over to the secret service headquarters for that press conference which begins in an hour. acting director ron rowe is expected to say he's gonna throw out a lot of the secret service playbook that may or may not have worked every scene starts completely new. it's also going to give us a 5-page summary of a look in the noa merritt report of what the secret service did wrong in the days leading up to and on july 13th when the former president was almost assassinated when he was shot in the ear. an excerpt of rowe's remarks, it's apparent he's ready to hold someone accountable. the findings have prompted the service to move into the accountability phase of the process. the office of professional responsibility and office of integrity are reviewing the findings by the agency has among the most robust table of penalties and the federal government and violations of policy will result in disciplinary action. trump, biden, and harris have protected intel and counter

assault teams. president biden is a sitting president. trump with the department of defense. a nuclear launch codes. within the last 35 or 40 minutes, the house voted unanimously for hundred five were in the chamber-0 to give presidential candidates the same protection as presidents. candidates obviously won't have nuclear launch codes, department of defense communications. they will have the exact same protection going forward if it passes the senate -- which it is supposed to. if the president signs it -- it sounds like he will. >> thank you very much. i appreciate that. pete, let's talk about the deficiencies that we know about the secret service. we know they are down at least 1,500 employees. we found that out at the first hearing and only hearing with now resigned kimberly cheatle atop the food chain at the secret service. we have the man who took her job about to speak and what we know now is that they have not fired anybody. they have sidelined a few people.

>> they have slow walk a lot of other people and capitol hill that we have heard from recently who simply believe the public deserve to know. ronald rowe had a big opportunity out of the gate. he has missed that opportunity big time. he had a come -- he became more of a defensive company man too early. we will see what this investigation says. investigation the same things i reveal. crt gender stuff going on inside how they are picking and processing who they are hiring and who they are promoting. that should have nothing to do with secret service. only should be a meritocracy focused on that. this report is overdue. the intention should have been on this and stayed on this. i'm glad capitol hill has done that. i still don't have much faith that the secret service will be honest on how deep the paintings are. >> molly, it is surreal to think that we are not focused on the first assassination attempt of the nation's 45th president. now we have a second one. i don't want to get us too far

upfield where we lose sight of the importance of things. god forbid there be anything else happen when we lose sight of what happened two months ago. >> that is why it has been so frustrating to look into the first assassination attempt which was so important. the idea would be to get to the bottom of things quickly to ensure you don't see another assassination attempt. before we have this press conference, we see the rifle coming through the fence line in florida. you have to ask, was this assessed quickly enough to know what needed to be done to ensure it didn't happen it is happened again. there's a second attempt was already made on the former president's life. it's nice to hear they are talking about money and there's an agreement going on that things need to change. all well and good. i question is, when you get to the level where it is check the bushes level of involvement in protecting this former president and any candidate? it would be really horrific for the country to have something happen.

exactly. that's the point to getting to the bottom of this quickly. many of the answers have come from congress from whistle-blowers. that needs to change as well. >> from people's cell phones who thought they were going to a rally in butler, pennsylvania. now they have evidence on their phone and so on and so forth. the thing that really disturbs me even to the money. cheryl, 40% of resources for the budget of the uss s, secret service is going to actually protecting people. this is what i learned from fbi last hour. he said there's a lot of duplication and overlap with the fbi and other agencies for the other 60% where that money is going. it also may going to protecting everybody. other agencies could do where they are putting 60% of their money. >> kimberly cheatle blames the staffing issue. they have a $3 billion plus budget right now. we learned in any interview from secretary mayorkas, he wants more money per the answers to to

throw more money at the problem. that is not the problem. if the initiatives within the agency and poor management infrastructure. they do need new technology. i would like to see them get better technology equipment there that's part of the ask in the budget request, mayorkas and better transportation services. honestly, if this was a company on the way i look at a lot of government agencies in my role that i play on fox business, i'm telling you something. go to the top. this all starts from the top. that is mayorkas. this is a management failure. there's lots of great agents out there. i was so glad that former president trump when he was on "cut felt" " -- >> these are amazing individuals. they work really hard. i think they are being mismanaged. >> i have often wondered why they don't bring some veterans back from the united states secret service. even if it were just on a short-term part-time basis, bring them back as consultant so we can do better. they broke their promise when

they said they were doing the first investigation so it wouldn't happen again. molly pointed out, they were wrong. they broke their promise. all right, the way from the fbi, chris told me, the way they are handling this has been clunky and that it is a hot wash investigation. just like nothing to see here. >> i can tell you this. senator blumenthal said what he has learned about the happenings of butler, pennsylvania, will leave you shocked and appalled for those of the words of a democratic senator. i believe that is the case. we are going to hear about accountability today that is laughable. ronald rowe was the deputy for kim cheatle who is the head of the secret service during butler, pennsylvania. kim cheatle wasn't fired. kim cheatle got to resign and go out to where she's going to go. probably a great private sector job the facts are this, why did donald trump not have presidential level of protection to begin with after one assassination attempt? i don't believe he did. if you did, you would've had an

emergency response team of dogs searching the bushes for people. there would have been a counter surveillance unit looking at the side streets making sure no one came in. i am sick of hearing this word from ronald rowe. we keep hearing about eight "paradigm shift" during monday's news conference coming out of butler and i have ordered a paradigm shift. your paradigm shift allowed a guy to get 500 feet on the former president with a rifle with snacks from 1:59:00 a.m. it is expected to use those same words. directing a paradigm shift. here's the question. those donald j. trump have time to wait for your paradigm shift? the answer appears to be no. >> we talked about maybe some more technology. i understand from what the administration has said and what the secret service are saying. now trump has the exact same protection as biden. he would have those drones in all that technology. what are your thoughts about

