9:04 am
>> besides accusing harrah's of stealing the policy proposal the trump campaign also says it's a victim of a hacking operation after some of their internal documents were e-mailed to politico. the campaign suggest iran was to blame. eric: madeline terms of tax on tips at the question has been raised before as we know it there are bills dealing with this innate sense of an economic impact or how much more money this could potentially put in people's pockets not really just an las vegas service workers across the country rely on tips. >> there has been some bills that have been proposed regarding this. a group of republican senators led by senator ted cruz proposed a bill after former president trump voiced his support for this proposal about two months ago. but when it comes to the effect it may have in the tips industy the tax industry these service workers are highly in support of it you have some republicans as

well say this won't help there some division among that gop party regarding this proposal this platform for? final point about the report that iran has hacked the trump campaign is there a sense they are doing this allegedly because they don't want former president trump to resume in the white house because they know that could have devastating consequences for them? >> that is what the trump campaign is saying. but again there is no confirmation right now that iran is behind this. behind this alleged hacking operation we've reached out to the fbi to see if they are investigating this. support will probably hear a lot more about that. madeleine rivera at thank you. arthel: thank you president biden giving his first interview since ending his bid for reelection. mr. biden acknowledging that his age did play a role in his decision as well as a mounting pressure from members of his own

your brothers and sisters they don't always get along people of personal grievances. people are angry at each other and it is very sad to see that part i do not know what is motivating these folks who have spoken out. >> late yesterday vice president kamala harris gave unscheduled remarks about gaza and the israeli strike that hit the school that contains some civilians and also hamas leaders. >> yet again there are far too many civilians who have been killed. i mean israel has a right to go after the terrorists that are hamas. but, as i've said many, many times they also have i believe an important responsibility to avoid civilian casualties by the president and i have been working on this around-the-clock. we need to get the hostages out when you do hostage deal we need a cease-fire. >> fox news said they senator tom cotton says harris is unprepared to be commander-in-chief and defended that israeli strike in gaza.
9:08 am
>> israel has to strike on occasion in places like hospitals and schools because hamas uses them for command and control or to fire mortars and rockets. there are civilian casualties in gaza no doubt. those are solely the responsibility of hamas not israel. >> right now the white house and pentagon are closely monitoring the middle east right now to see if i iran and its proxies carry out a large-scale attack against israel. arthel: definitely the world is watching the middle east right now. when of course kamala harris the vice president the presidential candidate people are wanting her to do a sitdown interview much like we just saw with president biden. i am sure this foreign policy issue will come up in the interview. now, i think she said she's asking her team to get something on the books by the end of this month. conversely do we know of are going to see a sitdown interview
9:09 am
with president trump as well? this is also a topic he has something to say about. he said this frankly would not have happened had he been the president. are we going hear the president also have a sitdown interview regarding that as well? do we know? what decided beitler clear at the present to the sitdown interview a few days ago on thursday he answered questions and just about every report in the room at his mar-a-lago estate in palm beach for over an hour from the subject of iran former president trump said he would have gotten a deal with iran if he had been elected a president back in 2020 but also said he got along with iran very wellin addition to as he said hitting them pretty hard a few times including killing his most powerful general of course. arthel: we wouldn't wonder if the former president would have been able to stop the heinous attack by hamas on october 7. that would be a question f for short. lucas tomlinson live at the white house. thank you very much lucas. eric: ferguson, missouri police

justified but called for changes within the city's police department. the police chief says those changes were made and that officer brown was part of a wave of black officers hired after the michael brown shooting. >> this and police department,s ferguson police department since 2014 has been a punching bag for this community. the police department we don't even have them officers here anymore. so what are you protesting? these officers are not even hear no more. everything the activist community has activated for as esparza body worn cameras, implicit bias training, crisis intervention training, all of this stuff we have done all of this. what are we protesting? >> chief doyle added black officers now make up more than half of the police force in ferguson. officer brown wanted to be part of a positive change. the assault happened after protesters tore down a police department fence. two people reportedly face assault charges while at least

three others will be charged with property damage. officer brown remains in the hospital the other two officers injured during the protest received treatment for minor injuries and are okay. we'll send it back to you. >> our thoughts and prayers are with officer brown, his family in the entire ferguson to police department. >> absolutely got it. arthel: absolutely. israel issuing new evacuation orders in gaza as the jewish state remains on high alert for a likely strike for my ron. trey yingst live in israel with the very latest. >> good afternoon. here in northern israel we heard israeli fighter jets overhead. headed toward lebanon of a possible iranian attack. more after the break.

