inflation perhaps in the history of the country because i've never seen a worst period of time and people can't go out and buy cereal or bacon or eggs or anything else. the people of our country are absolutely dying with what they have done. >> we know we have a shortage of homes and housing. the cost of housing is too expensive for far too many people. we know young families need support to raise their children and i intend on extending a tax cut for those families of $6,000, which is the largest tax child care credit we have given in the long time. speed to border security seemed to be the main focus of the night. >> so i'm the only person on to state that is prosecuted transnational guns in human beings. and let me say the united states congress including some of the most conservative members of the united states senate came up with the border security bill which i supported and that bill

refs, that is a loss. that's what i see it as a warning about the refs. >> carley, back you. speed to reaction from both sides thank you very much. doug collins talking about this debate and doug, a lot of opinion coming in how the debate went to and which candidate at the stronger night so what do you think? >> what i think it was a night in which donald trump laid out the vision and he had also hit back at vice president harris. vice president harris very good at gabbing platitudes and wondering answers about life and what she would hope to be, but the biggest issue i found out all night is actually looking at the questions and looking how it came about. look joe it's not about talking about referees or anything else. it's about honesty and the debate and that is an interesting thing when you see one candidate get fat check and cut off and the other is saying blatant lies and nothing said. it's not a matter of how the

debate is done if done fairly. last night, both sides got in their points. you can tell harris had been practicing for weeks on scripted moments instead of dealing with answers one of which are you better off work oh years she avoided the question and it was one of the first questions. speed to one of the major topics this morning is the moderators and their decision to fact-check one side back-to-back and this is what it sounded like. >> there is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it is born. >> "abc news" reached out to the city manager and said no credible reports again no evidence of that. as you know the fbi says overall violent crime is actually coming to him in the country. the question was u.s. president and not about former speaker pelosi, but i can watch all of the speakers video. i didn't detect a loss by whisker. >> carley: doug it is

"abc news" host gang up on him during the debate here are donald trump's initial reaction following the 90 minutes was it did feel like it was three against one the entire night. >> many, many times before but it is one thing to actually debate the person you are running again or talk about her trying to go back and forth which they allow them to do, which was the best part of the entire thing. it is another to say something and say the moderator is going to step in here and the person answering the question is going to ask and answer a question and again and they are blatantly wrong. there was no need again when it comes to abortion, she is wrong and she won't admit that. immediately, the social feeds lit up with the issue of north folk virginia and all the democrats voted against born alive abortion. all eight states in the country have no restrictions on

abortion. that was all lies and never backed checked. you are telling me david actually holding a conversation with a city manager to come back at a presidential candidate? really? this is where you are looking at? again very obvious but i want to go back to the facts of the debate and this is vice president harris' cannot answer are you better off than four years? she never answered why inflation or answered the fact about immigration issue except she wanted to do a bill that would never pass. also, if she won a 1,500 border agents why isn't chuck schumer putting 1,500 agents on the border? they don't want to do it because i don't want to close the border. >> carley: if you watch the whole debate president harris is back there was very little information as to how she was one time the most progressive senator and is now taking policy positions but i

want to ask you, doug about foreign policy because major topic of conversation to come up after the debate last night. here is a combination of a few things harris had to say. >> what you think is a friendship with what is known to be a dictator who would eat you for lunch. well, i will tell you i agree with president biden's decision to pull out of afghanistan. 4 president said they would and joe biden ted. as a result, american taxpayers are not paying the $300 million a day we were paying for that inlet swore. we must chart a course for two-state solution. and in that solution, there must be security for the israeli people and israel in equal measure for the palestinians. >> there was a lot in there for her drawing from afghanistan to taking both sides when it come to the gaza war but if the question is who would be the best commander-in-chief, what do you think about that answer? >> i think basically look at the

facts. we had four years in which you had these dictators and these other standing town and not attacking. you had iran basically neutralized. that was something very interesting that they let pass with vice president harris. they didn't talk about iran's president trump brought it up that iran was brought back to prominence when they came into office by loosening the sanctions and giving them money and putting them in position to sell their oil to make the money they are now sending to hezbollah, vance and others. they let it ride. if you fact-checked one step to fact-check the other and the idea of two-state solution that we need to find peace in the region and when you have terrorist group who is controlling gaza, you will not deal with these groups who believe israel should not exist. that is a fallacy. >> carley: for the first time now, harris is saying let's do it again in october. fox news extent of invitation so

with this. it turns out and by wednesday evening still wins 90 miles an hour and we are probably peaks as far as the strength of the storm goes and it will become more of the rainmaker as it makes that move that hurricane warnings are in place across the coast there of louisiana. new orleans now under a hurricane watch, not a hurricane warning but pass close and if they can see hurricane-type conditions. as we time this out the time-stamp in the corner as we watch the system make its move, you will start to see the wins by noon and probably the afternoon maybe into the evening if it slows down a little bit more. we are still waiting on the speed of the system. new orleans will deal with some of it but we are expecting a ton of power outages. i think the legacy of the storm will be there is a lot of moisture but this. rain and fleming even inland will be one of the pigs concerned so this will linger into thursday even though landfall today. >> todd: we will be watching,

