in this union crane operators over $300,000. 77% pay increase they're over half a million dollars. if you are that person down in the southeast digging their community out of the mud, do you think they care about someone whining about getting $500,000 a year? this is where this administration has parked this. and putting everyone else in jeopardy. this is really a lack of leadership. and if you look at automation. they want to move us back into the stone age. i said yesterday we may as well be moving this freight with donkey carts. i have 12,000 trucks each day servicing boxes in new york, new jersey. this is no small task. this is massive movement of freight. and we need automation. we need these workers but we need automation to be competitive globally. >> lawrence: chris, real quickly, what's the incentive? this is an election year. the american people aren't going to take too kindly to this.

closed. fox weather correspondent robert ray is in the hard hit area of asheville, north carolina and joins us now. robert, what are you seeing and what is the latest? >> ainsley, it's still a very devastating and fluid situation here this morning in asheville. and i have to note, asheville is not the only area in western north carolina that is still suffering power outages, lack of cell phone service and communication issues with modern society. there are so many towns across this area that are suffering and have need the aid and access right now. and gosh, look at this video from tennessee of this casket being swished down across a raging river over the past couple days, and that's someone's loved one is in that was ceted. unbelievable scenes of destruction that we're seeing not only on the ground in western carolina but across these regions. like tennessee, south carolina,

virginia, georgia, and florida. the power outages are still well over 1 point 5 million customers and active search and rescues continue when the sun comes up. now, we have been talking to people who live in these areas, and also we got this information from the city manager of asheville. let's listen to what he she said. >> please note that our team and our partner agencies, which you heard a lot about, have been doing everything we can to get you these resources potable water. food, fuel, supplies, we appreciate and hope that you will be patient with us. >> look, we respect the words of the city manager and others that are trying to do their best to get these people aid, but the fact of the matters is it's not happening fast enough. aid groups are trying to get in national guard is trying. but there are people in dire

our police, our fire, our electric services can be coordinated to get them up to help our friends up in the mountains. >> ainsley: yes, sir, i saw that elon musk is going to bring in star link to help with communication. i have family in that area or friends that that area, they were saying they can't contact their loved ones and i think that's a big problem. they had to drive. one lady drove to her boyfriend's house to get him and his kids because of she didn't even know if they were okay. they didn't want to leave the house because they weren't sure if the roads were safe. so 600 people at last count, family members have called in saying that their family members are missing, do you expect that number to go up and are they missing or they just can't get in tough with them? >> well, from our side, we have a lot of friends up in the mountains and a lot of our communities we talk to all the time. and that's a common thing we're hearing and as the communications come back, we are starting to see that they are finding their relatives. that's really a great feel to have.
