he's been a mentor for her and you will start to see introduction from beloved figure in the demo democratic party whn two national presidential elections and start talking about her. issues like price gouging. i think democrats are frustrated that inflation has come down. but as inflation has come down, grocery prices and other things have not come down at the same rate. how you talk about that to the american people. there are some companies taking advantage of this moment that didn't exist when president trump was president. how they talk about economic issue is important because we know voters in most polling prefer president trump on the economy. >> bill: by a lot. more than twice, actually. >> economic indicators are getting better. inflation is down, jobs are up are up. >> bill: it may not be enough time, maria. >> coming online incredibly fast pace so the challenge this week is not just to introduce her but to say we have done actually pretty well on the economy.

i agree with you, dana, she probably has gotten that balance and maybe we'll get more of a balance. but coming out of here, it will go back to people's pocketbooks. it will be people who are not necessarily engaged in staying up until 1:00 in the morning to hear joe biden say goodbye, but actually thinking about their own lives and whose policies were better. i think that this -- i think that this will as much as she is enjoying all of the press she has gotten, i think it is going to be a very different game and a couple of weeks. the coat this is a three-point race in the real clear politics average on this day for years ago, joe biden was up by nearly eight points and eight years ago, hillary clinton was up by six points. both of those races ended up being as tight and 70 some thousand votes in 2016 and 40,000 votes in 2020. it will go until the end. >> dana: i loved having all of you want. >> bill: whiteboarding his brain.

cambria county where johnstown is and these other counties, these are the counties that are going to make the difference in this race. pittsburgh and philadelphia, they have the larger amounts, but there is a ceiling there. it is getting the people out to vote in those elder counties that is really, really importan. i think it is important to note when you look at bill clinton won pennsylvania in 1996, he won 27 of 67 counties. by the time 2012 and this is how much pennsylvania has changed, barack obama won 13 of those counties. so, that is where the race will be decided. speed to do just went across the country driving and everybody should follow your work. we love to have you on the show. very happy birthday to your granddaughter, who wants a pumpkin pie instead of a cake. we love that. >> i have got to make them. >> dana: i know you will, thank you so much.
