7:34 pm
to be able to relax for even a moment to play golf. we are literally fighting a battle between good and evil. i'm just going to tell you my side every day in the fbi and its of these individuals and they have no respect for human life. and going back to what was this person's grievance, why did they think that it was appropriate we just went through this on july 13th. they obviously thought well they weren't deterred by that they were not deterred even by this shooter, being killed. we thought well i'm still going to do this they obviously had a motive grievance that was so strong that they did not care and that to me is telling is chilly and dangerous. >> joe biden back on july 13 cut and had more protection the donald trump fit in butler pennsylvania despite being a far more coveted or a bigger target then joe biden is obviously and

so what is the process as far as who dictates how trump gets more protection given that there was already an assassination attempt on his life 64 days ago, now and then when hear. is it joe biden's call. who said that this person needs more protection and obviously because after two times, he clearly needs more. focus on from here. nicole: i agree and how many attempts doesn't think and said oh yes, we do know about the protection 12 what i believe, is that on july 13, president trump probably had the amount of coverage possible for the secret service upper level should keep in mind, could save all no no, we gave him protection yes we give him protection so they can check a box i think it was not when agent warned what they felt was necessary at a minimum to provide coverage. and i want to think that they
7:36 pm
will give all of the resources possible in the bitter get the resources possible to president trump there's a threat assessment and you evaluating each individual one of the known threats, we all know a numerous amount there's so many threats come there more threats and local you know the civilians don't even know about law enforcement knows about some interest behind the scenes that are not even ever known to the general public and it is in the make a determination looking to cover it you will in this press conference they said well feed been a impressively coming he would've got a more protection. we just had to set an assassination attempt on july 13th and he's a former present beginning of the reevaluate i believe is coming from the upper level the secret service and guess who the secret service reports two, dhs mallorca that is the chain of command for secret service they go up through the ranks and i do think there's a shortage of law enforcement officers right now
7:37 pm
the secret service is strapped is a high stress job with think their leadership has failed them and many rank-and-file ages are so frustrated they have to travel and any's agents and them have to work 60 days in a row with no rest in his high burnout so when you're not getting the level of support that you need to come up in the ages leave and so i think that that is a huge problem, that the shortstaffed only look into their firing, what is the quality of the agents of the secret service is bringing in i'm all about quality, not quantity if you happen to have a significant amount of quantity in order to do the job for anybody was at the president trump community to stop playing golf, i fully disagree with that he is a human being just like everybody else and he deserves the amount of respect and protection that is necessary to protect his life. and three threat assessment can see that he likely has more threats and pretty much anyone in the world right now. be my guest.

service, is you have to have protection commensurate with the threat, not your role okay, so if you the mayor's leading a lot of threats, they need to increase your protection if you donald trump of you been shot out, if you have the credit directed at him, you need to increase the protection predict that is just common sense and when you consider that we spent roughly also about $48 billion on her porous southern border, to know i feel, policeman 3.8 billion the latest budget for the secret service coming it is hard to see the money is going and where it is not. and i would argue that this is something that is again has been points been made, bureaucratically at the chain is where you really need to look for the culprits here and you know the scope beyond alejandro mayorkas nobody gets fired and who has firing power, our president and where is he. >> on that note, there is been some interesting differences

the other conjoining sheriff's office. the medially got on the car stop and call the day family stop certain procedures to make sure there's not a shootout enters at the gun was left at the scene but they know that looks like the right guy. that is pretty seamless okay, that have been fast. and you know what where this guy resided he's not from the area rights we don't know if he was doing pre- surveillance to pick up worries up on sunday that's all going to be looking up as you know at the time, they don't know with her getting into, is a car booby-trap or somebody is not part thompson remember the boston bombing okay. so i sit therefrom nypd, mike tyson those guys are throwing bombs out the back of the truck and so give no idea what you getting into this level. so if this point, i think that we can say very good response a well coordinated and kudos to the team responded on the ground and you need to go back to the aspect of this, should happen
7:44 pm
begin with sue met paul, if you were handling the security for donald trump not do outdoor rallies, golf and i do not agree. i say the guy should be able to do what he wants to do and golf do outdoor rallies to get this week at the big crowds of your running securities, would you sing this point given to assassination attempt left nine weeks, would you say mr. president let's keep it indoors and let's keep it in the secure location and what would you do sina that's a safe answer learning the detail i say that to him and i would fully expect to get to know that. safer for me to say well mr. president to be favor only the basement okay much like the biden compete in 2020, let's read biden campaign and can you stay inside mar-a-largo so i can sleep at night but i would not expect a little trump to hear that were shooting about the idea that with the resources of the american government, we can protect one human being, and everybody else is a lot of people who want to take him out
