peacetime president, those are the issues that he will win on. and he's got to be careful because what kamala harris is going to try to do and what she's in her, like, debate room doing for this past week is trying to find, you know, how am i going to get a yes, queen, moment, right? she wants that moment that makes her the full brat girl -- will: or make him look like a bully. rachel: -- and she owned him. that's what she's focus on. he's focus on economic numbers, on border and the crime, and he's talking about bringing down these wars. meanwhile, the new york times opinion columnist carlos lo saad doe said this is the challenge harris has. she will have to the the face off against biden, his shifting views. her support if possessor are eager to watch her prosecute the case existence trump in their debate, but when it comes to the biden years, harris is both

prosecutor and, reformer and contrast and continuity, and that's a harder sell. so that's interesting, who has the harder task at that debate. is it donald trump, as a you said, having to fend off, you know, her attack, or is it her that she's got an almost impossible task to do? will: i don't know. i think if this was a pregame analysis, it's really hard to predict. if she has objectively the harder case to prosecute as you just read from that quote. i just think i have become increasingly convinced, and i'm not dismissive of this farkts i'm just acknowledging much of the electorate votes on how they feel, not what they think. and when you push policies, you're appealing to how people think. and and that's true, you should. people should do things according to how they think. but should isn't what governs the world or, and people vote how they feel. and i think that when men debate

women, it is a very hard dynamic for a man. if i were debating pete, i would be empowered to be as aggressive as i want to be. i could interrupt you and just totally people would not feel -- they might, a lot of people don't like interruptions and cross-audiocassette tasker but i could go at you hard. but if i debate you -- rachel: i would kill you. [laughter] will: it totally changes the calculus. pete: can i moderate the debate between will and rachel? will: everybody feels differently about me if i start interrupting you, if i go too ayes, sir i havely at you, and all of a sudden i'm a jerk. rachel: i think you're right, and that's one e level. but there's another level. first of all, do you feel like we're, as a country, in a really bad state? most people do. most people are worried about where we're at as a country. and do you feel like his aggressiveness which he is just naturally like that -- not you,

donald trump -- you feel he's competent. he's a businessman. he's done it before. he got the economy back on track once before. we already know what works. or does she make you feel like she's just not ready? pete: or does she try to give you the joy jibes -- vibes? the oh, e -- let's turn the page vibes, the hope and change vibes. it has nothing to do with policy or being tied to biden's record. that's where so much of the fluff goes into the field. i think she has the harder tax because she's holed up in a holiday inn in pittsburgh studying for a week with a mock set and somebody wearing, you know, trump's they said boxy suit, trying to look like him. she knows she's going into the ring with mike tyson, she knows that. her goal so to pull out of him something that makes him look bad. will: he's done it. he did that with biden. pete: he did it with biden. and i think that's the approach

here, let her talk, point out her contradictions. the moderators will not, so keep pointing that at out many a way she eventually has to address what you're pointing out, but don't do it in a way that's overly aggressive. that's not easy. easy to say, not easy to do. will: the rules play into this as well, and pete and i are going to to break down the rules of the debate, the strategies and what's at stake. we're going to go off the wall at 8:20 a.m. eastern time. rachel: great background, that'll be interesting. pete: if president i think moderating a debate between you two would be really fun. consider what the city's up against. the new york post reported a couple of weeks ago that of the arrests happening in midtown manhattan, in this city, 75% are from illegal immigrants. so the crime that's being committed -- and, again, this show is not about new york city. it happens to be in midtown man hat tap, but midtown manhattan, what's happening here place out in other cities because of the policies that here. we're finally admitting hat illegals are causing a lot of the crime. so two councilmen are calling on governor hochul concern. will: republican and democrat, bipartisan coalition. pete: heir the calling on governor hochul to -- that's an important mint, it's one thing for republicans. it's the not working. here they are on "special report" yesterday. >> we believe we have public support. we believe that new yorkers are frustrated. they are seeing rising crime numbers where there are high

concentrations of migrants. whether you agree with the policy or not, if you're a resident of even the most progressive neighborhoods of new york, you are noticing there is more crime. and not just the crime aspect, but also the money aspect. this year it's going to cost us $5 billion to the house and care for this population. >> the services that are required by the migrants who are coming to new york city are immense. they're costing us an enormous amount of money. we just simply do not have the resources to keep on footing this bill. will: so the reason this story -- and i appreciate your point that we're not a new york city show. the reason the story, i think, has resonance beyond new york city is twofold. new york city and 75% of the rest is symbolic of something that's happening every where else. we talked about aurora yesterday, trend daying rag what in wisconsin. it's everywhere. and new york city often becomes, like, the shiny bauble on the christmas tree that lets you know, hey, it's christmas. this is a problem everywhere. pete: there's cameras

