and she is a disaster. it's a good day for the cam campaign. >> kayleigh: and j.d. is making it about kamala harris, was so that. >> harris: i know you are keeping count on how many times that he said her name and reporters talking about her pick walz and shapiro and so on and so forth, but he was laser focus on what is the top of the ticket and that's what matters. >> kayleigh: that's what matters. big night we will see it play out on the fox news channel, more to come this week as j.d. vance will be trailing the kamala harris campaign, hopefully taking that successful format we saw from them taking questions, one will kamala harris take questions? "america reports" now.

>> this is a very dangerous ticket, a very liberal ticket, a very progressive ticket. this ticket will leave the american people last. >> to characterize him as left is so unreal, it's just not -- it's right down the middle. he is a heartland of america democrat. >> this is a ticket that really represents the spirit of those 2020 blm riots, they are riots that tim walz as governor sat back and let happen. he sat back and let the city of minneapolis burn. >> if you look at governor walz and his record as leader of the state of minnesota, he has actually been quite balanced. >> reaction pouring in as we await a press briefing from the white house after kamala harris tabs governor tim walz as her 2024 running mate, hello, i'm john roberts in washington and the hits keep on coming. >> we will see what the afternoon holds for us, john, great to be with you, i am

also in pennsylvania today the response from the trump campaign. >speeco >> john: first or bryan llenas live in philadelphia with more. what do you have? >> jon, good afternoon, at 5:00 p.m. today kamala harris and a running mate, minnesota governor tim walz will have their first rally to here in philadelphia, and joined by josh shapiro who was thought to be the front-runner for the job, it will be very fascinating to see how that all plays out today. this event will kick-start a 5-day tour of seven battleground states, and technically now six because they have had to cancel to stop in savannah, georgia, due to a tropical storm debbie. this will be a chance for the democratic party to try to show some unity after harris seemingly sided with progressive's inner party by choosing walz who was supported by senator bernie sanders and the auto workers union and has a history of signing progressive

legislation as governor of minnesota including codifying abortion rights and gender-affirming care for trans youth and free college tuition. now the democratic -- i'm sorry, joe manchin, democrat turned independent senator says he actually backs walz writing "i can think of no one better than governor walz to help bring our country closer together and bring balance back to the democratic party." governor walz is the real deal. the trump campaign is already attacking walz for his leadership in minnesota during the george floyd's riots that led to days of destruction. at the time he was criticized for not calling the national guard and quick enough or with enough force and allowing the destruction to happen. minnesota's democrat sam senator amy klobuchar is defending him. >> tim walz did call in the national guard and stood by that decision despite getting grief for it. i see someone who has stood with a law enforcement and someone
10:05 am
that has opposed the d form the police measure that was actually on the ballot in minneapolis. >> two sources confirm with fox the deciding factor from vice president harris in choosing walz was over the personal ambition upstaging harris. reportedly pennsylvania has senator john fetterman brought these concerns to the harris team during the vetting process. the showboating concerns were reconfirmed when philadelphia mayor published a video without communicating with shapiro's team presumptively pushing for a harris/schapiro ticket. governor shapiro said this. vice president kamala harris has my enthusiastic support and i know that governor tim walz is an exceptionally strong addition to the ticket who will help kamala move our country forward. telling fox that walz and schapiro are actually close, they went to a springsteen concert last year.

