east as israel and hezbollah exchanging missile strikes overnighting one of the biggest crashes of warfare in the region a leader left the door open for further strike still to come. welcome to fox news live. fox news in fellow mediators hold talks that could ease reasonable -- regional tensions. alex is live in tel aviv with the latest. >> one of the happiest days of fighting on israel's northern border they launch as many as 320 drones and rocket towards northern israel. you can see the iron dome. intercepting some of those drones and rockets. none of those managed to make an impact in the southern part or central part of the country. hezbollah has called these attacks a success and calling it revenge for the death of the senior hezbollah commander that was killed at the end of last

month. while there had been promises of revenge that many of the residents here across the country have been waiting for, hezbollah said this was delayed because of cease-fire talks that continued this weekend in egypt. before any of the attacks this morning israel carried out a preemptive strike around five this morning deploying about 500 fighter jets to deploy sites and destroy thousands of rockets that were aimed towards southern and northern israel located in northern lebanon. the leader just finished speaking the last hour. he said hezbollah will assess in the hours to come whether or not further attacks are needed to be carried out. this map right here, this is a look at u.s. military movements in the middle east. washington has reiterated they will step in the event that they will need to defend israel from a wider attack.

president biden was closely watching the situation and brown is currently in egypt. the president he met today warned the potential of a wider war at escalation with hezbollah in lebanon. it is worth noting when all of this was taking place there was the thought and theory that because of how contained this was that potentially this was hezbollah attacking without sparking a wire war that theory later on confirmed with hezbollah stating they wanted without this broadening out between much larger conflicts. >> as tensions continue to rise, president biden closely monitoring the situation. >> good afternoon. officials here in the white

where are those talks now. >> it is devastating. we know the hostages are suffering. some of them are not with us because of the circumstances to leave in the tunnels. we are doing our best to bring them back home. some of our colleagues, they believe it. it is reasonable they will not accept the deal. in the last five rounds even though willing to make major compromises. we are not dealing with logical plurals. i think we will have to continue with the military pressure. they don't care about hostages. they don't care about the future of gaza. reconstruction of gaza. they care about destruction.

welcome. >> thank you so much. thank you for having me. >> what is your reaction. >> arguably the most escalatory moment since october 7 or 8 when it was not clear how far hezbollah would go. offering the preemptive actions by israel, this could have been much worse. we should acknowledge the scale of this. to me, it is more than israel. i say that not because of the scale but the timing of this attack. you step back a little bit. this is not a war that they expected or were planning for. they certainly do not want to be fighting on behalf of hamas which is the case currently. they have been messaging publicly that once there is a cease-fire in gaza, they will put their guns down if they are to be believed. as we know, has blood delayed

members of the congressional task force investigated the trump assassination attempt are expected to visit butler pennsylvania this week. secret agents reassigned in the aftermath of the shooting. cb cotton has been all over that story and she is here with the latest. >> 10 members of the congressional task force will be touring the grounds of the butler farm show. they have subpoena power and the goal at the investigation is to make recommendations for reform. we will definitely want to see that here. this comes on the heels of a personal shakeup for some of the secret service agent that helped create the security plan for the july 13 rally in butler pennsylvania. one member of the personal protective team and for members of the secret service office including the special agent in charge were all placed on administrative duty. we are told by a source at number five could be more. congressional testimony from

exchange heavy rocket fire overnight. we are live in tel aviv with the latest on this developing story. >> weeks of wandering when an attack could happen. hezbollah decided today was the day. the israeli military decided to take this preemptive strike before dawn. >> over 100 airplanes at the same time striking in 40 different locations. rocket launchers. self-defense attack. preventing them from being able to kill israeli civilians. >> after that has below launched about 300 rockets and drones towards israel. intercepting on the northern border. catching this major revenge that was a senior hezbollah commander

who was killed at the end of july. the leader of hezbollah just finished speaking in the last hour. earlier in the day hezbollah said the military operation had been completed. it was a success. whether they needed to still have more to carry out. this cross-border attack. the evacuated towns in the north and this is not over. as we learn more about the fact that at least one israeli navy sailor was killed and what is believed to have been the crossfire, the debris falling from one of those rockets are drones in the interception from the iron drone as well.