7:45 pm
and they're afraid he will went, that is what is driving this look is a little bit of a leap but is some point, walks like a duck and talks like a duck, they are afraid he will win this to assassination attempts, this accident. >> i'm curious what would happen tomorrow because after july 13th, and belmar, knowing the secret service came to talk to the american people to clarify anything, so in the boy come up with it we find conspiracy theories lots of questions and also subproblems tremendous amount of reporting. when i'm curious about is if we will see the acting director of the secret service, tomorrow. molly: the american people and reassure them that they are trying to handle things of that things are handled anything like that. >> i'm go higher than that and then i would like to hear from alejandro mayorkas, he's been mia on the border and he was mia at butler listing a piece of the butler event director sheetal head of the secret service and
7:46 pm
now alejandro mayorkas has to designated national security that okay, and the warranty was designated that many of those and i was designated okay for the secret service, the super bowl in director sheetal was in aspen and when the event happening that we can she was scheduled to give a speech in aspen that wednesday she was there for the week with our whole team as the head of the hs in response over the secret service and did you sign up on that you did not, aren't you concerned about the fact that your people running over the country when were about have the rnc and ask yourself this, should she have done that if the d&c would he have not looked into the fact that he said secret service for the rnc and is mia with the mountains of aspen to give a speech unacceptable but as usual, never gets fired and she believes in you know what, this is nonpartisan because i don't want
7:47 pm
to see a tip for cat with some cooper the right said were going to do this to you but both sides and we need confident protection for people in public life and yet these failures continue nobody answers for them. >> really appreciated thank you. >> thank you right now the fbi's collecting evidence outside of trump international golf club in most population 20 is now jason keep its former utah comes in fox news contributor jason connected network site of the secret service during his time on capitol hill and so jason, your thoughts and we see here again it's talking this country has to endure this once again, the second assassination attempt and 64 days of the former president by possibly the next president of the united states come your thoughts. jason: praise to the agents to do the work there on the ground
7:48 pm
from the took care of the president and extracted him in the person who actually takes a shot and were still learning about him the secret service, that's a hard thing to do but you see a gun pointed towards the president you take on your weapon you start the fire that's really what happened, hats off to the percent going to you, this is another complete failure. although we get into this position. the idea that there is a witness who sees a guy come out of the bushes and he goes and gets into the car if that is the complete set of facts, i just has the of mind to take a picture, getting a license plate that they can then, put into the license plate reader and are you kidding me, that's the extent of the service that they are doing some economic with uniform officer out there and you cannot have home be sure father a secret service agent out there and we got lucky again as paul has said, and if i did not happen, we would not know where the shooter was would be shooter was
7:49 pm
and so it is a complete failure one of the note about the secret service, we love the men and women who want to serve they are being they are not being let go, secretary alejandro mayorkas is the point person in the one that makes the decisions on who gets protection and does that and it is the protection does not and he is in charge of billions of dollars in a totally completely on sec. alejandro mayorkas at this point you have an acting director, that means that the secretary has to taken elevated role in doing that and there feeling at this and the secret service not only protects the protect these come the protecting the united states of america. that is the mission. haven't for bits on the cabinets of one of the protect these, this nation it's in peril so they were for the united states of america not just to protect the protect fee, they have to understand that mission and they
7:50 pm
have got to other game because we should never ever how to be in this position, just 60 days after the last shooting. >> okay jason, charlie here so this week later this week, and this is something that you have spent some of your life doing as well. newsweek congress will be releasing this report that we are told is going to be shocking in the failures of the secret service pretty and you heard anything or what are you expecting to come about and how well this sort of hold into all of that. >> why think there's going to be five curious you going to look at recruit and the lack of recruitment, the workload the secret service is doing because they are more than a thousand pages shy were they are at entering he is abysmal, they do not get nearly 20 hours that they are supposed to and communications were off the chart bad not only with local law enforcement, but the communication within the ranks
7:51 pm
of what they are trying to do. all of the things were a complete failure. they've got to have a degree of creativity. the shooter was created in butler company got plain kamala white roof this person goes into the bushes, was a gun through a fence in close proximity to the present, that was a terribly creative what if you had somebody that was created with there were three or four shooters that decided to descend on this and then what we think that hopefully there was a witness out there with a mobile phone will take a picture really, that's what were doing in this level. the problem is that i went through this with the secret service, ten years ago and not changed. the fundamental problem and they have not solve any of these problems and that is on sec. alejandro mayorkas and joe biden and on kamala harris and they are the ones in charge, they are the weather should been instituting these changes.