arthel: we are 86 days from the election. new polls are showing vice president kamala harris leading former president donald trump in key swing states. we are going to bring in jon bussey as the associate editor of the wall street journal. also a fox news contributor. jon, before we get to the details about the race i want to talk about news of the date with you.
9:17 am
while campaigning in las vegas last night kamala harris promise no tax on tips. mr. trump says she stole his idea. now is there a copyright on such an idea? in your reporting experience as it sometimes campaign ideas do overlap sometimes? >> right. i don't think anyone has first dibs on any particular idea. mind you this is going to go over very well with a lot of nevada hotels and restaurants which is a huge destination in the united states. lots of people working on tips. we'll have to see but you promise a lot in the course of a campaign both sides do. and it shakes out later on in the regulations whether agencies permit it to happen. arthel: gotcha. meanwhile as you well know the
9:18 am
trump campaign has said it was hacked by a foreign actor looking to sow discord in the 2024 presidential election. iran denies responsibility. do you have any reporting that it was ironic? and also how dangerous is this to a democratic process? >> the hacking and distribution of internal campaign material has happened in the past as we all know. sometimes it's done by all the foreign entity that is just seeking to sow discord. sometimes it is done and you never know what happened because basically they are sneaking in to see what policies might be set that affects them. i think the trump campaign feels very much it was ironic. the only bright light and this is that it is not the other side that apparently did it. whether iran was trying to get
9:19 am
material to then leak to the other side to again inflame the election not that it needs much more inflaming. we will have to see what comes of the material that gets leaked. this has happened before it certainly is disruptive. and it's going to happen again. >> yes it is disruptive. let me move on to a "new york times" siena college poll conducted this past monday through friday so last week. it is fresh out t the grease. harris leads a trump in three crucial battleground states of michigan, wisconsin, pennsylvania. bup by four points. 50% trump 46%. again 86 days until election day. can kamala maintain her mojo and can trump get his groove back? >> great questions.
9:20 am
the mojo is really there at the moment. resolve that in the campaign stops in nevada for an arizona they were huge crowds that turned out. also that mayor of mesa his speech at one of the events the republican saying i cannot recognize my party anymore. so join me in voting for the democrats. there's a lot of tailwind right now for kamala harris. "new york times" poll was quite telling. i think we have seen the same kinds of trends emerge in other polls. pennsylvania particularly is a remarkable shift upwards for the democrats. people obviously energized by this new democratic ticket. now let's see what happens next. after the convention the democratic convention in august 19 there is the traditional bump and popularity right after all of the
9:21 am
publicity. we really get down to having to articulate your policy. which is not really been happening other than tips for wage earners in nevada. there's not been an extensive reiteration of what would a kamala harris administration do about iraq? what would relations with china be like? how will it keep russia at bay? to what extent is it going to continue to support both ukraine and israel's war against gaza? these are all things are going to come out in the coming weeks. and might put a little headwind in front of some of that momentum that kamala harris has right now. >> with it down to brass tacks rubber meets the road, kicking the tire all of those phrases. it's true people want to hear
9:22 am
specifics from vice president harris. and we will see where she stands on everything. i think another issue, you tell me if you agree or not. another issue that might come up and one of those interviews with kamala harris is her relationship with benjamin netanyahu. >> yes, very much so. or depending upon vo motors and michigan. a lot of voters in michigan voted not to commit to any candidate during the democratic primary because they have a sympathies. it's a very large community or on the detroit area. i worked there for years. there were a lot of people to support for this administration support of israel. how much is she going to have to change the administration position on israel? also what you said earlier about will trump get his blueback groove a backup? that is been a notable missing element in the last couple of
9:23 am
weeks. >> are right, we will see if he gets his groove back and if kamala maintains her mojo. by the way i am from louisiana i keeps my mojo working okay. [laughter] thank you for joining us. you take it over. eric: we are to that middle east israel earning more evacuations of palestinians in gaza. the order comes after the israeli airstrike on the school turned shelter killed dozens of people officials say. idf says hamas use the facility as a command center for its military operations. rebecca grant said hamas is to blame for the civilian deaths. we'll hear from rebecca grant in a moment but first a chief correspondent is life in northern israel with the latest. >> good afternoon but with all eyes on gaza that region is waiting to see if iran and its proxies are going to attack israel.
