hack into the trump campaign. stole information, and tried to share it with what was then the biden/harris campaign. listen to former president trump talking about it last night. >> this is foreign election interference. this is election interference, not the phony crap they have tried to pin on me with russia, russia, russia for years. >> this comes from the harris walz campaign. a few individuals were attacked with a spam or phishing attempt. and the fbi says that they are trying to leek documents through the media. the harris campaign says they have a robust cyber security measure in place that protects them from this kind of thing. but the attorney general, you

crucial. we will be listening for further news or details that they will provide. >> john: gillian will be bringing that too us too. we will talk with mike pompeo about this, why iran might want to help out the harris campaign. we will go over them with the former secretary in a little while. >> sandra: looking forward to that, john. >> clearly we are safer today than we have been in the last few decades. >> given the attacks in the united states, from domestic terrorists, this should be one of our priorities. >> i don't want to see any more charges. all i care about is how does this go away. >> we are caught in the political jargon right now. that should not happen trying to protect american citizens. >> there are challenges all over the world. and i understand that there is domestic terrorism around. but the bottom line is that this threat didn't have to happen. the drastic differences between 2021 and now is unmanageable.

showing a 3,000 percent increase in the number of individuals caught between the ports of entry matching the terror watch list. the majority in the san diego sector, where this resident shot this video on saturday night. it comes after former san diego border patrol chief testified yesterday, that the administration muzzled him from disclosing terror watch list information. >> in san diego, we had an exponential increase in significant interest aliens. i was told not to increase information on the sias or mention the arrests. the administration was trying to convince the public there was no threat at the border. >> john this comes after cbp denied the requests seeking only the nationalities of the terror watch list suspects with cbp citing privacy, and sensitivity concerns. and one of the most alarming take aways from the hearing was
10:07 am
that no one could say if and how many of the 2 million known got aways could be on the terror watch list. >> how would you have that? we don't know how they got into the country other than crossing the border. >> a lot of frightening prospects about what lies in the dark. >> john: a lot of unknown, unknowns as well. griff, thank you. >> sandra: thank you, john. host of making money on fbn. charles good to have you here. you are digging into the angle. what does all this illegal immigration, massive amounts of migrants coming into the country, what does this mean for unemployment and jobs in this country. here is jay powell on that. >> if you have millions of people come into the labour force and you are creating a hundred thousand jobs, you are going to see unemployment go up. it really depends on the trend
10:08 am
underlying the volatility of people coming into the country. there has been an influence across the boarders and that has been -- borders and that has allowed the unemployment rate to rise. >> sandra: you and i have reported on unemployment for quite some time. you are only for the record in to the unemployment rate if you are someone actively looking for work. you may have migrants that are not actively looking for work. so give me your assessment, how does this all work and how does it look to you? >> well, we have this -- we had this -- let's start with the amount of jobs open. a record amount of jobs were open for a long time and those numbers are coming down. they were filled in part by migrants. a lot of illegal entries. so that did two things. it kept the wage pressures down, and helped to keep the unemployment down. but what jay powell is saying,
10:09 am
between now and next years, the feds are determined to keep the unemployment rate at 4.4%. it is at 4.3% right now. right now wall street believes he can do it. but as the job opens fade away and fewer jobs are created each month -- because a lot of economists early this year tried to put a happy face on illegal immigration. >> sandra: they are trying to say they fill jobs that other american jobs would not otherwise fill, right. >> not only that, economists were thrilled that they would keep the wages down. >> sandra: mm-hmm. >> so if an american wants the job for $20 an hour, and an illegal says i will do it for 10, economists say that's a good thing because it keeps inflation down. that argument fades away quickly in an environment, where by the way, one of the things that powell said yesterday, is that the jobs reports, the first one, it is fake news. he says he expects these

revisions to go on and on and on. and he is looking for massive revisions. the numbers in august, 132,000. more likely it is going to be 90,000 or something like that. so the jobs market is imploding right now. they have a 66% participation rate in immigration. and then if that number gets higher and higher -- >> sandra: that is in line with the labour participation rate for u.s. born americans. >> it is a little bit better. >> sandra: okay. yeah. so that's actually pretty good. >> it is good in that sense but it is not good in the sense that if 30% of people coming into this country aren't working, who is paying their rent. >> sandra: let's talk about statistics. because this is by measure, provided to us by the wall street journal. immigrant outpacing u.s. born

