"fox & friends" hour one starts right now. ♪ >> brian: fox news alert. schools across the country are on high alert after the shooting deadly shooting in apalachee hoop, georgia. >> steve: two students and two teachers gunned down and murdered by a 14-year-old student who the fbi and local authorities interviewed just last year. >> kayleigh: danna marie mcnichol is outside the school with more and the victims. danamarie? >> well, good morning. good news is that the nine people hospitalized are going to survive fox news has decided not to name the shooter. we do know the weapon used in the shooting was ar style rifle according to the georgia bureau of investigations. we also learned that the police got the phone call around 10:30 yesterday morning.

obviously the school shooter was armed and our school resource officer engaged him. and the shooter quickly realized if he did not give up, that he it would end with an oif. officer involved shooting e gave up. gotten 00 ground and the deputy took him into custody. >> the weapon used in this was an ar platform style weapon. >> last night we learned the names of the four people killed. they are mason schumer horn, a 14-year-old student. christian apartment ngolo. 14-year-old student. two teachers, richard as spin wall and christina -- now, according to the school website. the adults killed were both math timps and as spin wall was also an assist distant football coach students waited reunited with loved ones after a traumatic day.

you could hear the fear and sadness in their voices. >> i was like this isn't real, this could not be happening. i never thought it would happen so close to me and people i cared about. it was a lot to take in at once. >> now, questions still remain how the shooter got the gun inside the school. we do know the teacher was on fbi's radar since last may when he was flagged by the national threat operations center after accused of making online threats tied to a school shooting. these threats included photos of the guns. the fbi says that the jackson county sheriff's office tracked those threats down to the 14-year-old's ip address. they went to his home and spoke to his father who told the fbi he had hunting guns in the house and that his son never had unsupervised access to those guns. the teenager also denied making those threats online. the fbi said at the time there was no probable cause to arrest him or taking any further action. now, authorities have said that

this teenager is in police custody. he will be tried for murder as an adult. yesterday we saw multiple vigils around the community. for the school students here, the schools in the county will be closed for the rest of the week as this investigation plays out. we will send it back to you. >> steve: we can understand that danamarie, thank you very much. live report from georgia. so it is interesting. over a year ago. there were anonymous threats that were phoned in as she just mentioned. the fbi's national threat operation center. and they didn't name the school. didn't name state. eventually the fbi tracked down georgia and to jackson county. and they told sheriff's deputies about it where they continued the investigation. at that time, she just mentioned. this though interviewed the then 13-year-old shooter and his dad. the dad said yeah, i have got hunting guns, but they are, you

know, they're secured. he can't get them. and the kid said i didn't do it. >> kayleigh: he was 13 years old at the time of this visit. i mean, that's incomprehensible to think about a 13-year-old doing something like that. but that's where we are. i was watching a mom last night on cnn. and she said her daughter was in the class with this young man who perpetrated the shooting allegedly. she said that he displayed odd behavior all the time. he would oftentimes leave the classroom and say he was going to the bathroom but not take the bathroom path. >> steve: skip school. >> yesterday he left to go to the bathroom and didn't take the path and this unfolded. >> brian: what i find surprising fbi able to get it to him and him just denying that he did it forensically, can't they track it down? haven't we found al-qaeda terrorists with less information than that? and if you got to his house, they have to know it was him. just denying that it was his footprint. >> they conducted the interviews, turned it over to the local cops. and they conducted the

interviews. look, i have covered some of these on the ground. i don't think there has ever been a case where the person that perpetrated the incident was not on some type of radar. it was always signs. there was always reports. people don't just wake up one day and decide they are just going to shoot up a school building. there is things leading up to this. the one thing i want to point out that was pretty incredible when it comes to these students, when they saw their coach, teacher had a gunshot wound, drug the coach into the school -- into one of the classrooms and tried -- took his shirt off, tried to apply pressure to the gunshot wound that. >> brian: they couldn't stop the bleeding. >> lawrence: kids trained to do that pretty incredible. >> brian: what about the resource officer unlike parkland stepped in and took him out. >> ainsley: football coach lost his life yesterday.

