assassination attempt on former president donald trump. >> steve: brooke singman here with details. sounds like a problem with manpower and then a problem with technology. >> that's right, guys. good morning. so whistleblowers telling missouri senator josh hawley that secret service personnel are not properly trained to protect candidates. these whistleblowers said homeland security agents, not secret service agents, were the ones assigned to protected details at former president trump's butler, pennsylvania rally in july. they said the agents were only given a single two hour online training to prepare. the training video was prerecorded and some say that those videos were riddled with tech failures. one whistleblower telling senator hawley, quote: imagine 1,000 people logging on to microsoft teams at the same time after being informed at the very last minute that everyone needed to log on individually. once it got rolling, the secret service instructor couldn't figure out how to get the audio working on those prerecorded interviews.

many wanted to see a longer sentence. influx of migrants in the big apple has been a big source of anger by many residents seen their parks and ball fields turn into migrant shelters. one never five motions in nyc is now a migrant shelter contributing to a shortage of tourist lodging. not clear if that is affecting those in town watching the u.s. open. the 19-year-old migrant pled guilty to second degree assault in july exchange for spending a year on likers. the convicted felon arrived in the united states just five months before assaulting those cops in times square. police groups think the sentence should have been longer and wanted him deported upon release. many in new york are asking this morning what's the plan if one in every five hotels have migrants how long are they going to stay there another year, another two years and how much it's costing? of course, tens of millions of dollars to could this guys. >> brian: lucas, thank you very much. they have a pilot program. do you know the other one with

that their response was they weren't invited by the family. what memorial did they do they invited the families to. what have they done to honor the 13 service members to i have stood in green room for a charity event in new york and spoke to multiple families of those 13 heroes. i don't have anything substantiate this other than to say this is what this father believes. one of the fathers looked at me and said, i saw bullet holes in my son. what they told us happened i don't believe is what happened. so it's not just that they are not honoring them or don't acknowledge them or say their names. it's the fact that the families don't believe they have been told the truth. yornght that's true, i don't know. they don't feel like they have been told the truth. they don't feel like this administration has communicated with them what happened that day. and, you know, the record of this administration, i tend to believe that there is more to it than what they know. and so they feel like they have been shunned aren't every corner. joe biden stood in front of these families and started talking about his own son that died from brain cancer.

columbia? >> yeah. it was definitely something that i thought about. a good friend of mine actually switched schools last year. i miss her a lot. for me thank god, i'm in the stem program, i work back of campus. i do go out and fight when necessary. but when i need to buckle down and work can i get away from it all and buckle down and work. that's not a luxury everybody has. >> lawrence: tell me about the vibe on campus. do you feel lining any steps put in place to keep you safe? >> absolutely not. first of all, i just want to mention the day before i moved in, i published an article in my local jewish newspaper, about my hesitation going to barnyard as an openly jewish and zionist student. and i expected nobody outside of my community to read it, honestly. and only a few hours later it was posted on an anonymous instagram account that's run by

encampment leaders. and the hate comments were awful, disgusting. and those comments also bled into our group chat of my fellow classmates that he hadn't even met yet. we moved in the following day. and they were asking me how i could even show my face on campus. telling me it's embarrassing for me to even be there. i don't feel safe on campus now that i'm here. from my room, can i hear the protests quite clearly. i'm on the second floor fairing broadway. walking through campus, i notice fliers being handed tout visiblably jewish students, basically fliers telling them that they are complicit in genocide. and i just feel like there is a target on my back simply for being jewish. >> lawrence: we have been following this. and this is some of the experiences that we have been able to document at the university. so, there has been jewish students that are faced out of their dorms. they have been spat on, forced to hide the symbols of judaism. excluded from the student life

groups. they have been pinned against walls. anti-semitic slurs and tropes has been shouted at other jewish students. when it comes to the university, has there been some commitment to keep you safe on campus or have you walked to class by campus officers or anything like that? >> the short answer is no. the administration has made a commitment to ensuring the safety of jewish students on campus. we're constantly receiving emails from barnard and columbia saying they want to mend fences. >> lawrence: with the words? >> yes. >> but, as much as i appreciate those cliche sentiments, it's all talk and no action. columbia has an anti-semitism task force that released a pretty damning report of anti-semitism and anti-semitic incidents that happened on campus this past year, and while that was disseminated to the entire university, i have not seen tangible examples of the