citizens for low income jobs to your point earlier. so u.s. born workers are in the yellow there, recent immigrant are in the red. they are filling construction positions. maids and housekeeping cleaners. cooking roles. so you can see this as a good thing, right, because they are getting to work. but you can make the case that they are taking jobs from american born citizens. >> this is my argument against this. and i use the bridge in baltimore. that ship crashed into a bridge in baltimore. five workers died. they were all -- all from three different central american countries. it was a tragedy. baltimore has an unemployment rate, in black males. they don'

to do any of the jobs you put up there. i don't think that's a good thing. i think that americans should want to work and find a way to get on the economic ladder to success, so this whole thing needs to be blownup. >> sandra: so whether you are making the case that there is a bigger political, societal, economic problem that is happening here. clearly former president trump running if pr office is seizing on what he has seen. to your point, he said this at yesterday's rally, listen. >> together we will secure the borders, we will protect our workers, we will defend our jobs. we will rebuild our country with american skill and american pride, and american labour. >> sandra: because right now, poll after poll shows that people's top concerns are inflation, high prices, the economy, and immigration. and he is jumping in the polls for people who think he is the candidate to get ahold of the situation. >> the key part is the skills part. we have to work on the skills

washington, d.c., just down the street, teamsters leadership is afraid of democrats in washington d.c. they are afraid of aoc that was fuming about the nonendorsement of kamala harris. saying they have done so much for the union. they should rethink this. but they are out of touch with the rank and file. and on election day, the kamala harris campaign has to be worried in places like michigan, and pennsylvania, wisconsin on issues that the unions care about, given that the rank and file is not planning to vote for her. >> john: you mentioned other polls as well. there was a phone poll conducted in between the democratic convention and september 15th. it was worse for harris. trump led in that one 58%. but let's see about the reaction not to endorse. >> we interviewed both candidates and we were seeking commitments from both candidates and couldn't get solid commitments on core issues.

one of the better sheriffs around. the sheriff has commented that he is receiving additional local police support, and so yeah, there seemed to be a disconnect on what was being requested for local police support before the second attempt, and now. and that's why, you know, john what i am saying is we have to look at all of these policies and procedures that have been in place. i never thought in my first two years i would be appointed to an assassination task force in congress, let alone, while only serving for 30 days on the task force, talking about a second attempt. something is clearly wrong. that doesn't mean there are not great women and men, heros serving in the secret service. it means as a system, as bureaucracy, we have to figure out what is not working and fix those problems. >> john: well, i will tell you, whoever the agent was, we don't know who it was, that spotted the gun barrel deserves an award.

no question about that. >> no question. >> john: the acting secret service director says maybe it is time to rethink the security protocols. listen to what he said. >> the secret service operates under a paradox of zero fail mission, but also that we have done more with less, for decades. and this goes back many, many decades. we have to get out of a reactive model and get to a readiness model. >> john: what do you think of that, they are in reactive mode right now, protecting the president if a threat emerges, but they need to get to a readiness model, where threats like this would have been eliminated before the president teed up on the first hole. >> obviously i find the comment slightly concerning. what do you mean that the secret service is not proactive, it is only in the response model? i am a former emergency management director of the state of florida. you do a lot of mitigation on the front end, and then response on the back end. and so look, if resources are a

problem, i think congress will meet the moment and will give the interim director, the new director resources. but the former director that testified in the house which was disastrous for her, which is why she is no longer the director in addition to the failures on her watch -- she never talked about a resource problem. so this is new. this is something new that they are talking about, that they have a resource problem. and that's fine. we will get them more resources but it is not just a resource problem, john. there is a protocol and procedure problem. and the secret service director is admitting that in his answer. >> john: as you point out, getting new resources will take months if not years and the election will be over long before then. let's hope that both candidates make it to the final lap there. congressman, good to get your thoughts. >> thank you, john, appreciate it. >> john: sandra. >> sandra: failing young children when it comes to teaching them reading and math, but wait until you hear what