>> thank you for having us. let's start with rfk junior. from his day job in the future trump administration. >> no. there has been no commitment spirit i met with president trump with his family with his closers, advisors and we just made a general commitment that we would work together. >> what do you make of the timing of his dropping from the race and the impact potentially in november. >> this will be really pivotal full. i think he mentioned a couple of things that were really crucial. he will take himself off of the ballot in some of the key swing state races. most of the voters registered independent voters where rfk would potentially make a difference. you look at north carolina as well.

joy and hope candidate. rfk's junior endorsement puts trump back to where he was in 2016 as an antiestablishment fresh open, it will provide different solutions and what people are seeing right now. that could make all the difference for double haters that disgruntled voters who do not necessarily want to see things continue the way that they are. rfk signifies this message that i band-aid with the other antiestablishment candidate. we will make your lives better. >> the reaction of some of the kennedy members was pretty brutal. calling out five of the sibling saying you people are awful. acting on the conscious for this country. you attempt to throw him to the wolves and publicly condemn him. americans are happy to see bobby on our side as we refuse to comply. will not go gentle into the catastrophes to which we are suspected to succumb.

>> the follow-up from his family has been happening for the last few years. including with his wife when she mentioned on twitter. not agreeing with her about backing former president trump. rfk is one of these political candidates where you have the right message, he is just not saying it or communicating improperly when it comes to certain issues. he had tried to reach out to the harris campaign. he was unsuccessful. the trump campaign open to him with open arms. the harris campaign as a couple of different issues that i do not think would have aligned with rfk. so, back to the overarching question of who will keep potentially impact. it would only make sense for him to go to trump. when this all started we were saying whose votes would he take away? most people were in agreement he would probably take away trump's because of the alignment on some

of the different policies that he mentioned. >> the five kennedy siblings called their brother bobby decision to endorse trump a betrayal of the values that their father and family cold most dear. are the siblings out of line? >> you know, i hate to weigh in on family disagreements. he has some members working for him. some that are publicly out there i think it signifies a value debate and disagreement. that gleams better outcomes. for rfk to be out there joining with trump and continued to debate and have more of a platform for his ids, i think ultimately it lends us to a better place. >> do you think you get the job for? >> ideal. it is him and elon musk and a bunch of names floating out there. i think he will end up arming some sort of role. >> well done. thank you to both of you.

>> thank you, mike. strengthening into a category one storm overnight as it brushed by hawaii's big island. dangerous flooding and gust up to 80 miles per hour. working to restore power to more than 7000 people. officials warn of potential mudslides. rescue crews still searching for an arizona woman that was swept during a creek during a flash flood at the grand canyon on thursday. the 33-year-old woman was hiking when the flooding began. around 60 other two arrests were evacuated from the area by helicopter. two nasa astronauts left on a bowling spacecraft but will catch a different ride home next year after an extended stay at the iss. we will have that story coming up next. ♪

they will also return to earth on a different spacecraft instead of the troubled bowling star liners capsule that carried them to the international space station. they cited safety as a main factor of their decision noting the star liner has leaks and thruster issues. >> butch and sonny knew this was a test flight and if everything went right it would last 10 days some issues, maybe 80 days. it looks like they have some unresolved issues that they are concerned about and they are taking the safest route and coming home on a competitor space vehicle. >> nasa plans for butch and sonny to return to earth on a spacex dragon capsule in february instead of the bowling star liner. awarding with the contract and elon musk spacex company with a $2.6 billion contract to help develop the agency's human space flight systems. since then spacex has completed multiple flights. this space mission with the

troubled star liner was their very first one. even though butch and sonny will not return home on the bowling star liner nasa remains confident in their work. >> i have just talked to the new boeing ceo. i have expressed this to him. i told him how well bowling worked with our team to come to this decision. and he expressed to me an intention that they will continue to work the problems once star liner is back safely. >> nasa is planning for the bowling star liner to be back safely early next month. the aerospace engineer. arthur, welcome.
