systemic changes that get to the heart of why we are in this situation. and when i say we? minneapolis saint paul, the state of minnesota, nationally and as we have seen over the last 24 hours internationally. a society that does not put equity and inclusion at the center of it is certainly going to eventually come to the places where we are at. >> laura: when they were taking over and then burning parts of the liquor store, destroying a small business, was that part of the dei, you know, failures of the country? but his failure to lead and calling the national guard earlier, allowed neighborhoods and small businesses to burn. >> my husband was asleep and i went and woke him and go you need to wake up now. town talk is going to burn down any minute. we sat there and watched it just melt to the ground. all our hard work. >> it started with people with bats entering. people pushing on the front windows and hundreds of people

went in and looted not for an hour, two hours. five hours. and then they came back the next night and the next night, six fires, it's unbelievable. >> laura: yeah, "the ingraham angle" was on the scene doing that reporting year after year. that was just a few months after the riots. and as for that third police precinct right down the road, it was burned by the rioters and is still abandoned. >> looking at the old third police precinct building three years after the riots? >> it brings back a lot of bad memories for certainly myself but also obviously the police officers that once worked out of this facility. so it's just sad to see here we are three years later and literally nothing has changed. the activists and some of the city council members who are also activists themselves considered a victory not to have police in the presync 60 because some of the city council don't want police to begin with. >> laura: don't want police to begin with but, wait a second.

we got to be fair tonight. what about governor walz's great policing reforms? how are those working out? >> harris his department is short more than 200 officers. >> have you lost 40% of yours force in the last four years that sounds like a big problem. >> it's incredible. it's not just that we lost 40% of the force. they have been facing the highest level of crimes and violence in some categories that the city has ever seen on his way to tanking education as well forgotten whatever sense he learned now it's dei all the time. >> we can't find a teacher that looks like the kids that are teaching. you don't need another one that looks like me. you need somebody who is in there. all the research shows that. >> laura: all the research? really? i want to see that research?

shorl years since he has it the trifecta of democratic majority in both the senate and the house here and the state of minnesota. and you saw there, looking back to 2020 as we watch minneapolis burn, what does he do? does he protect the innocent? does he reward the productive and the virtuous? no, he lectures us about equity and inclusion and tells us that we ought to just roll over and allow these rioters to express themselves, mostly peacefully. get ready for a whole lot of that if tim walz becomes the vice president of the united states. i think kamala harris and tim walz are kind of the before and after picture. she has all these ideas of what she would like to seat country look like. has actually manifests it here in the state of minnesota. >> laura: that's a great way of putting it. the biden and harris are just getting going. and, john, you know minnesota isisnear and dear to my heart. this is the first summer in i don't know how many 10 or 12 summers that i haven't yet gotten to minnesota. but i love the state.

and i love minneapolis. and i am heart broken about the state minneapolis has been left n part because of the radical policies. the anti-law enforcement nonsense of this governor. and i'm putting the blame on him because i have talked to the police. they don't want to -- they want to retire early or already have. you should put the blame on him is he a con man and walz is a wannabe. is he gavin newsom with less hair wearing flannel. is he going to be a useful tool for kamala harris. he is going to go out there and is he going to be the aggressive progressive while they try to cast her as a moderate. but he is a liar. he is gonna try to present himself and they are trying to present him as being this folksy moderate. you watch, he is very, very media savvy. i'm convinced that's why they picked him. that's why she picked him because he will be able to shift his bona fides, he will be able

income which is something that the governor also supports handing out checks just like the new york city mayor does in terms of writing checks to illegal immigrants while american citizen are suffering. but in terms of why they are not talking about this issue or, you know, maybe coming to the middle, at least a little bit on this. it's because this is part of their plan. they have imported 15 million people and their goal is to somehow get federally legislation passed eventually that gives amnesty to sigh to 2 million, 15 million of them elections in this country margins of tens of thousands, lucky if you win by a landslide hundreds of thousands in these states. this is by design which why is you don't see them coming in the middle at all. break up eggs to make omelets who he cares if americans are victims of crime or have to pay extra when they can't afford groceries for their own family. it's about the end goal of

of his faults, and is he a crazy left wing dangerous liberal and his policies are terrible for the country, but he is the kind of guy that i think interacts well with the press and is he going to take questions. and so not only are you going to have tim walz on the campaign trail taking questions and interacting with people like a normal politician. you have j.d. vance who also has really terrific ideas but is very, very good, as you pointed out, we saw in philadelphia today is marvelous at answering questions. and interacting with people and defending the policies that he wants to provide and elected for to help the country. and it's just going to make it all the more glaring that literally she is not allowed to go off script for five minutes or she imperils her entire campaign. >> laura: one thing that i was howling at, it was hilarious tonight unintentionally so was when walz tries to question j.d.

vance-tim walz thing is the difference in biographies. you know, and there is a lot of nice things to say about -- i'm sure is he a good family man. >> i sure is he a good husband or dad. good football coach. he has been in politics for 20 years. j.d. vance has spent his life not in politics. doing normal things and accomplishing extraordinary things and as you point out. lifting himself out of abject poverty, the most hopeless kind of situation and turned himself in to a truly great american dream, american success story. and i don't think democrats care about that anymore. i think they would far rather just import millions of indentured workers to come and get their grass for them. that's really what they care about. >> laura: charlie, it is quite something that kamala harris in an open primary. a real primary wouldn't have won a single state. not one. if all the democrats are running, right? she might have had a chance in minnesota, maybe.

but, probably not. and, yet, she goes reflexively to minnesota because she -- she felt he was loyal, it's been reported on cnn today, that he was loyal. i thought they said trump had a loyalty test, they didn't like that. >> yeah. i also thought it was interesting where he said that i'll have president harris' back if we get elected? what is he comparing that to? is he comparing that to kamala harris with joe biden? i didn't understand what that meant at all it. made no sense. but it did make me think oh, is he saying that kamala harris stabbed joe biden in the back and managed to get the democratic nomination? through, you know, using the entire party powerful apparatus and money bag men to take the nomination away from him and give it to her? is that what he was saying? i don't know. it was really weird i think it's interesting they have to go minnesota. i agree with you. >> laura: really quickly, the other thing the big call back.

we're not going back. i think when you talk to most americans, who, you know, of a certain age, they would say gosh, i wish we could go back to the 80s or wish we could go back to even five years ago when interest rates were low. but i guess they are only talking about abortion. and when boys couldn't use girls bathrooms. that's the thing they are most desperate to preserve. all the other stuff about tradition and the heartland, they don't want to go back to any of that. so, is that what they are talking about? >> >> yeah, you know, i think a lot of moral normal democrats and republicans in the country that care a lot about the country but not involved in politics, necessarily, they kind of feel like frogs boiling in water where we get stupider and stupider and stupider conversations. and i think democrats like it that way. because it turns people off of politics. and it makes people walk away and that's the only way they win elections. >> laura: that's why they can't talk about inflation tonight in philadelphia. can't talk about that, charlie.