7:52 pm
>> the american people have been through so much this summer and we have already seen congressional hearings from jul. we got some answers but there still so many questions were supposed to get more answers no hundred i'm going to be good this coming week and you have to assume will have more congressional hearings we are 50 and 51 days in the auction. how are the american people supposed to feel confident at this point, any of these candidates will be safe. >> i don't in one of the report says that the person was in charge had actually failed there a sale. to be in this leaders position so how much does di landed this and and i think that's a very legitimate question. i'm not jumping to a conclusion better people will i will tell you that i know for a fact, that the secret service was putting people out to do protective work
7:53 pm
that did not pass a security background check and how can that happen. i know there uniformed ages out there in the division that go out to their job and do not have a radio. how are they supposed to do their job. and so i need to tell you that i do not have the confidence and that is what is scary about this and they should give the president trump and his family by the way, the same level of protection they do the president of the united states. he deserves that and he needs a threat level demands it that's exactly what they should be doing. >> jason, molly here. molly: we are talking about president trump and his family of course and the near victimization that have near a political rally of the summer there was a man killed and two others injured and there was a golf partner in the golf course today with the former president and there are people all the rent him. and what about the danger tina people want to go to political valleys in america now what is
7:54 pm
essay about our country this should be protection that level. >> clearly if you do an indoor event and if you put a security shield rather presented come over they can go through magnetometer, that is the most safe sinner that you can but i am a huge fan dogs and bomb sniffing dogs and you telling me that you can put a few dogs out in front of the president to go around the perimeter to see if there's anybody hiding in the bushes, you can use the infrared and there's all kinds of technology but again the secret service, they haven't sunset by billions of dollars in the not been able to do this to you donald trump coast of that place regularly at they should know how to secure it. donald trump deserves the opportunity to go up to the public so does jd via and tim to visit his joe biden somehow he can hang out to the beach and
7:55 pm
they have a secure so somehow they've gotta be able to figure out how to do this because are given billions of dollars to make this happen and they are not doing yet. >> thank you would appreciate your insight here in fashion and that would be the would-be assassin was one quarter mile away from president trump 300 — five in yours former secret service agent joining us now and richard, to jason's point, we have a hundreds of tears that have entered this country through our southern border and that is for joe biden's own dhs. in addition of more than 12 million people that are unfettered and so jason think the point come up with if this was three or four shooters and what if this was a team effort in the secret service protective former president went he golfs her out an rally if you have not one shooter my three or four shooters and what you do to show
7:56 pm
the american people that this cannot happening yet in any capacity. >> will the answer to that joe, no you can't as evidenced by the last two incidences today and when humans ago the secret service in the palm and security supplier not taking president trump seriously and he needs to be afforded the level of protection from the level of assets, manpower and resources, that are afforded to the sitting president of the united states. to continue to pursue president trump is that he's just another former present or a candidate, simply is not working. this is not just for president trump's sake the somebody who just mention a few minutes ago, that is for all of the people around him not just one guy and i believe you asked a few minutes ago, to the secret service recommend the president trump not go out to the public anymore as you know playful anymore, he asserted that is no, hit is not the job of the secret service to tell protective
7:57 pm