do you know what he was doing when he lost his life. helping the kids out of the classroom. he leaves behind two daughters. he leaves behind a wife. he leaves behind a lot of heroes yesterday. >> what is interesting about what happened yesterday. so many of the kids and the teachers thought it was a drill. because they drill -- they practice this all the time. they thought okay, this is just another drill. so, the students knew exactly what to do. and a lot of them did. you know, they barricaded the doors. they locked themselves in. when somebody was knocking on it, they did not open the door. but, nonetheless, four people are dead this morning. the governor of the great state of georgia had just flown to las vegas for an event. got on a plane, came back to georgia. said this about what happened yesterday morning. >> this is everybody's worst nightmare. and i just want to offer my sincere condolences and our thoughts and prayers to the families that have lost loved ones. for those that are injured and

conticontinuing to fight througt a tragic time for really this whole community that's been affected by today's actions. i just cannot thank the first responders enough. i cannot thank director hosey. colonel hitchens. director stall lynn's jima. the whom stated response. farley and her team from the fbi that are embedded with us. in the school as we speak. running down every single lead. these are our neighbors. these are our friends. and this community is hurting today. >> lawrence: i appreciate the calmness that he brought to the scene. talked about what resources are going to be dedicated. talked about the families. it was much different -- his response than the white house podium yesterday that was quick to politicize it. we just don't need that in times like this. >> brian: joe biden talking about gun control and republicans got to get with it. they just did bipartisan gun

later today as you mentioned, trump will be speaking at the economic club of new york. expected to remind voters president biden canceled the keystone pipeline and approved what he called putin's pipeline when biden removed trump era sanctions on nor stream two. guys. >> steve: thank you. interesting what kamala harris announced about her plan in new hampshire she has made a clean break with joe biden. joe biden wanted to jack up the tax rate on capital gains like 10 or 12% higher than what she is doing. and clearly, some of her big donors probably put the squeeze on her because she backed off. she was going to jack it up more. she backed off. clearly. >> brian: american people putting the squeeze on her. >> steve: if somebody is going to write you a really big check and they say don't do that and she does what she did yesterday, that's important. clearly she is trying to make a play for wall street. which joe biden never really did.

and make a play for silicon valley. because she is appealing to people make a lot of their money through investment. >> all of those boxes that lucas showed, you could easily see someone watching in the middle class and say oh the corporate tax rate, capital gains, this doesn't affect belief. all of those have downstream effects. they will effect you. the most important one is box number 6, allowing the trump tax cuts to expire. irs data makes clear those making between 15,000 and $50,000 got 16% tax break up to $100,000 you got about a -- let's see, 17% tax break. so you want to vote to increase the payments that you make to the irs? well, vote for kamala harris because box 6 is effecting you directly. >> brian: i think that's good. because i think that president trump should bring that up. be ready to go on the debate. constantly they say he gives a tax break to billionaire friends. to his "wall street journal" fat cats and that just doesn't jive with what they tried to do with the tax reform. and what they accomplished with

says that over at least the past year, r.t. and it employees have deployed nearly $10 million laundered through a network of foreign shell entities to covertly fund and direct u.s. companies. now, some of the potential russian disinformation mentioned includes, quote: record inflation. unaffordable prices for food. risk of job loss for white americans, threat of crime coming from people of color and immigrants and overspending on foreign policy. but, while iran and china were mentioned, no formal action was taken despite attorney general garland's acknowledgment that tehran and beijing are actually trying to undercut the trump campaign. listen. >> the justice department's message is clear. we have no tolerance for attempts by authoritarian regimes to exploit or democratic system, unfortunately, we know that russia is not the only foreign power seeking to interfere in our elections. that includes recently reported activities by iran to compromise

