sore throat, common cold symptoms, flu or flu-like symptoms, back pain, high blood sugar, and redness, pain, or bruising at the injection site. talk to your doctor about repatha. joey: fox news alert idf announcing they have found six dead hostages taken by hamas on october 7th inside a tunnel in gaza just days ago. rachel: that includes remains of hirsch goldberg who is the fourth american hostage believed to have been killed by hamas. pete: trey yingst joins us live from hostage square in tel-aviv israel with more. hey, trey. reporter: hey guys. good morning, six of the israeli hostages that were being held inside gaza were killed by hamas. according to the israeli military, their bodies were recovered this weekend. a devastating development for the israeli people, who have waited 331 days to bring them home. we know that three of the hostages were set to be released
5:02 am
from gaza during the first humanitarian exchange once a cease-fire was implemented i'm told. among them american citizen hirsch goldberg poland his story grabbed attention of the world the 23-year-old was attending music festival when the october 7th attack began. he hid inside a bomb sheeter that hamas threw grenades inside and degreesed into gaza and still he survived until executed in recent daysing. president biden released a statement overnight saying he was devastated outraged adding that the bodies were recovered from a tunnel underneath rafah and moved gallant to car to reverse a decision led by prime minister benjamin netanyahu last week to keep troops in the corridor between gaza and egypt. this was seen as the last major sticking point preventing cease-fire deal. now the funerals for these hostages will be held in days ahead but i can tell you it was a gloomy depressing morning here
5:03 am
in tel-aviv as israeli people mourn loss of their six fellow citizens. guys. pete: what's your sense of how this will change the dynamics? there are different camps of, you know, hogs tadges and cease-fire first versus destroy hamas and how does this change -- does it make it more likely there's a cease-fire and less, where are we? >> it certainly puts a lot of pressure on the israeli government to cut a cease-fire deal. there's a list of more than 100 hostages still being held inside gaza. the list goes on and on -- of these israelis who have been in the tunnels beneath gaza for past 331 days and so when the israeli people see that six of them were according to the military killed by hamas as they moved in on their location, it puts even more pressure on the situation for this government to reach a deal. joey: it seems there are two priorities here. one is to destroy hamas. other is to get hostages home
5:04 am
and then days like today we feel like those priorities are contentious against each other is prime minister netanyahu taking that message to the israeli people? we have to destroy hamas? i don't so say even if but you about, even in the face of something like this? >> yeah. he is look there are two different camps here you see it at the very highest level of the israeli government. there is a huge disagreement ongoing ooze we speak between israel prime minister and benjamin netanyahu and gallant got in a screaming match over what to do and gallant said to him and i'll paraphrase this but i spue we can senior officials today who gave me this information confirming what took place in this cabinet meeting gallant said to netanyahu as prime minister you're able to bring anything that you want in this cabinet to a vote including the execution of hostages. because gallant understands if there is no deal more hostages will die. and it is each day passes it becomes more and more dangerous
5:05 am
for the israelis still being held in the tunnels beneath the gaza strip. rachel: we saw heartbreaking footage of the mother of this young american. who was executed -- and it was just a few days before she had her hand reaching out towards gaza praying and blessing her son, and hoping that this would end and that he could come home safely. i think about her and if that was my son, i would say cease-fire, bring my boy home and then deal with the war and hamas -- my question to you is you talked about a debate within the military and with the prime minister about what to do. but what kind of debate what exactly is the debate in terms of the civilians in the israeli citizens? what kind of political power do the remaining families of the hostages have and do you think that's enough to sway somebody like benjamin netanyahu who seems very convinced that the only way to deal with hamas is
5:06 am
to destroy them and to continue the war? >> it is a great question, and there is somewhat of a divide among the families. but the majority of the families believe that israeli government has failed them. they've not yet gotten a deal to get their loved ones out of gaza and some of them still alive and being held inside the strip. and it really comes down to a family to family issue. but i can tell you we went to the funeral of one of the hostages who was kilted a young man he was 34 years old from the community of narim talked to his mother since october 7th checking in with had family and you saw devastatedded they were to get news that he was dead. and so many families are worried that will be the fate of their loved ones and it is part of reason they've been in the streets demonstrating just last night here in tel-aviv israel second largest city, thousands of people took to the streets with yellow flags and signs calling on their government to cut a deal and get the hostages
5:07 am
home. and so the pressure is higher than it has ever before. they understand that the stakes are high and lives of the individual held by hamas, and as the war degrees on, nobody wins. more civilians are being killed inside gaza. the israeli hostages are being killed. it is only death and destruction from here. and so there are a lot of people in israel that are calling for a deal to bring these people home. ♪ ♪ pete: trey yingst thank you for the insight and passion thank you trey. rachel: great reporting. thank you, trey. pete: bring in fox news anchor shannon bream great to see you as always. just your reaction to these, obviously, tragic developments in israel including an american that we now know is dead, killed by hamas. how does this affect the cease-fire deal and dynamics in washington joe biden wanted this
5:08 am
deal kamala harris has tried to dictate terms of what the israeli military is doing. how do you see this playing out? >> it is just absolutely crushing i think all of us have probably interviewed some of the parents of people who have been held, and it is just gut-wrenching to know that these people were alive days ago according to reports on how this played out, and that they lost their lives they were executed. by hamas as they were possibly going to be rescued that's what's gotten netanyahu saying this morning these people don't want a cease-fire deal it is not serious. if they would execute hostages who have been alive this whole time for more than 330 days roughly, he has ruled doubts about whether there's a cease-fire. listen we're going to talk about this on the show and break down how a trump or harris administration would handle this moving forward as best we can tell. from their policies, but this is something that has been intractable for the biden administration to try to get the deal done. hamas's leader israel leader they both have a stake.
5:09 am
in getting this thing done, there's a argument that both of them politically have an interest in not getting done. so what's left in the balance are very real human lives and families that six more of those groups of loved ones are devastated now. rachel: yeah it is definitely going play out in this election donald trump saying, hurry up get this war done. quickly to benjamin netanyahu, and then biden and harris insisting that a deal can't be made let's talk a little bit about politics on our side of things. not about israel for a second here because debates are coming up and what we're learning is that kamala harris is one of her strategy -- strategies is to get under donald trump's skin. and that might be why she wants that mic open. what are you hearing and what do you expect to happen at this debate the last debate certainly had a lot of consequences. shannon: it absolutely did and