9:24 am
massive diplomatic efforts going on to try to avert a crisis. on thursday egyptian and american negotiators will meet to try to hammer out the details of a cease-fire agreement between israel and hamas. 310 days gaza there's one diplomatic offramp available as the bloodshed continues. onset is really strike killed dozens of palestinians. nineteen of them were hamas and islamic jihad operatives a claim that cannot be independently verified. horrific scenes unfolded and search for family members before funerals were held for the dead. >> the israeli occupation forces to people this morning at dawn when they were getting ready for their dawn prayers. it hit with three missiles, two from air jets and one for madrone. >> new evacuation orders were given to palestinian civilians streams of people flowed to the
9:25 am
broken and damaged neighborhood toward the humanitarian zone. most have a backward multiple times since the war began. the southern front remains active so does the north. on saturday hezbollah launch of drones in response was really strike in southern lebanon. there are new concerns about the cross-border exchange of fire and the possibility it escalates the days ahead for there is hope for international observers with the cease-fire talks back on the table a deal with gaza and the situation there could de-escalate tension across the region. eric: alright trait in northern israel thank you. the israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu has been making stunning progress in targeting and taking apart hamas. can the terrorist group finally be defeated? rebecca grant and national security analysts joins us in now. rebecca the civilian casualties are tragic but that is what hamas wants a bit missiles and schools they use the headquarters of high ranking officials in mosques and un
9:26 am
buildings for example. they don't care how many gazans are sacrificed for their propaganda purposes. >> it is very sad. but you are one 100% right. hamas is done this for years. so in this case we have 19 military operatives that are in their planning operations and communicating. is this intelligence these individuals are legitimate military targets. i will tell you another thing, striking hamas command and control as israel day with a very precise strike is not escalatory in the white house knows it but yes the white house as they are deeply concerned that they have also acknowledged hamas does use schools and other civilian facilities it shows you how barbaric hamas really is. eric: jerusalem post as article about the success let me redo that. the headline is called losing
9:27 am
control basically given hamas is losing control because of israel successes. security officials report ability to govern in the gaza strip has been severely compromised. this is evident in the widespread destruction of authority symbols, buildings and infrastructure as well as the targeted person suits of senior hamas leaders including high ranking bureaucrats by that is an interesting addition. we hear about the big names targeted but the netanyahu administration the middle managers and you take out the middle managers of hamas you can decimate the terror organization for talk to us about that type of strategy. >> it is clear over the last few weeks it has been important for israel to target as many of the hamas leadership really all up and down. why this is important to the big picture is israel has to destroy
9:28 am
hamas capability. as part of the cease-fire talks israel has said it is done a permanent damage to hamas. so with the targeted strikes they are keeping that pressure on. also keep in the door open to say we have done it. we've cleared out hamas and we are ready to do the cease-fire if they can get through some of the details. they are keeping the pressure on but also staying within the momentum of the cease-fire talks. >> what you think will it take for hamas to give up and say we are done, is that possible? >> i wish i knew up at the talks have been going on now for almost six months. the deal on the table is late may that hamas objected too and netanyahu has made reasonable requests like asking for a list of hostages. hamas could end this now. they get end this tomorrow. we know there is a great
9:29 am
pressure on them from egypt and from others in that region of course had helping as well but the one thing that's going to work is continued military pressure. in that sense he strikes on hamas leadership is the best thing israel can do to bring this to a close. >> have been here before it let me take you back to 1960. the amazing astounding kidnapping of adolf eichmann one of the nazi architects of the holocaust. off the streets in argentina and brought back and put on trial. why can't they do that with the head of hamas now? is it possible to go but what happened if they kidnapped? i've interviewed the ground the right in prison when he was here new york in the united states. can they snatch him? get these guys and bring them to justice in the international court or just kill them?