that? shouldn't they have been there before? >> does he really? did they really dig into whether or not there was animus and pushed back to the request for additional resources from the trump team before that first assassination? that deserves to be known. the initial denials. they had exactly what they wanted. no, they didn't. every time you ask of you realize there were things that the trump team requested which they did not receive our people who were not secret service agents -- will be get a full accounting of how they were treated like a second-class candidate before that? we deserve to know those answers. accountability for those decisions back then. >> went good receipt on how they weren't honest with us in the beginning is that they have those in place. how can you put something into place that you said was already there? coming up, vice president kamala harris' star-studded sit

she did a fine job. democrats say she did a great job and republican said she did the job she had to do and trump took some bait. no one fact-checker appeared at the job includes misinformation and disinformation, she nailed it. you know, you mentioned oprah and celebrities. oprah has nothing to lose this time. when she backed obama and did all the fanfare for him, her show was in jeopardy at that point. she had a huge empire that was before us. she is still very successful. she doesn't have that daily show on network anymore. it is interesting. she could really jump in and endorse her -- which she has done with both feet. throwing caution to the wind. how much does that make a difference? today compared to when she was propping up barack obama's all the world would get to know this man who spoke at one convention at that point and bend a senator for a heartbeat. who is this guy?

will run with it. they won't check it. she's got plenty of protection. she likes to take the guns away from everyone that doesn't have the protection that she has. if you look at the political timeline, where are we in the political timeline? we are in the messianic phase of the political timeline. the veil has dropped. what changed about you, harris? the answer she gave in this means she believes it at this point. kamala harris said this. i see this movement as i like to see saying in the face of a stranger, a neighbor. yes, yes. an extension of love thy neighbor. you look in the face of a stranger and you see a neighbor. like a secular jesus. when you see a stranger, politically you will now see a neighbor and we will all get along. it's the hope and change wrapped up again in a bunch of joy ambitions. what did she say? ambitions, aspirations, hope,

unburden. >> jesus is not secular. >> the messianic version. we are in that phase. what is next? beyonce concerts. taylor swift concerts is probably next. >> that is the predictable type of thing. no surprise oprah doing an interview. we all knew where she stood. this was more of a friendly campaign event. there was a moment where there were two young people that asked harris a direct question about the economy about what she could do to help their lives. she gave this sort of long-winded answer before she got to repeating what she said previously throwing and price gouging as if that is what landed us here. not something that would directly impact their lives. that is a challenge where she gets even the most friendly of atmospheres gets tagged with this direct question. what are you going to do? and comes out with these long-winded answers. >> they need details. thus far, we do not have many.

say it. trump should highlighted even more. >> we know of one program that has brought in 15,000 haitian migrants that are in the heart right now of a lot of pain and explosive type of council city meetings and city council meetings in springfield, ohio. that is a program under the biden-harris administration coordinated to bring in an unknown number that they gave us one number here recently. 15,000 of those are in a town that had 58,000. >> there is another story in pennsylvania that had 2500 haitian migrants. the one that's more than 50% there they waved a magic wand and gave them a legal status. how about the flight from central america? is a lot of these things happening that they don't want us to know about. >> one of the things that caught my attention when it came to the border was when jerome powell gave his press conference after he got the interest rates by half a point. one of the reasons unemployment is jumping in this country is

because of all the undocumented workers and the 10 million people that are now in this country. i was surprised by him making that admission. it was a very honest admission he made in front of the financial press earlier this week. the effects that we are seeing from the border crisis are hitting every one everywhere. it is the job story. that is the big piece of it. >> a lot of agents working on the border that wanted to get more information to the media. they were told not to on the northern and southern border. the numbers for the northern border nearly 90% of terror watch list suspects entering the u.s. have been caught through the land border ports on the northern border. that doesn't get enough attention. most folks may not be on the watch list. we don't get a lot of information about who those folks are either. >> that's a good point. real quickly when the fed chairman powell yesterday were talking about how the immigration situation crisis is spending so much pressure that that was part of his calculation or dropping the rates, he

issue? >> the economy. getting interest rates down where we can afford to live in america. right now it is too expensive. >> let me maybe ask a slightly impolite question. but, you know, if you can afford a boat, you're not hurting so bad, right? because a boat cost a lot of money and it's a lot of upkeep. >> no one gave me believe. i have earned everything i got. retired military. i am successful and retired with the boats, jet skis because i did it right. everyone has that chance. whether they choose are not, that is up to them. >> i would never try to take anything away from you in that way. groceries are probably a smaller part of your budget than say someone who is a little worse off. i would think it is interesting that people who are a little bit more comfortable are still so concerned about the economy. >> because i want my money to go further. i want interest rates to go back

brad is up 46% check is up 41% and change. have you ever been to a boat show or looked at the price of boats like you could buy a car. don't tell me they are so expensive. again, he was very polite. we also mentioned, my kids are doing better than me. i raised my children. this guy achieved an american dream and a cnn reporter tries to crush him for it. >> they have been paying those prices for 3.5 years. most prices are never going to come back down. that's not what happens when inflation and the bates and we get under 5% or 3%. it's what we went through at 9% plus. those prices are still around. what he's talking about -- he was one step away of being able to say, my kids like you had dreams. i want to make sure they are prepared. fortunately, i am their dad. it's because i fight for things like this.
