los angeles and this is america's late news, "fox news @ night". breaking tonight, vice president kamala harris making the border crisis 1 of the focal points of her campaign after arguing repeatedly that president donald trump only brought attention to the issue for his ego. >> this issue is about a vanity project for this president. that won't stop them. >> his whole political stripe around a vanity project called a wall that would cost taxpayers billions. that wall will never get built. >> trace: of course much of the wall did get built and it did stop thousands of illegal immigrants from pouring into the country under trump. until biden-harris stop construction on day 1. the border czar even created her own chaos with her attempts at trying to explain why she would not go and see it for herself. >> you have plans to visit the border? >> not today.

visit to the southern border in arizona perhaps as soon as friday this week. although details have not been decided and the harris campaign has not immediately responded to requests for comment from fox news digital. still a trip to the border by harris would certainly underscore the rising dissatisfaction among many americans when it comes to illegal immigration. critics say any border visit by harris at this point is just a political stunt. while they also urge voters to recall when ms. harris said this back in 2018... the board's chair said in a statement, as board members, we are charged with preventing violence and disorder at the polls and to conduct a safe and secure election process. it is a clear -- been made clear by public comments in the past week there is a perceived intimidation by our sheriff against certain voters. the post in question came via bruce zuchowski's personal campaign facebook page where he wrote, when people ask me what's going to happen if the flip-flopping laughing how you not wins i say write down all the addresses of the people who had her signs in their yards so when the illegal human locusts, which she supports, need places to live will already have the addresses of some of their new families who supported their arrival. in a follow-up post, zuchowski said his initial post may have been a little misinterpreted and he continued to argue that people who vote for individuals

real statistics of what we are dealing with in this country. i'm glad she's going. it's all about the campaign, has nothing to do with what's right for american people. >> trace: sheriff's zuchowski and lamb, thank you. some breaking news coming into "fox news at night", the suspect to hit in the bushes a donald trump's florida golf course and never got off a shot is now being charged with the attempted assassination of the former president. we are live with information on this. >> reporter: good evening, you might remember trump had previously criticized the justice department for the initial charges that he said were a slap on the wrist. but we are learning tonight the man who authorities say staked out the former president is now formally being charged with attempted assassination. he had at first faced two felony gun charges. shortly after he was arrested. investigator saying he was spotted with a gun near trump as a former president played around at his golf course. according to prosecutors, he had also written a note admitting it

was an assassination attempt on trump. he faces two additional counts including assaulting a federal officer. the new charges are part of an indictment that was unsealed today and if found guilty, ryan routh could spend the rest of his life in prison. >> prosecutors and agents have been working around the clock to discover the necessary evidence to assure accountability. our top priority should be ensuring that accountability occurs in this case and that those who run for office and their families are safe and protected. >> reporter: the son of routh is facing pretty serious charges now. 35-year-old was arrested on federal charges of possessing child pornography. fbi investigators were at his home in connection with the investigation into his father. they'd seized several electronics which investigators say contained hundreds of files related to child pornography.

once the groups have come together it's too late. law-enforcement officers are highly outnumbered by these mobs. they said that there were 11 locations within the philadelphia area that they were at on saturday leading into sunday, with 50-200 vehicles per location. do the math, 550-2200 vehicles. law-enforcement, you are clearly outnumbered, you don't stand a chance to attack that, so the key is to be proactive to try to stop it before it occurs. >> trace: speaking about numbered, a sheriff's office in virginia tells fox news digital that a halloween event at the popular kings dominion theme park broke down into mass chaos over the weekend as a brawl erupted among young adults with as many as 300 people in the area encouraging the unrest. the sheriff's office went on to say, and i think this is important, it seems to be the social norm for this younger generation to cause chaos. >> and that's highly problematic.

i think there are a few things we can look to you as to why the younger generation, the juveniles are handling their grievances in this way. think about it, the summer of 2020, we saw absolute chaos. there was a little amount of accountability during that summer and so i think people see the, i think the covid lockdowns were detrimental to youth and to young adults, and i also think that when there's no consequence we can expect this to continue. i appreciate that some cities have enforced laws, allegedly a fine, confiscating vehicles, but we need to know that that's enforced. that's the biggest deterrent, consequence. >> trace: it is indeed, great to have you, thank you. coming up, israel kills a top hezbollah commander as thousands flee southern lebanon. the latest on the widening conflict in the middle east is next. ♪ ♪