pretty gleason but you may become the next president of the united states, that he cannot go somewhere. is a job of the secret service to secure that he met and secure that building, secure that site to the utmost of their limits that they possibly can and is simply is not being done and inspector when he describes the bureaucratic fiasco and yes souls the leadership of the secret service and the leadership specifically sec. alejandro mayorkas and they are not taking it seriously and they're not importing president trump the level of security that is worthy that the secret service should be given for legally in light of the fact that his agency with a $3.6 billion budget, these people doing and where are the guys and where did this money go what is being used for enough of the production of the leading candidate, the next president of the united states. >> richard, jason was talking about this was not particularly creative and we look at this
7:58 pm
would be snipers there with a couple of bags and again and slime. is there a certain aspect here that even the most predictable possibilities are being taken care of. >> yes, the most basic kinds of what the secret service should be doing begun by the wayside, whether is not putting a human on top of a roof that is 150 years later nonemployee dog walking fence line of that golf course, that the president has been through probably a million times previously since leaving office and virtually admitted that golf course many times as i know the layout of the place like the back of my hand. to not have dogs on the outside, not have manpower on the other side of the fence, to not have street shut down, why did no one check the brush lying to make sure nobody was in the bushes. that is most basic things in this not something you see the movie, this is not something that requires you know years of
7:59 pm
planning and his sniper training. the guy was lying in the bushes with an ak-47. that should've been on the forefront of everyone's mind, some recently walks up to the fence and highs in the bushes. nearly nobody asked the question which leaves me to ask one of these guys doing. >> just to pick up on the conversation you're having with molly here from the sheriff's in the news conference today, that's rubbery somebody can get in and out of their easily without being seen. this seems like something he could've seen ahead of time. >> that's exactly right and i know for a fact and i agree with that sheriff, because my somebody was a little guy would crawl underneath of the bushes and retrieve golf balls live a seven -year-old can do that, there's a reason that assyria cannot play out exactly like it did today. but somewhere along the line, the secret service is broken, why these very basic situations are being played out are not be
8:00 pm
the basic situations that is i security survey should be built around, is beyond me. this speaks to the lack of leadership and foresight on behalf of the senior leadership at the u.s. secret service know people are being allowed to resign with impunity. i would happen today what happened to month ago, people just going to be afforded the opportunity to simply walk away from the job we know professions inches this is absolutely unacceptable. >> we thank you richard so much for your expertise today and appreciated in the second hour a big weekend show, against right now. >> how far away was the president was donald trump when this gentleman was caught? >> are probably between three and 500 yards. both the rifle and a scope like that, that is not a long distance. >> hello everyone i'm molly line

along with charlie hurt and joe concha. welcome to the big we can show the big story height second assassination attempt on former president donald trump. the republican presidential candidate says he is safe and well after being targeted while golfing at the trump international golf club in west palm beach this afternoon the suspected gunman's car was pulled over by martin county police he was taken into custody. also found at the scene the shots were fired were weapons. hanging on a fence there were two bags of goat pro and a long gone over two months ago the former president survived versus attempt during his rally in butler, pennsylvania. former president h president had to the shooting writing there were gunshots in my vicinity. before rumor starts spiraling out of control, i wanted you to hear this first. i am safe and well. nothing will slow me down, i
8:02 pm
will never surrender. joining us now is host and former chief of staff to attorney general edward meese and the reagan administration thank you for coming on this evening. i just want to start getting your insights what has been a truly remarkable day. >> let's start this way. who is in charge? who is in charge? we don't have any idea who is in charge of. who is in charge of protecting a presidential candidate in this country? we can talk about the secret service, the fbi, dhs. listen to all of your great post with their tremendous experience and it is a fascinating to me i am a little older i served in the reagan administration eyes chief of staff to attorney general meese. what let me tell you what would've happened in that administration but ronald reagan would've picked up the phone, they would've called attorney general meese he would've said you are in charge of getting to
