community is facing right now. i want you to look at this. this used to be a car repair center right here. and you see this car that has been devastated right here. look inside of the building, there is other cars that are in there that are just pinned down. on the other location right here is a mattress location. there's nothing there. we have to literally go to google map to figure out exactly what it was. on the other side of the service station. completely hit as well. and the people are coming together right now. private organizations pitching. in but there's a lot of questions about where is the federal government. they say they are here. but the people feel a different way. we spoke to them yesterday. this is what they had to say. watch. >> we never thought it would hit up here in these mountains like this. but, when we walk down and seen that road gone and that bridge gone, i mean, it took my breath. i was like what happened? >> lots of disaster in this area. a lot dead, a lot without power

and water. we don't know when the water will be restored. i don't have any right now. >> my son hikes five miles to get me. we went through all the devastation of there were no roads. there were no homes. there was nothing. >> just so much damage. it's been somewhat overwhelming. we feel like we are in a war zone. >> people have drove up and they saw what we have got and they have just covered their face and their hands sobbing that they were able to find something, something to eat, something for their babies. >> such an outreach from around the country. i mean, folks from all states coming in and they are just helping us bringing supplies in. truck load after truck load. >> i think that our government can do more. because we're going to need the help. there is roads gone. there is, you know, it's going to take a lot to rebuild us. >> there is so much more that could be done. and ifing us $750, if you can even apply for it is ridiculous. and i have only heard of a

are walking, getting in their vehicles, getting in their atvs. getting in their 4 by 4s and literally taking bottles of water and handing it to me what do you you need? chainsaws carrying with them chopping stuff going through creeks and rivers getting to people i asked you this carson and sarah as well who is getting these bodies? are they government officials that are cutting people down and you also have the people who are doing this? >> the stories we have heard it's been individuals, might just be a couple of friends and buds that are gotten together and gone out and tried to be helpful and help with loafer effort and they literally have gone and pulled bodies out of the debris. >> lawrence: how bad is it here? when people see it on national media and they hear -- they say this is a week ago. everybody is in place. things are getting better.

>> we still have a lot of people without power. without cell phone. and that's one of the biggest things is we couldn't communicate with anybody. >> lawrence: for four days. >> still we can't. >> still super spotty. >> yesterday the church right over here, we just were able to make telephone calls with verizon wireless yesterday at about close to noon we were able to make some phone calls. it was hard for us to even set up supplies and get things because we couldn't even talk to each other. we were trying to figure out do we have any of the cb, walkie-talkies anywhere. >> coordination. >> coordination was difficult but what was incredible was people were doing by word of mouth. they were saying i will be back. go down the road and get you something and i'll be back. >> lawrence: what do you all need right now? i have been impressed with the chumps that have stepped up. you have got samaritan purse on the ground. >> yes. >> >> lawrence: helicopters in the air. how can we help? >> i think one of the things, we have been blessed and overwhelmed with the amount of

people locally, nationally. i mean, we have people from oklahoma, up north, down south, florida that are contacting us, trying to figure out what we need. i have already sent supplies and everything. making deliveries daily if not multiple times a day. one of the big things is to remember that it's super easy for the rest of the world to start to move on after you hear a story for a couple days becomes old news, this isn't going to be old news. lingering. people here, water, a lot of people -- some people have well water some people are on city water it. could be months before city water because infrastructure was hurt so bawnd and running. this is something that can't be fixed within a week or two with some donations. this is going to take a long time. so i think to not be forgotten about and that help is still going to be needed going forward for quite a while. >> lawrence: thank you so much for giving me time. we will be praying for you guys.

>> ainsley: national guard thousand troops. this was a week after the hurricane had hit, i do know there are a lot of volunteers there fema has sent a good bit of money to all of those states, but these roads are treacherous. if you have been to the mountains of north carolina. you know you are down in the towns, like let's say asheville or hendersonville or one of these small towns. and you have to get to these mountain houses through these back roads. >> brian: tell me that wouldn't have helped last week. right after he was done with his vacation. don't want to interrupted his vacation at rehoboth. call up the 82nd airborne do you have material and black hawks laying around there is a bunch of people in the mountains drowning that would have helped. four days later they do it. >> ainsley: brian, we are focusing on north carolina which was the hardest hit. georgia was hit. florida was hit with hurricane helene. people we talked to in tampa, housesy flooded. houses burned. one lady i was talking to on her street 3 houses burned. they are about to get hit again with this new hurricane coming through wednesday or thursday.

protecting the kibbutz. daniel's father rabbi don perez joins me now. rabbi, great to see you. what a toll your family paid on that day. bring us through it? >> we have four children, two sons and two daughters. our sons are the older two. we moved to israel from south africa 10 years ago. our sons 13 and 156789 forced october 7th, 2024. both officers israeli army. eldest son and youngest son in the tank call comes october 7th. danielle is based with his tank crew outside a base next to kibbutz of many hundreds of people. he fought for two and a quarter hours valiantly and gallantly with his crew saving some people. killing many terrorists until, unfortunately, he was shot killed and taken hostage. weave only knew after a 163 days that he in fact had been killed by some evidence you spoke about

jabalia. >> brian: he was alive when they took him? >> we don't know. by the time 12:00 noon came that afternoon. 163 days later. we have video footage which confirmed, unfortunately that he had been killed that day. it seems that encounter he was killed and probably dragged dead across the border. as i noticed the time 7:30 in the morning, 2:30 in israel. exactly at this time 2:30 our oldest son was fighting in the same base. just happened to be that he came when he heard 8:00 in the morning he came to fight as well. evidence fought in six different places. in the same base, it just worked out that he was there. he managed with officers to save 22 soldiers, mainly feel mail. female.shot in the leg. by the grace of god injured, in and out of his thigh. main artery. one son missing and one son lying in a helicopter shot through the thigh. >> brian: when you see those protesters in new york called to action today and seen them --

as places like north carolina are still left reeling over the damage left by hurricane helene. team rubicon is jumping into action. check in with lawrence live in swannanoa with director of operations. >> lawrence: team rubicon, describe some of the scene. this is probably the hardest hit area, jeff. why is that? >> you know, as you can see, lawrence, the power of water is very, very hard to beat. you know, the damage is visual. so, you know, what we're doing with team rubicon. we are a veteran led nonprofit organization. we are in a multiple states as a result of helene. what we have been able to do here in asheville, specific is help the city with clearing roads as you can see. this is the river, one of the many rivers here but, you know, behind us is the road. so clearing roads and letting the city crews get some day off and providing some better safety