everywhere, we can show it to you. will: and the second thing is this is a coalition. it's not just those two congressmen, it's democrats and republicans serving in the new york city council who are saying, hey, governor hochul, you can do something, we need you to do something. repeal sanctuary status for new york city. look what's happening. and they're asking hochul to step in, you know, a power she has to save new york city. rachel: in colorado or, you brought this point up yesterday, in colorado, the governor of colorado a year, two years ago was bragging about being a sanctuary city. and so kathy hochul. and so now i think people, a lot of the things they were brag about have come back, and they're, you know, they've got egg on their face -- pete: for sure. rachel: common sense people knew they were bad ideas, but -- pete: there's a question for kamala harris in the debate, do you support sanctuary city? s on issue after issue after a issue we're all going to be sitting there going, what because. >> she actually believe?

that's the advantage for donald trump, pointing that out. we're going to turn to a few additional headlines starting with this. this morning police will continue the manhunt for a suspect who shot five people on a highway in southern kentucky yesterday. officers identifying a person of interest maimed joseph couch who they consider to be armed and dangerous. police say the unnamed suspect -- isn't he named? unnamed suspect shot the five from the side of the highway. seven people in total were hurt according to the mayor including a few victims from a car accident. or part of the highway is still closed as the scene is under investigation. and now to a fox wildfire alert, california governor began in somehow -- newsome -- gavin newsom issuing a state of emergency as the line fire continues to burn. residents are being ordered to evacuate as the blaze has burned more than 7,000 acres and hurt 3 firefighters. officials say the fire is at 0%

containment. the cause of the wildfire is still under investigation. and good samaritans springing into action to help rescue a man after his truck went into a florida river yesterday. deputies say hay responded to a call for a vehicle that crashed through a guardrail and into the river when they saw two people helping keep the driver's head afloat. they were able to free him before the truck sank and safely brought the driver to shore. officials say he was taken to the hospital and is in the icu. and now to college football -- will: here we go. pete: northern illinois upsetting fifth-ranked notre dame yesterday -- will: bad loss. pete: that's not good. plus, oklahoma state hanging on in double time to beat arkansas -- will: crazy game. >> some touches here inside the 15. pitch to gordon, running left to the 10, gordon to the 5, into

it's time to bring our country together. chart a new way forward. will: after five days of, quote, high liquor yo graphed can debate practice sessions complete with a stage, tv lighting and a bob trump method actor. here to react is kaylee mcghee white with us this morning. thanks for being with us. kamala harris and donald trump, we were just talking about here in the show the different challenges they have. hers will be living up to expectations when it comes to the substance, husband will be about style and how he approaches a female presidential candidate. how do you see the prep for both candidates? >> well, i think that that it's clear kamala harris needs this debate more than donald trump, and if that weren't the case, i don't think her team would have agreed to do it in the first place. that should tell you something about their internal polling. she needs this debate because she's failed to prove how she's

different from joe biden, and she's even failed to prove how she's different than donald trump to the a certain extent or considering the few policies she's released are also trump powells. -- policies. i actually think it's quite telling that her team is already setting the bar low for her saying she's at a kiss advantage. i actually agree with hem on. that however, not because of the rules as they've claimed, but because as you guys know, when we're preparing for a panel with someone who's going to the challenge us on our belief or when we're going to have to do the challenging, that's a sort of muscle that you have to exercise regularly to be good at. when was the last time kamala harris was in a hostile environment taking challenging questions? will: right. >> probably back in 2019 when she was running for president the last time. she has not done this in four years. will: right. >> and there's also the disadvantage for her that the longer she's exposed to the public, the more people can dislike her. again, we saw this play out in 2019, and it seems to be playing

out exactly -- will: because of that, i would have disagreed with you about she needs this debate more than donald trump. i do think it's their strategy, seems undeniable, and i don't think it's a dumb strategy to keep her away from everybody, just don't expose her. don't expose her lack of spontaneity, her policies. so the debate is a moment where she's going to have to be exposed. in a way, i think it's more important for donald trump, this debate, because i think she'd rather stay hidden, but the polls are moving. that's why i think it's starting to become more important. the hide strategy the doesn't seem to be working as good as it did before. she was at a spice shop yesterday, and she says the number one thing is to move beyond divisiveness or, but yet this spice if shop, who is this spice if shop in pittsburgh, they published, hey, if you're republican, we're not interested in your business. very divisive stuff on their web site. it's a fascinating place to all