8:03 pm
the bottom of this you've got 48 hours to do it. meese, who i worked next to it would have called the treasury secretary, who would've called every department that has any role in federal law enforcement, fbi reports to him, he would've struck christopher right up there was brought them all in secret service, secretary of dhs. would've been the situation room with the department of justice. ed meese would've said to all this gathered you better gd get to the bottom of this year 48 hours to report to me and i want to know how you're going to fix this. and i want to know right away how you are going to fix this. twice on our watch, never. instead we have very wise people who works at the fbi, worked at secret service who worked in local law enforcement, where's the secret servi secret servicen records the fbi? no one is a charge because we have a president of the united states who is mentally
8:04 pm
incapacitated with the vice president of the united states who is incompetent in way over her head. we have an attorney general of the united states who just held about violence and he is in that witness protection program the top three people in charge of law enforcement in the united states of america two of those tweeted one did nothing. this is not about to eating i'm so glad president trump as well. isn't that nice? the executive branch is run by the president of the united states. number two the vice president of the united states ultimately the attorney general of the united states they are all awol. they are nowhere. it's perfectly fine if we keep banging heads about the head of the secret service they had of the fbi these are bureaucrats mostly. mayorkas we know it he is he is a complete incompetent buffoon. but where is the president, the
8:05 pm
vice president who wants to be president and the attorney general? who was on absolutely nothing to get his hands around this. i am tell you this is someone who served wit at the highest ll of the department of justice. justice would not sit back and wait for a local special agent in charge of miami to take over. they'd be sending guys in the from washington d.c. and meese would have wanted a report every hour on the hour. he would want to know what we were going to do to fix this and i can also tell you the first time around this would have happened had ed meese been the attornattorney general and reagn the president of the united states. this is all evidence to me when i listen to everybody and they're all fantastic but it's all evidence to me of keystone cops who is in charge of what? it depends for this one should'shouldhave done that, no. we need a general who is in charge and says i want to know who screwed up?
8:06 pm
i want to know what were going to do to fix this next time but what resources we need and i do not want to hear again the secret service does not have resources. or five african trillion dollars in debt with this administration may be a bit of a climate change of money or money going to illegal aliens may be that money could have been moved into the secret service. i have no idea. we have no time to figure all of that out we have 50 days until a presidential election. it is joe biden seen that concern tonight? where is he? does kamala harris seem concerned she tweeted, isn't that nice? i tweeted too, so what are the attorney general of the united states to they'd se the scene tn tonight? no. they don't give a you know what they will not take charge of this for the executive branch is running adrift that is what's happening. every part of it including the best parts about the federal law enforcement parts of it, they are not running adrift. i speak as a former person who
8:07 pm
served at th the highest level e department of justice. >> oakmark, charlie hurt here. obviously you are exactly right about president biden being completely mia and has been for a long time in the presidency. we are it sort of it back at this at -- aft -- mccafferty bu, pennsylvania shooting there is this professed unity or president biden and others talked about how the going to lower the rhetoric. but now we are back to where you have democrats issuing tweets saying they're glad the guy they called last week hitler, survived another assassination attempt. it strikes me that maybe they didn't really mean it when they said it six weeks ago. >> of course i don't mean it if you watch msnbc for about 15 minutes the hate and that drizzle and the contempt that pours out of their pores from joy read and don't get me started with.
