want to emphasize that, slowly they'll continue to come down. homeownership is an investment in one's future not to mention that you can really create your own real estate portfolio, by one property, borrow against it. so much can be done with real estate but homeownership is a vital part of the american dream. americans noted it was the most important aspect of that. i'm excited to see the real estate market come back. i don't think it will be dramatic. i think it will be slowed. >> ainsley: the average price for a house in the united states is $510,700. back in 2021 it was 452,675. up nearly $60,000. that's astronomical. half a million for a house on average. >> it takes double the income

that it used to take to be able to purchase this house. income isn't rising at the same degree pricing is. something has to change here. we need more supply in the marketplace and excited about new construction and federal land opening up. some of the candidates are proposing that with this new election. if trump comes in office i truly believe it will be great for the housing market. he has an amazing plan moving forward. we need more supply ultimately. we need builders to build. >> ainsley: you cover this all the time. what are the biggest complaints when it comes to buying a house? >> the cost of it but also property taxes and insurance. and repairs. it is always something as they say with homeownership. >> ainsley: availability. my brother and his wife were trying to buy a house. they stayed in their smaller house. they couldn't find any homes available in their neighborhood or where they wanted to live. >> supply is an issue.
