[applause] >> brian: could it be prince harry? >> lawrence: it could be. >> brian: would ma m meghan letm do this? go to a bar? >> ainsley: i want to hear the restaurant story? i want them to stay open. apparently lots of fans. >> lawrence: and a special guest. >> ainsley: fox news alert. the striking dock workers are set to return to work this morning after reaching a tentative deal last night. the international longshoremen's association and u.s. maritime alliance releasing a joint statement saying they, quote, have agreed to extend the master contract until january 15th, 2025, to return to the bargaining table to negotiate all other outstanding issues. >> brian: union and employers have agreed to a 62% wage increase over six years plus

protections from automation. they still got to work that out. the dock workers had been seeking a 77% increase. it started the offer at 44%. president biden reacting to the agreement saying today's tentative agreement on the collective bargaining process represents critical progress towards a strong contract. >> lawrence: the strike lasted three days and could have costed billions. walk out president biden and vice president kamala harris leadership one month before the election. let's bring in lauren simonetti fox business reporters. >> good morning. >> lawrence: they reached this little s semi deal they will be right back at it in january. >> before the state of the union. i have an idea. amazon come in and build a fully automated port in texas. end all of this. >> brian: they would still need it up and down the east coast,wouldn't they?

here's the thing. they agreed to get back to work. some of it do you think has to do with the hurricane? >> absolutely. >> brian: cannot get the supplies into six different states, all suffering? >> especially as you have all the political players uniting on one issue that this isn't good for the country as they toured the devastation. vice president harris, president biden, donald trump, they all said we need a deal and they all seemed to attack the foreign companies, the shipping companies that basically own the ships coming to our ports. they wanted the union support. so they didn't want to get the union members, those 47,000 members annoyed. so they tried to strike this balance about how to handle it but, in the end, because helene and all of this is inflationary, whether you give that 62% wage increase it trickles through the supply chain. have it shut down day four, day

five, continuing. that's inflation too. they had to do something. >> ainsley: i was glad to see they were at the bargaining table and came ton agreement. i don't want the ports to close. i don't want it to effect christmas or our supplies. we all rely on these. grocery stores, big box stores. it's a lot of money is that money going to be passed on to us? >> yes. because that's what happens in situations like this. 54 ships now that are offshore waiting to get in. they can't just, you know, the ports are open today. work will resume. but, will there are bottlenecks. there is going to be a logjam. that was just after three days. >> lawrence: where are we going to see the increases. when i go to the grocery store, because of this, is it going to be the meat products. the produce, where are we going to see that immediate impact? >> it's likely going to be slow. because, when you are paying your workers 62% more over six years. you have to find ways to make that up in other places. so, i don't think any company is going to come out and say because of this i'm going to do this.

i will tell you what the shipping companies were doing before we had this deal. some of the european shippers. one declared a force majeure ripping up contract because they are on strike. the legal terms of that are not good anymore. so we are going to increase our ocean rates between 20 and 50%. there's no company in the world that can absorb that and not pass off on that cost to a consumer. >> brian: also, another thing at work. any had ideal january 15th to work it out. automation. can't accelerate and use automation and. everybody is concerned about workers and ai. i get it. but not when it comes to shipping and delivering. how much do you think it is because it is starting to be exposed how much this union head was getting, two mansions, two yachts, a bentley, making $900,000 with incentive over a million dollars. how much was the bad press and the exposure. >> lawrence: unbelievable. >> brian: forcing him to quiet things now by doing this extension. >> reportedly they got the union and got on the phone with the "new york post" and said cool it

off. stop showing pictures of where i live. >> brian: that doesn't work by the way. did you read the editorial piece in the journal. it's a reminder of forgotten lessons about union monopolies and labor boss politics that enabled this to happen. over the course of decades and decades and decades. >> brian: it didn't help the negotiations when the president comes in firmly on the side of the union. when you have a president that knows that he has got a candidate running for office that didn't get the teamster endorsement and then yesterday fount out they didn't get the fire firefighter union endorsement. i think that all figures into it on top of that. >> ainsley: i remember working in local news in south carolina. we could do everything as interns. but then you move to new york and you hear about. >> don't touch that machine. >> ainsley: no intern is allowed

to do that taking the job away from someone trained to do it? >> all the candidates want that union support. they want the blue collar support. but the question is at what expense? i mean, are you supporting these 47,000 dock workers at the expense of the entire nation who will kneel the effects of whatever you decide to do? >> we will. >> no one wants to come in and invoke taft hartley but what happens they should have. >> ainsley: working so hard and working overtime and working long hours. >> help us, crazy schedules, no, but a 77% pay increase over six years is hard for a lot of people to swallow. i don't think they got all the sympathy that they thought they would have gotten. >> lawrence: kind of hard to when people are living paycheck to paycheck. great reporting, thank you. >> that just shows you, the union workers they are living paycheck to paycheck. we deserve more and hearing that from voters. we are talking about, you know, we are a month away from the election and people were saying