8:08 pm
cnn, so contemptible every time the mention trump's name they have a constipated look on their face like it is unbearable. the way you have prosecutors talk about donald trump elected prosecutors and a garland of pointed prosecutor. the things they say are so horrendous with some of these judges have to say the democrat party controls the culture, they controllcontrol the media they l the propaganda they now control many of the court systems and that is exactly what you are seeing. you aryou're seeing a one-party monopolistic system. people have written about this long before me gone to these various regimes the tell tele terry and double terms age old terms trump is always the devil. how harris is the angel. you can see this endless of propaganda and contempt. and by the way they hate you and me too. they made it that hate at least
8:09 pm
half the country. so of course this contributes to the nut jobs out there and so forth. but still, i don't know how much we can do to fix that. i do know we can do something to fix the executive branch. with got to boot these people out as fast as possible we need to fumigate them when you get people in there who are serious public servants and civil servants we need to put competent people in senior positions. we need to take the fbi back pruning to take all of these federal agencies in particular the police agencies back. wanting to take the department of justice back and we can do that because right now they are completely and utterly either ouout-of-control or rudderless . >> mark, it's a joke contra i'm going to read a quote from lester holt reporting on this assassination attempt again the second and 64 days. here's what he said tonight on the nbc nightly news. you'll get a real kick out of this quote today's apparent assassination attempt comes amid
8:10 pm
increasingly fierce rhetoric on the campaign trail mr. trump,'s runnihis running mate jd vance continues to make baseless claims about immigrants in springfield, ohio resulting in a bomb threat. in other words it is trump's fault somebody tried to shoot him today because something said about springfield, ohio which has had an influx of thousands upon thousands of haitian immigrants to their town and trump brings that up and jd vance brings that up there for that's what's leading this up or i will let you go from here because i cannot believe i just saw my now on the nbc nightly news. >> sickening, absolutely sickening. i thought it was all the democrats and the anti-semitism. i thought it was the democrats and anti- israel but thought is all the democrats hunting down jews on the universities and college campuses. i thought they were the problem but i thought it was all the ill immigrants raping, murdering, selling into slavery women and children. maybe lester holt has a
8:11 pm
difficulty of adjusting facts around. the more i'm reading and getting information he may have been an anti-semite. i do not know what he is we will get the fact that lester holt did not have an effect. if you try to do a google search of the number of times and donain donaldtrump is called hik your computer it would melt down. i think your computer it would melt down to dumb down what hitler is in order to try internal listen, they've been trying to turn trump into a nonhuman. that is with the been trying to do from the beginning the dehumanizing ham and they've been doing this and they've written about this in two books the way they treat him, the way they talk about him their facial actions and so forth and so on. in that debate with kamala harris is more of the same the facial tics, you are a disgrace, you are a disgrace to late not substantive how he is a threat. just stupid things in charlottesville charlottesvillee
8:12 pm
laws lies want to run against a character they want to create a character. the culture is very sick due to the media. i do not want to miss the fact the problem going on it federal law enforcement today it's at the top it's at the very, very top with the president, with harris, with merrick garland for those of the three who are responsible for what takes place. they are in charge. not anybody else that is why everybody's running around the keystone cops who is who' who in charge of what? thank you so much for being here. as you know the acting u.s. secret service director ronald rowe gave an update to senators on thursday and the internal investigation from the july 13 assassination attempt in senator blumenthal told fox folks are going to be shocked and appalled and astonished. i would argue they already are. how are americans supposed to absorb the findings of that
8:13 pm
investigation we are now going to be learning so much more about this latest attempt? it seems so much for the american people. >> we are grownups here. we really have a way to deal with this in mos and most regimo not. the safety destroyed our economy and our border are destroying law enforcement destroying our military. the same people destroying our alliances are destroying our fbi and secret service and department of justice and department appellant security. they're good at one thing, they are consistent. and so if you want to fix it our constitution gives you an option the option is to kick them out of office we don't have the sort of thing four years ago. not any of these areas i talk about we have it now is completely out of control the only way to deal with that right now is we have 50 days is in 50
8:14 pm
days of waiting to deal with it. it's one thing for we as citizens to whine about the stuff i want people to him about thomas paine one thing to remember about polar view of the say what can i do? you can do a lot. you are the paul revere's in the thomas paint you need to talk to 10 people, you need to make sure you get people to vote early we cannot be relying on political parties to get out to vote should. we have to get out to about it now we have 50 days to try and fix this. right now. >> mark, for all of us thank you so much for being here tonight and sharing your perspective we appreciate it. mark levin. write out fbi's collecting evidence outside of trump national golf club that is where danamarie mcnicholl is tonight. we are still waiting for