because they are obviously some of the people who are involved in pushing this narrative. and the indictment goes on to say essentially that the goal is to push americans to support the idea -- this is regarding the russians, to push americans to support the idea that the united states should focus on domestic issues in the united states rather than wasting money on ukraine. let's not spend any more money on ukraine. let's keep the money here. that ultimately, according to our intel and the department of justice and the fbi is the goal of the russians. >> kayleigh: i think a lot of americans watched this yesterday and thought 2016 i thought trump was a russian operative. we had mueller, mueller, mueller. that didn't pan out. then all of a sudden fast-forward to 2020 and the hunter biden laptop was russian disinformation. now we hear russia a third time in eight years. that's why i love david spunt's question to the attorney general. you know, a lot of americans don't just have a lot of faith in what you guys are doing. convince us why we should care. that's the biggest question.

morning. israeli forces continue to conduct limited ground operations inside gaza as we are learning more about those six hostages who were executed last week by hamas. >> the israeli military releasing this video showing the area where the hostages were held underneath neath her city of rafah. this shows the entrance to the tunnel inside a child's bedroom with paintings of mickey mouse and snow white. the idf says they killed 200 operatives in rafah. it continues its psychological warfare releasing another hostage video overnight showing two of the people speaking before they were killed. diplomatic efforts to get the remaining hostages out of gaza have slowed and u.s. officials say that recent comments from israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu are complicating the process. remember, there are still four american hostages believed to be alive in hamas captivity. and reports do indicate there could be a side deal between the u.s. government and hamas to get them released.

take any additional law enforcement action. >> brian: figure if there is more investigation about the investigation. here with more is fox news contributor, retired nypd inspector general paul marrow, paul, the most learned moment is they say we had this guy on the radar a year ago, but no treason arrest. they also said that they couldn't trace it right back to hirges the school threat. doesn't seem like that adds up. if they ended up in his house. i think they traced it back to him. >> yeah. that last part is a little shaky. you can always do the forensic work difficultily to bring it back to the house and that computer. that's a matter of realistically two subpoenas. they can get there on that. the real issue they likely ran into is the fact that he was 13 years old. he's a juvenile. and none of the possible charges at the time would have applied to a 13-year-old under are georgia law. a murder does. 13 and up, you can be charged for murder. in this case we have a 14-year-old when he committed the crime. so he can be charged. but the previous thing he

wouldn't have been chargeddable. and as a result there wasn't a whole lot you can do there. >> lawrence: paul, explain that for a second. you used to run counterintelligence for the new york city police department. closest agency to the fbi. when you get intelligence that someone is planning a shooting or a threat of a shooting, what do you do next? do you do to nypd, the school safety team? how does that carry out? >> yeah so, very good question. i was actually in a task force that had representatives of all the federal agencies. and so sometimes these things would come to us. and realistically, you are very dependent on the caregiver. very dependent upon the parents. you need full cooperation from the parents if you have a situation where the kid is not arrestable. i had this in -- actually more than once in terrorism instances. 99 times out of 100 the parents are going to be real cooperative they understand they have a real problem. we had a couple where they were not. and you have a real problem there and we had one where the kid was just at the age of 17 at

the time. we really didn't want to go forward with the prosecution but we had to because we got no choice. that's t the conundrum. with a kid this young you are really stuck. steve as we heard in the press conference last night. local authorities i believe the sheriffs they eventually tracked it down. the tips were online gaming site. so gamers turned him. in they knocked on the door and they talked to the father and they talked to the kid. the kid said i didn't do it. >> right. steve the dad said well, i do have guns but he does not have unsupervised access to them. so, essentially i didn't do it. and he can't get the gun. >> obviously the story is pretty shaky there. legally there isn't a whole lot can you do. unless you get into a circumstance you can demonstrate the home isn't safe for a child. get do not child protection thing. removal of the child, et cetera. under the fact pattern that you articulate. one of the things that comes to