largest maritime evacuation in american history. shuttling thousands of people from ground zero across the hudson to safety in new jersey. captain rick thorton joins us now. captain thank you for being here. walk us through your heroic actions on that fateful day. >> thank you very much for having me virgil new york waterway was operating its normal schedule, which was straight across from the world financial center at the base of the world trade centers as well as midtown as well. as soon as the first plane struck the first tower, we thought just like everybody else it was a tragic accident. we didn't have smartphones or anything like that so we didn't get a lot of information. we just saw the smoke pouring out of the first tower. 8: 46 and at:03 the second lane and struck the second tower a concerted coordinated attack and that is meant the entire fleet

was mobilized. we sent 30 boats down to the world financial center area and the most immediate place that needed evacuation. the people from not just the towers that surrounding buildings were streaming out of the buildings and collecting along the waterfront. some of them were just running in a direction. some of them were trapped along the seawall in the park. and some of them to sheer terror and their eyes. they were actually climbing over the rail and jumped into the river and starting to swim out. so the fairies were extremely busy. and we were just picking up people from every imaginable part of the terminals but along the seawall and pulling people out of the water as well. b2 pulling people out of the water a and you made 20 back and forth trips in new jersey to get people out of the danger zone. what were we thinking as this was happening? >> at first we were thinking what can happen next?

because the towers had been hit. later on, we found out about the pentagon being hit as well. and we just didn't have any information at the time to flesh out the magnitude of this event. but as the cruise we did what we do to get people from point a to point b and just accelerated type of event. and we were just really, really busy. the coast guard, the fire, police, everybody jumped in to put out a call for all available boats on the radios. this is when you saw flotilla of vessels coming up the river. >> todd: it is important that you had a down there before they all call was issued. why was that your instinct when you saw this to say this is really, really bad and i need to

get my boats down there? >> as soon as the second plane hit we realized what happened and something of a coordinated attack. and i was still looking at the ferry in '93 when the world trade center was it as well. i knew how we set the boats to the area and that '93. i took the vote off line from 39th street run and headed down to hoboken to the city operation. i was telling myself i stole the boats and i didn't check-in or anything. >> carley: but that is the best reason to still a vote. 23 years later before i let go what does this day mean to you a question mark. >> it is a time to reflect and we all think about the great wars of that day, but we think about the good things we did as well. the coordination, the cooperation with all of the different entities and groups within the harbor. and to think about this all the

issue. donald trump talked about going back to washington, d.c., last night and signing a bill without congress. as if he doesn't know how government works. donald trump was very concerning last night. demonstrating that he really didn't know how government work. that he thought he could just sign a bill without congress is absurd. that we don't need a long-term, congressional fix to solve the border problems is absurd. how can you talk about the problems of the border all day long -- and not to solve it? >> todd: it looks like we are having a little trouble with david's signal. i'm going to go to tudor dixon and the reason i asked about the border issue and the economy is donald trump basically said when you're talking about the economy, that is a border issue and vice versa. on the whole, tudor dixon, do you think donald trump did

enough to overall economy to the swing state voter? >> well, i want to go back to quickly what was just said about the bill that was on the docket. there was actually bipartisan opposition to that bill because it would enshrine in law that you have to allow a certain amount of people across the border every single day. it was probably one of the most dangerous national security bills on the table in washington. it wasn't just donald trump that opposed it but many americans. nobody bothered to say to her what about the women who have died? what about the women who have been raped and 300,000 plus children missing right now because of your open border policy? when he talked about sending an executive order immediately, that was just to stop the bleeding, just to stop the bleeding! and when i say leading i general genuinely mean leading because we've had drugs across the border and children every single day who are going into child trg

and go to washington, d.c., and sign a bill that doesn't exist!" why does it not exist? donald trump killed it. he would not let congress actually do something about this issue with that he complains nonstop about. kamala harris was able to articulate and drive that home. anyone watching this debate can see it perfectly clear that kamala harris we know where she stands. yes, she might have evolved on issues like everyone does, but she is clear. donald trump is not an donald trump was pro-choice and then pro-life amount ambiguous. he wants to have his cake and eat it too. it is so obvious that it is laughable. kamala harris was a slam-dunk and able to prosecute the case and she showed up, delivered. it was a slam-dunk for her. >> todd: david did that she disobeyed and disavowed far left with her answers but tudor dixon do you agree with david? >> absolutely not. she comes out and says she wants an assault weapons ban and then