8:15 pm
danamarie mcnicholl to get her information. paul, i want to go to you actually if we can to continue this conversation. some of the point mark was making he really hammered on this idea of leadership. americans went leadership right now and they are not seeing it. click it beggars belief we still have not gotten a press conference from mayorkas relative to the failings of the secret service. but we should have gotten his first of all his very early in the game after butler but subsequent to that there should have been a press conference about how the service under him is being rebuilt and the measures that were taken to fix what was clearly a flaw it seems that only in our current regime do these flaws seem to fall by the way said in the cutting room floor and no one seems to care think about the signal it sends to our adversaries if we get to apparent clowns who are a low

level to manage to almost do with it almost did here not an butler put down in florida what is it say in iran? what does it say two or more radicalized enemies around the world? what it says is america's know it used to be we don't have to worry about these guys they do not seem to be able to protect one of their main vips who may y well be the next president. of american stature, american status and the fact that we could do this if you are sitting or let's have the shiny and the russians are we don't have to worry about these guys would you be worried comment to my point earlier and asked mark this dennis jason this as well a 20-year-old outflank the entire secret service the local police in butler, pennsylvania and getting on that roof. the best line of sight you could possibly imagine, hid a rifle behind an air conditioner went back and got it and got up there in trump does not turn his head to read a chart that he never
8:17 pm
reached during a speech, he is dead right now. the 20-year-old outflank the secret service. now we have this situation someone is waiting for him at the sixth hole and thank god there is one secret service individual who spotted him. what if the iranians and said let's send in a team five, six, seven people to take out trump. i don't see how they stop this from happening at this point. >> into your point should we have -- there is no shortage i'm going to use this dullness term of useful idiots on the ground in america would only be too happy to facilitate. reverse the roles imagine how to plan an operation in tehran or in beijing and moscow but think how hard that would be for you if you did not have somebody on the ground to help you or if you are sitting with the adversaries that you are talking about suits happening on the campuses of ripe pickings seem to have some
8:18 pm
funding or relative to the groups that are protesting on campus. look, noticing the groups on campus tried to kill donald trump. i'm not making that connection when i am saying if you are sitting where those adversaries are they know they have better reach in. when you consider the border as an overlay i did 15 years of counterterrorism post 911. i can say when somebody showed up on a set who we knew nothing about, had no important friction coming into the country no biometrics there was no footprint every alarm bell went off who is this guy? or did he come from? you got a name the name does not come back from here to washington everybody's the put surveillance you do all kinds of stuff within the law to make sure your button that person up you put them to bed at night. we got 20 million of those that just came into the country brick works following along on this one of the hallmarks the sad hallmarks of 911 it was carried out by a bunch of people who
8:19 pm
were holding a box cutters. it was the most rudimentary player you could possibly imagine any fast forward to this 20 years later 23 years later and you are wondering so we are writing by a luck again? have we learned nothing? what's it seems that way when you consider the world is getting smaller and more dangerous the old battles are still going on all the stuff he fed all of our lives. think about if you are sitting where if donald trump becomes a present for four years to exact revenge. so if donald trump gets in the got to know is going to be cleaning this up because we cannot count on anyone else. there seems to be no sense of urgency. >> a do not need to wait for him to be present for the take our veterans. for example int nt if i'm thereo have until 20 january if it were to come to that. and if again if you are sitting where they are the message is it's not that hard. >> how concerned should we be we
8:20 pm
are price and the bravery of the secret service agent that was a head by a whole and the people got to the car how concerned should we be about potential booby-traps and other people involved with this individual ryan wesley routh? >> as we saw in the case out in butler he had some ied's. fortunately they were not active until he did n they did not go . you always have to allow for that. the general saying is you have to assume they stop people with him he's got people who will help them and that there could be something that could detonate if you go in the room to fast et cetera. you do have to assume that and saved yourself according to the reporting we are getting, and hs not from the area. you've got to wonder what his support network was, how do we keep a heart and soul together? was he working? where's the money coming from these questions are all going to be asked to print right now you don't have the quick answers it looks like some of the answers