9:30 am
>> you are saying you would like to see these individuals off the battlefield and not part of the problem and i have to agree. one reason israel is able to do these strike was they had all the preplanning and in place rt now i diplomatic point is very central to the negotiations at this point in time. and we have to keep that in mind. the officials have been very integral to that process. eric: and ishmael who was killed in tehran, buried thank you dr. grant good to see you as always thank you. >> thank you. arthel: it has been more than 15 years since he won the heisman trophy and now tim tebow has shifted his life's work to a different kind of mvp. he joins us next on his latest meaningful project. hey tim.

9:37 am
we have been in this fight for over 10 years since my dad was overseas and purchased the freedom of four little girls and i just knew that day i was called to fight for the most vulnerable. that is that we are trying to do and are fortunate to be able to do that. just over 90 countries around the world to fight for the mvp of the world's most vulnerable people but specifically this campaign were talking about today is for those boys and girls that are being exploited and being abused. many times in their own home fon the last 12 months there have been over 500,000 unique ip addresses that have downloaded and shared child sexual abuse material. we know on average 55 -- 85% of those that are downloading and sharing it are also hands on offenders. that means there's hundreds of thousands of boys and girls club that are being abused. they are being hurt. that are being exploited and we have to deduce something again so your average offender has 13
9:38 am
victims that means there are so many boys and girls club that we have to protect to pay we are calling this campaign unknown and unfinished because we started it last year as unknown but we are unfinished because there are so many boys and girls club have not got too. yes we have made progress with our partners in nonprofit and law enforcement but there are so many more that we have to get too. arthel: indeed and i know you been working at this for a long time we are just focusing now on this on known unfinished campaign. you have about 200 last i checked about 200 people on your team around the world working to assist mvps your acronym for most vulnerable people. if you could comment tell us more about how your team is working to help the tim team the tim tebow team. >> every way, shape, form a possibly can we don't you just do it in one cookie-cutter way we want to do it in every way possible. whether that is through rescue teams that we are so fortunate
9:39 am
to have a partner with whether that is through safe homes which we have 43 say poems right here in the u.s. and around the world. whether that is orphan care. whether it's a medical care we are fortunate to have three hospitals with our partners. anyway, shape, form we can do that. one of the areas we feel like is where that worst evils in the world is this fight against human trafficking and child exploitation. many times why we feel that is something we have to step into his because it's taboo to talk about because it makes people uncomfortable because people do not really want to talk about child exploitation. you know why? because the number one offender is a father's. it is dad's because the majority of offenders are in the child a trusted circle. so america does not want to talk about it but we have to talk about it. everyone's lives are worth as it talking about, fighting for loving four.
9:40 am
arthel: absolutely wanted to ask you if someone is inspired to help, can they work with your foundation or is there another way to help with where they are without joining a foundation? >> there are so many ways to help. i believe every single person can help in their own unique way. if they want to be part of our team, we would love that but be part of any team because all of us can make a difference. we have a defenders team we have a prayer warriors and we have supporters people who want to be part of this unknown campaign we would love for you to be a part but you can also be a part of it if you are a mom or a dad just by having trusted conversations with your boys and girls club. it is by not letting people that want to be alone with your children to ever have that opportunity. there are so many different things we can all do but i do think we have to be aware of it because awareness can lead to action and we cannot just stop it awareness it has to lead to action because right now there are so many boys and girls club are under abuse and we have to
9:41 am
be able to get to them but we have to know them, we have to protect them so they can experience the faith, hope, love this or desperately deserve. arthel: i feel your passion i applaud your passion just keep up the great work really. i've got another 30 seconds, we had such a heavy conversation we just talked about very needed of course. i'm going to switch to talk about when you are not working so hard, time to relax watching college football i know you will be watching especially this year because the gators your gators are going to be facing the longhorns this is a different lineup. how is that gonna work out? >> that will be really fun i'm so excited about that. texas and oklahoma coming to the sec that is going to be so much fun. there are so many fun games and that's going to be so exciting that will be here before even know it. stupid okay, gators versus a longhorns tim tebow i just say