given that there were claims from both sides that perhaps antisemitism played a role in the left and why shapiro was ultimately not chosen as harris' vp pick. john. >> and i think he has designs on higher office himself, so we will see how that goes, but that's where the future. bryan llenas for us in philadelphia, thank you. sandra. >> sandra: tim walz not the only vp contender in philadelphia, j.d. vance just wrapped an event there and had plenty to say. you heard about it on this network about the new democratic ticket. i aisha haas and he has been tracking it from philly. she has more for us. >> hi, sandra, it was interesting, j.d. vance never mentioned tim walz once during his remarks even though this is the man who called him weird and launch that entire weird campaign against him that they harris team has ran with pretty much all summer long. he did not talk about tim walz,
10:07 am
because he says that he is not sure that tim walz is really going to be the official democratic vice presidential nominee and did not mention him until i asked him about it after his remarks were over. watch. >> you have talked a lot about kamala harris today and not at all about your new opponent tim walz, the governor who really started this weird campaign against you, how will you hit back against him? >> i think that what tim walz election says that kamala harris has been the need to the far left of her party which is what she always does. kamala harris and tim walz make an interesting team, because if we remember, the rioting in the summer of 2020, tim walz was the guy who let writers burn down minneapolis and kamala harris was the one who bailed them out of jail, so there's an interesting theme in that sense. >> now, part of the donald trump/vance strategy is calling kamala harris out for
10:08 am
not sitting down for interviews and she has been the democratic nominee. >> she's been presumed democratic nominee for 16 days and has not taken a single question from a reporter, the american people get to deserve to know the people that want to lead them, it's shameful for kamala harris and the media that she's taking a basement strategy of running from reporters. >> you can tell that there is a sense of relief against republicans across the board with this tim walz pick, that means states like pennsylvania and arizona feel are still at play. here in philadelphia, republican voters i have been talking to have been telling me that the donald trump campaign really now needs to focus on the issues, not name-calling, not personal attacks, the issues to woo and those moderates and independents that you need to win to win battleground states like pennsylvania. and i also asked j.d. vance about the debate. will he debate tim walz as early as this month, he said he's not
10:09 am
even thinking about it until again he is officially named the democratic vice presidential nominee which presumably means he is waiting until the dnc is over. >> sandra: it will be interesting to see where all that goes, thank you very much. john. >> john: let's bring a mollie hemingway, and richard fowler, fox news contributor. richard, let's start with you, since it is your party technically with the democratic campaign during the primaries, utep back towards the middle for the general election and a lot of people would say she has tapped way left with this pick for the general election. don't look at me so puzzled. >> happy tuesday to too, john. i think that there will be a lot of folks on the right that try to frame tim walz as progressive or frame him to the left i think if you look at his record very carefully, what you will find a somebody that is actually more populous. if you look at him and the issues he cared about and the things he passed with republicans, i might add are very dissimilar to the things
10:10 am
you saw ivanka take up with paid family leave, early childhood care, maternity care, things that are populous and things that most americans agree with. beyond that i think you also see it like j.d. vance do there, republicans hearken back to 2020 and what happened to minneapolis following the death of george floyd and the 8 minutes and 46 seconds that most americans won't forget. and it's worth pointing out that if it was not for tim walz, derek chauvin would not be behind bars, the d.a. was not going to prosecute this police officer, and it was tim walz who said i'm going to swap you out and named the attorney general in charge of this prosecution that got justice for george floyd. so the more republicans bring this argument up, the more and more in a way it will rally folks who are part of the democratic base that just a couple of weeks ago was asleep who from the issue to be palatable and are very excited that derek shogun is behind bars for over 100 years. >> john: there is no question
10:11 am
that a lot of people are happy that derek shogun is behind bars, but don't call him progressive, hear him populous, let's hear how he describes himself. >> don't never shy away from our progressive values, one person socialism is another person's neighborliness, just do the w work. >> john: is that populism or progressivism, socialism. >> it speaks to how people in the democratic party think this might be persuasive to a moderate voter, but minnesota is not known for moderation and tim walz is really not known for being anything then a hard-line progressive leftists, and it is these things like he supports sanctuary cities, open borders with immigration. he was as you know very supportive of the blm riots that burned down his city and because so much destruction to minneapolis and was out there openly for that and resisted bringing in the national guard even as people who own businesses were being shut down, he was a radical on covid shutdowns even opening up bars
10:12 am
and tattoo parlors before churches and he supports abortion, signing a bill supporting abortion up until the moment of birth. and when you think about joe biden pitting someone like kamala harris, that was joe biden thinking he needed to shore up his left-wing base, but kamala harris already has a left-wing base. so republicans are celebrating and a lot of people are surprised because she leaned right back into the hard left base rather than trying to have someone who would maybe reach a more moderate -- >> john: alexandria ocasio-cortez seem to say he was supports the left, making an excellent two decision in governor walz as a running mate, and omar come and congratulations to our next vice president tim walz bringing minnesota nice to the ticket. if you have the approval of the squad, you are as far left as it goes. >> it's a job at the democratic party to unite behind the candidates, the goal is to be donald trump. that's not surprising to me you seed members of the
10:13 am
democratic party and folks who excite the democratic base saying we support with tim walz, but that being said, to imports, i think it ideal to imports until birth is false, there is no evidence that any ob-gyn's that are out here saying after it leaves the birthing canal that lets commit an abortion, what he is saying where the majority of americans agree is that a woman and her doctor should be able to make these decisions without the government protruding on them. >> some americans protect unborn children even if they disagree on where, it's so extreme that up until the moment of birth, but i think that this just shows with kamala harris, she did not to make a really confident pick. she wanted someone who would not upstage her and who would not be any more moderate than her. anything given the issues with her competency that a lot of voters are worried about it is a surprisingly weak pick at a moment where she could have --
10:14 am
>> john: it seems like the donald trump campaign is thinking, thank goodness it was not schapiro, that would've put pennsylvania and play. >> we have heard this line of attack on kamala harris whether or not the vice president is competent, and i think with the polls are saying, the fact that three weeks ago democrats were behind in the polls by four and now this race is tied shows that the american people disagree with this idea that she is not competent. >> john: it probably would've really helped the democrats. >> minnesota has not gone republican and forever. >> john: lost every other state in 1984, great to see you folks. obviously, sandra, a lot to talk about between now and when people start building which is sometime in september. >> sandra: i've no idea what you're talking about. >> john: and tonight when the announcement is made. >> sandra: just had to cut off larry kudlow, we are talking about exactly that, a lot more upcoming on that, larry will join us in the discussion will