i was better off during donald trump. i was watching a guy on with carley and todd earlier on "fox & friends first." he said i have usually voted as a democrat. my parents are democrats. most of my friends are democrats, he said i am voting for donald trump. i was better off. i made more money and my business was better off under donald trump. >> lawrence: wall is closing in comes to kamala harris. losing latino support, black male support. the latest is the national association of firefighters just followed the teamsters and decided they are not going to be endorsing. if you want to know if the democrats are freaking out, just look at the ads and the money that they are targeting, republicans are always going to be out spent by democrats, but not when it comes to groups, brian that, they normally win. >> brian: 7% advantage when it comes to union households. when it documents men, it's a flat footed tie with hispanics. women cause the imbalance. i'm stunned.

because i have not met a firefighter that's voted for kamala harris. i was stunned that the union heads were like that. although i saw j.d. vance was booed one time when he was addressing the firefighters union. i'm not sure that team steers, 62% of the teamsters the constituents were voting for trump. and the fact that the union head says i'm staying out. it. similar thing with the firefighters, they got 300,000 members. >> ainsley: it's like ptsd from code. they are remembering that they were -- a lot of them had to walk off the job. they weren't allowed to you work. they didn't want to get the vaccine. did you see the videoed with liz cheney. liz cheney is endorsing kamala harris. >> lawrence: what an endorsement. suddenly the democrats love the cheneys. to see kamala harris to say thank you, dick cheney for all that you have done for the country. really? i thought you thought he was dark varied and ruined the country. only exception for democrats is the ones that vote for

carolina before going back to butler pennsylvania tomorrow. the sight of his first assassination attempt, and there will be several security changes for the rally. notably, there will be one commands post for all law enforcement and emergency services working the event. back in july, there were two communication centers, one for the secret service and another for local authorities, which caused some confusion. thousands of people are expected to attend including elon musk who said on x i will be there to support. meantime vice president kamala harris is in flint, michigan today. her trip comes a day after she campaigned in wisconsin with republican former congresswoman liz cheney at her side. >> i tell you i have never voted for a democrat. but this year i am proudly casting my vote for vice president kamala harris. retired marine daniel penny aned in court for a pre-trial hearing yesterday just two weeks before the start of his manslaughter trial. penny is accused of putting jordan neely in a deadly chokehold last year inside a new york city subway car. the hearing was to decide what evidence will be presented at trial, including police body camera footage. penny has pleaded not guilty and saying he was acting in self-defense after neeley got aggressive. at the hearing, an nypd detective testified that penny was not told that neeley died while he was being questioned by officers. a jury selection is scheduled to begin on october 21st. now to politics. pennsylvania senator bob casey and republican challenger dave mccormick got into it at their first debate last night and things got personal. >> probably most pennsylvanians have never heard a bigger lie was the lie when my opponent said he lived in pennsylvania when he was living in connecticut. >> when you don't have a record to run on as senator casey does

during friday prayers in tehran. he tried to justify iran's recent missile attack on israel and pay tribute to hassan nasrallah, the hezbollah leader, killed in an airstrike last week. nate foy is all over the moving parts here in tel aviv with the latest. nate? as we await israel's response to the massive ballistic missile attack. he delivered a rare sermon called that act a legitimate act he even more horrible he called atrocities on october 7th also a legitimate act. he said israel will never be able to defeat hamas or hezbollah. he called on all muslim nations to unite against israel. today's iran's foreign minister in beirut he landed just after this explosion at the perimeter of the airport. he is expected to meet with lebanese officials, including the speaker of parliament, who is a close ally of hezbollah.

plane? >> yes. well, lawrence, you and i both know there is a difference who is running the country. we have watched three and a half years of the biggest disaster ever to run the white house. look, if we're true and we're being honest with each other. it doesn't matter what party you belong to. it does belong to deserve the protection. when you don't get the same protection as other places that's a decision made at the top -- starts at the top. the executive branch does all these things. they have abdicated their position and allow these things to happen we don't have enough money or enough men. what they don't have is enough honesty running that whole show right now. >> lawrence: so true, mr. chairman. i don't care if it's barack obama, bill clinton. george w. bush, former presidents are still symbols of our country. we should protect them. and they are only going after one man right now. and we have to ask ourself why and why they are not giving him the necessary security. chairman, thank you so much for joining the program, i know you are going to get to the bottom of.
