america's late news, "fox news @ night". breaking tonight, 35 minutes until daylight in israel, a live look as the idf is vowing to respond to iran's major missile attack on tuesday. israel says the response will be robust. the biden administration is pushing for something lighter. our correspondence on the ground will bring you any news across the hour. meantime... you say trust the experts. they have phds but they don't have common sense. this has to stop and we are not going to stop it by listening to experts. we are going to stop it by listening to common sense wisdom. >> we have to get rid of that. stop listening to the economists and start listening to common sense. >> trace: j.d. vance back on the campaign trail after his star continue rising in the wake of last night's debate keep leading the new coalition in bringing back common sense conservatism. >> the debate moderator attempted to fact-check me.

do that stat. i love that idea. it evening my friend. it's not often that you get consensus in politics but media reaction to last night's vice presidential candidate debate was almost unanimous in it's assessment of the winner. "politico" for example called it a very midwestern debate and vance won. the guardian said trump aids believe a polished j.d. vance made the campaign more palatable. even the liberal "new york times" admitted, who won the debate? a crisp vance. for his part, the ohio g.o.p. senator's barred with the democratic governor for minnesota, often disagreeing without being disagreeable. and the consensus afterwards was yep, it worked. >> j.d. vance is a much more experienced public speaker, at pivoting. >> i think there was a clear lack of preparation and

execution. >> i think the lack of interviews he's done with national media, with local media, it showed. >> reporter: it showed. meantime walz's performance panned as uneven at best. compared it to biden's initial debate on cnn. vance on the other hand seemed to score very well with nearly every single snap poll and focus group after the debate. and perhaps the "politico" put it best saying the democrats are fortunate presidential debates tend to matter a lot more than vp debates. truer words perhaps never spoken, trace. >> trace: kevin corke live in d.c., thank you. let's bring in former l.a. g.o.p. vice chair, daily wire actor along with fox news political analyst. thank you for coming on. i want to play this and then get your response. this is a key exchange last night on abortion and minnesota. watch.

embodiment of better political representation as opposed to a career politician. so it's something where he had a mission, he went out and showed that what trump and maga is about is not dangerous for our country. he sold it perfectly. tim walz looked like a deer in the headlights. i would be afraid of those two are answering a call at 3:00 a.m., walz and kamala. i'm glad to see what j.d. did. >> trace: i found this poll interesting because they normally lean a little left. this is georgia and north carolina. you can see in georgia it's got the former president up by five in north carolina literally a dead heat. the former president up by one. but it's a shift. when you are talking about political polling organizations that tend to lean a little bit left, a shift to the right is significant. >> yeah but this is exactly why the working-class and the middle class has been what the trump organization or campaign has been focusing on.
8:08 pm
i think it's especially important to note that folks who are suffering the most under joe biden and kamala harris' policies, when you talk about immigration, inflation, the economy, is the working-class and the middle class which are represented well in those particular areas. the fact that donald trump has been doing direct outreach to those groups, going to brooklyn and other places where republicans don't normally go, it's making an impact. >> trace: i want to put this up because we have about 30 seconds left but "the new york times" rights, talking about kamala harris, she barely mentions the president's name in her campaign speeches and makes a middle class pitch that aims to correct for inflation and high prices voters blame on mr. biden's economic stewardship. the scenes of striking workers, hurricane devastation and missiles over israel are unwelcome complications to her case to keep democrats in power. it's a triple whammy. the question is, how much damage does it do?

controversy at the time, athletes not standing during "the star-spangled banner". the question was very straightforward. "should folks stand for the national anthem? ." you would think the only patriotic candidate would quickly answer yes, but harris chose then, like she chooses now, which is to not answer. instead offered up 65 words that look like they all came out of a ball game. then she ended her response by saying "i will defend it to the core, which is that we give people certain choices in this country." common sense would remind you the question was simply should folks stand, yes or no? not do they have a right to stand or sit or kneel. common sense things most patriots would likely consider kamala stage to be a glaring omission. -- kamala's dodge -- let's bring in amber duke and beverly

thank you for having me again. i think what israel is focused on is simply ensuring that this attack that happened on october seventh does not occur again. they've already been bombarding a lot of southern lebanon to take out there missile infrastructure as well as to take out key personnel who are missile specialists. we saw that lebanon recently has launched a couple counter missiles which midst their targets and killed a few christian families in southern lebanon. i would expect things like this to continue because israel has been extremely effective in taking out some of the networks and some of the key officials who are engaging in large-scale fighting and preparing for eventual war with israel. >> trace: it's interesting colonel because you have president biden saying they should not go after iran's nuclear sites. what should they go after and can they go after enough sites inside iran, tehran, to may be cause some civil unrest among the people there? >> well i would not rule out the nuclear capacity of iran's and
