the ocean making their way toward the east coast and gulf coast, it might be too late for them to avoid getting tangled up in a potential strike if one were to happen. one analyst telling fox business those vessels have no good options left if a strike happens, those vessels en route will likely be forced to wait off shore for the ports to reopen. some commodities impacted by the strike include petroleum. pharmaceuticals. vehicle and vehicle parts. auto industry is very concerned. the president of the auto care association tells fox business the after market industry alone generates more than 392 bill dollars a year. he is raising concerns about access to maintenance and repairs for consumers across the country and we just got a statement from one of the big three automakers telling us they're closely monitoring the situation and taking actions to minimize any impact. back to you. >> bill: we'll watch it.

secret service to be able to thwart what could have been a tragedy on sunday. let's go over what former president trump currently has secret service-wise. the same protection package as the vice president harris and president biden. they all received counter snipers, drones, counter surveillance, protective intelligence and counter assault teams. the difference is biden as a sitting president travels with department of defense communications, satellites and the nuclear launch codes. harris has access to those communications as well. trump does not or do other former presidents. >> the secret service did a great job. they saw the barrel of a gun, big gun, and it came out through bushes and how many people would see that? he really was very exceptional to have done it and we've been going through a lot of it. we're getting very good at it. >> meanwhile the suspect over the weekend sitting in a florida jail cell waiting for a sentencing hearing. a criminal complaint was

released. a formal indictment is forthcoming. sources are quiet whether he is cooperating. more charges are possible. two investigations are going on at capitol hill looking at what went wrong july 13th and what the agency can do better. they are expected to be scathing. and an investigation in what the secret service can do better. >> dana: retired nypd inspector paul mauro and attorney who went to the rally last night. we'll get to that in a moment. listen to president trump who stopped at a bar last night having a crypto event. he was asked if he feels safe. >> do you feel safe, mr. president? are you looking at any private security in addition? >> i feel very safe. i have the top of the line people.

they needed more people. now they have them. they have been given that. i guess it's presidential level and based on the poll numbers i guess you have to do that. we're leading in just about every poll and we have to be safe. we really have to be safe for the country. >> dana: do you think the adjustments and enhancements secret service made are enough? >> there are counter fact to always here. the main press conference that had representatives from all the agencies, the sheriff came out who led the press conference and said it was not the case and he didn't have the package that he had when he was sitting president. so i don't know what to make of that. that sheriff certainly seemed informed. in fact, he has donald trump's home within his jurisdiction and and -- i assume he is up on that. either the package in place for a sitting president maybe isn't entirely adequate. while this was a spontaneous event, the idea that donald

trump was going to go right by that aperture in the hedge line and somebody in a position to take a direct shot at him is very troubling. that said, under the conditions that were there, you cannot take away the acute alertness of that agent to see that barrel of that gun. he really averted something there and that's what the service is expected to do. as i've been saying on the air, i see this as something of a bureaucratic flaw or failure but an individual people on the ground, service agents, braved, trained agents on the ground success. that's a distinction. they still need to look bureaucratically at this event and make some adjustments. >> bill: you were at the rally last night on long island. ironically, yesterday was the 18th, right? that was the original sentencing date here in new york, right? they had planned this date to be in new york and stuck with it.

>> dana: good point. >> bill: you talked to a number of people in the crowd last night. here is part of what you found. watch. >> what brings you out? >> trump brings me out. i'm a big supporter of trump. >> here at the rally, we're from new york. >> on the border is the biggest issue. people are afraid all the time. crime is going up. >> economy. people can't afford groceries. >> bill: bryan llenas was out there, too. where are these folks from? were they from new york or out of state >> i talked to ten people. all ten people are from long island. >> this was a long island crowd. the nuances, nassau has tilted blue and it is very strongly red now. donald trump did that. so did the county executive named bruce blakeman who flipped the seat and responsible for helping put this event together

and he has consolidated that county as being a red area and long island in general now is very strongly red. the atmosphere i would separate atmosphere from substance just assessing the rally. different from watching it on television. the atmosphere is there is a feeling of liberation, release. you can feel the pent up energy in the room coming out. 18,000 people there who just want a moment to say you know what? we're not the bad guys as we've been told all these years by the mainstream media and i have 18,000 friends who feel the same way. people are hugging, people in costumes and seeing old friends. when he comes out the place explodes. i've been to concerts in that place and just this loud. substantially he made some interesting points, though. within all the applause line. he plays the crowd like the conductor. he builds to an applause line.

there is policy. he talked about the fact -- we've talked about this on the air. he wants to put together task forces to combat migrant crime gangs. he made the distinction between the migrants and gangs he wants to go after with a task force. talked about that. he named specific victims and they were all women. something else we've talked about of the migrant crime gangs. a little bit outside my purview but talked about the tariff issue and announced something that i hadn't heard called a reciprocal trade act and pin tariffs that we put to what other nations do to us and make it commensurate. there was some policy points in there. you need the substance to send people away satisfied but he builds to that ending crescendo, the place explodes and everybody goes away happy. we did the interviews in the parking lot. it was fun, great energy and the people were great. >> bill: you got to sleep at home, too. >> i did.

places like georgia, north carolina, arizona. how has michigan changed? >> so you saw the auto worker for trump just a little bit ago on your program. that is completely different. he is getting 65 and 70% of auto workers saying they will vote for us. we encounter that in the small manufacturing facilities that feed into the big uaw building plants. we have a million -- over the million people building internal combustion engine parts and things to build a car. those folks are starting to drift to a republican because they see the problem and the damage that the democrats have done to the industry in the state. it is 40% less labor. do a straight math problem. 1.1 million people building gas engine cars, take 40%, 400,000 manufacturing jobs out of the state of michigan because of the e.v. mandates. they are saying this is not for me. >> bill: they are talking about it. >> it is a big issue in

michigan. >> dana: importing more food than we produce. i come from a ranching background. neither the dnc or rnc, neither convention was their mentions of farmers and ranchers and what they are going through. why are they being ignored? >> it is costing them. i got the farm bureau endorsement this week. they haven't endorsed a republican since 2006 for this seat. we talked to farmers, we're trying to understand exactly what's going on. regulatory environment that washington, d.c. is putting on these farmers will put them out of business. now they are talking about the increasing the estate tax. what farmers care about is their kids and grandkids. they want to be able to produce enough food and i hope they make some money to stay in business and they want to pass it on to their kids. democrats are saying you can't do that. you are a terrible rich person. 140,000 farms have gone away, family farms. we have 45,000 left in michigan.