pope when he was visiting end media -- indonesia, for every big attack, there are a thousand incidences where terrorists are going into villages saying allahu akbar, burning down churches, burning the fields of individuals, doing absolutely unconscionable things to women and to girls, and yet i can't give you a single example of a major human rights organization that's making this their cause -- rachel: why? i mean, we hear about -- i was going to say, kamala harris talks about islamophobia, we talk a lot about, you know, the atrocities of october 77th on this network and other americas --. 7th. i why is christian persecution this taboo? and it's the number -- they're the most vulnerable population based on the data in the world. >> yeah. i mean, that's the fact, more christians are killed every year than any other group anywhere. what you saw on october 7th,

that same type of brutality, is what's happening to many of these people, you know? and as i said moments ago, we're watching on the streets of american cities and universities, i mean, people protesting for the terrorists. i mean, you would -- we need to be protesting in support of the hostages, protesting in support of israel, and christians immediate to be protesting in support of -- rachel: yes. >> i can tell you, you know, the jewish community looks at us and they say, like, why are you so silent when so many of your community are being killed around the world? and i can tell you, there's a big difference between our two political parties on this issue. president trump was the only president to make protecting christians and to prioritize christian persecution around the world, and what we have now is we have, like, both sides stuff going on. so you can't say that terrorists are killing christians without all of a sudden in the next incident,, you know, making sure you're talking about the persecution of muslims in some place around the world.

shooting. his grandfather telling to post, the text prompted her to call the high school and warn a counselor of, quote, extreme more than. she apologized to the victims' families yesterday saying i'm so, so sorry and cannot fathom the pain and suffering they're going through right now. a california woman who was missing for over two weeks in the wilderness has been found alive. she disappeared on august 26th from a campsite outside of sacramento and was found on friday at the top of a river canyon not too far from her campsite. she was severe withly dehydrated and e mace quainted and was taken to the hospital. no word on her condition. and those are your headlines. let's check in now with meteorologist adam klotz who's back from michigan. you got anything to say to me or america -- the. rachel: a new social security scam is targeting users or through their e-mail. will: one e-mail obtain thatted by our next guest reads: we regret to inform you your social security number has been temporarily suspended due to unlawful activities uncovered in our investigation. pete: kurt the cyber guy joins us now. what are they asking for? >> pete, good morning to you, will, rachel. if you you don't think when you send me an e-mail we don't read it, we read everything that comes our way. and it turns out that when jean from hackensack, new jersey, sent this mote that she got talking to us, we were like, okay, we've seen things like this before. we dug in, and it turns out there is an uptick, a pretty big one, many scams like this against social security benefits. her letter said we regret to

inform you your social security number has been temporarily suspended due to the detection the of suspicious and unlawful activity. so you get a letter like that, and it went on, of course, to much more urgent language which was, like, hey, you've got to do the something. i don't want to lose my benefits. it's a complete scam. absolutely avoid scams like this. anything that triggers that sense of urgency, anything that you didn't is ask for, anything that didn't come in the mail that then you could verify independently, it is likely a scam. but it is not stopping everyday, smart people, you, me. we will all click this stuff because our -- it's just grabbing at our emotions. so how you avoid scams like these, well, delete yourself from the internet is one of the best ways to do it. when you remove or you get a service is, i mean, you can spend hours doing it yourself, you could use one of these services that does it as a subscription, they scrub you off the internet constantly. if the scammers can't find you,

you're likely not to get a scam. be vigilant of imposter merrills now not just by e-mail like jean got, but ones that come in your mailbox. and be alert of phishing attempts all the time. in other words, if a link comes your way, don't click it unless you ask for it. have good antivirus protection, it'll make those links do nothing. and then identity protection, you get an alert, look, we've been shopping for a house. that as a-- they ran my credit n. if two minutes i got ap alert, hey, did you apply for this loan? okay, i'm glad i've got identity protection. those are some things that are really going to help you. rachel: so if you got a letter like this, you say it's probably a scam, but you also want to make sure everything's okay, you should just go call the social security office, correct? >> you can. you can. i would certainly report it because when hay see a volume of this, they actually start doing something about it. rachel: good. >> but it's coming at us with such a level, it's really hard -- it's like a fire hose of
