and i'm just fine on the fringes of zone b and zone a evacuation sink close to the coastline right behind me where we have known later a evacuations. as of this morning, as you can see, not raining but that hasn't been the case this morning. we have had fans have heavy rain to push their way through and when it occurs, it is intense. that is the name of the game without a rain bands of milton will continue to sweep their way through the area. as they do so, the concern is going to be for instability in the atmosphere. it is 76 degrees and the dew point is right around 76, meaning it feels tropical, hop, you made. and the outer rain bands can spend up spin up to tornadoes. collier county, we are not currently under tornado warning fit to the south of us we have active tornado warning in effect throughout the night. we also had additional

tornado warnings issued in and around naples area. that is what i'm watching very carefully in the short term. right behind me, we have been watching prolific lightning all morning long. it has been lighting up the sky. this is a concern because we have intense lightning. we have heavy rain, land of japan to trained to push through. we are dealing with intense rain anywhere 1-3 inches per hour and it is intense, soaking rain and it stops and pretty much going on as of right now and so we will watching and off of i-75, we have had so many locations where we had to move location so far this morning. that is expected to continue to happen throughout the day today, todd. >> carley: kendall smith ahead of naples, florida, and thank you so much. senior meteorologist janice dean with fox weather forecast tracking the storms. janice, you heard that one woman say they have gotten lucky in the past. they are not risking it now and they are getting out.

>> i love hearing that because this is the storm right here. category five, still category 5. last night it strengthened again. the bottom dropped out of it in terms of pressure. and it is a monster. it is going to impact somewhere on the west coast of florida. i can't give you the exact location where landfall is going to be. but what i can tell you without the storm as they heaviest rain just south of that is where we will see incredible, dangerous and potentially deadly storm surge. look at that storm. this reminds me of 2004-2005 when we had katrina. it is just you've got a pit in your stomach. what is going to impact someone and it's going to wreck people's lives. taking a look at the track as of 5:00 a.m., we are expecting some weakening. but as i have been mentioning the last few days, don't focus on a number 5, 4, strong 3, the

storm surge will remain the same. energy with the storm will actually expand in effect a lot more real estate. so let's take a look at it when talking about the winfield code to watch what happens the next 12-24 hours. it gets bigger and impacts more real estate across the west coast of florida. so the models have shifted a little bit southward, which would be better news for tampa, but we cannot let our guard down because the margin of error is 60 miles. if you have got to wobble north or south, someone will get the worst-case scenario for storm surge. tampa, you are not out of the woods and i know a lot of people breathing a sigh relief but not yet. the computer models are training southward, but that means sarasota, cape coral, fort myers, you are in fact cohen in that area where we can get the worst of the storm surge which can be anywhere from 10-15 feet which would be a

record for these areas and widespread power outages and not only for storm surge but upwards of a foot of rainfall. hurricane-force winds for hours and hours. and it is going to move across the peninsula. widespread power outages and we are not just talking about days. we are talking weeks. that is why people are urged if you will ride in a storm out in the central florida even east coast of florida, be prepared to sit there without power for number of days. also tornado risk as well. but this is cash it doesn't happen very often to see a 5 like that and close to land. >> todd: one of the reasons it will take so much time to restore power is think where the crews are the out-of-state crews. they are not hanging out in tampa and fort myers right now. they are in georgia, south carolina getting ready to move then once it is a. that will take some time as well. >> carley: we had two weeks ago helene and people are

recovering from that and it is a one-two punch we rarely see and i'm praying and i know that florida is taking this very seriously. >> todd: j.d., thank you. but that the general manager of the ship wreck bar in clearwater, florida, jeffrey. you stayed for helene pet evacuated for milton. what happen in helene that led you to the decision to get out this time? >> i wasn't going to go through that again. it was scary. and i just wanted to it -- this i wanted to evacuate, really evacuate. i'm all the way in pittsburgh, pennsylvania. >> todd: you weren't messing around this time. before evacuating pennsylvania cleaning up your power nonstop after hurricane going. tell what you did to clean up your bar as we look at pictures on your screen. what you expect to return to following milton? >> it was crazy after the storm. we got the entire clearwater beach community

rallied against -- rallied with all of the bars and restaurants and shops clearwater beach to start the cleanup. and amazing how everyone came together to start the cleanup. and we were making a lot of progress. we were getting ready to open up soon. with this next storm coming, we had to halt all of that. and we had to be prepared for this next hurricane. so, that is what we started to do to get ready for that by getting rid of all of the debris around the bar and putting everything up. out of the storm surge the way it is possible on your water beach and the shipwreck. >> todd: how do you deal with the emotional toll one-two punch, first helene in all likelihood milton? >> i will tell you, i have been on clearwater beach 20 years and i've always had the philosophy, you know, we will write it out like most floridians. it will be okay. it will be some wind and rain.

but these storms, this past storm was different. the water came in so fast and so furious, that it caught everybody by surprise. when i was at the bar that night keeping an eye on things because i live right down the road, i knew that i was in trouble around 8:00 p.m. at evening. when the water started coming into the bar, it hadn't happened in 50 years at the bar was on clearwater beach. so we saw water that was higher than ever before, just caught off guard. we are finally making it to safety and getting things organized. we have not been able to get a rental car or places to stay or, you know, the means. the clearwater police department and fire departments were amazing with helping with those

situations and local resorts like the wyndham hotel wyndham grand on clearwater beach were great to help the residents have a place to stay here to bed as as i found out that they were going to start evacuating on monday, i was trying to get a flight out to. i was not messing around. and when they came to evacuate, you should. >> todd: that is the right call on this one, jeffrey. hopefully your customers at the shipwreck followed suit and followed you at a town. we are praying for you and your establishment and the entire population of clearwater in florida. we appreciate your time. while florida braces for the worst, vice president petrie took time to enjoy herself on her media city tour of. >> would you like to have a beer with me? >> the last time i had bear was at a baseball game. cheers! tri-state area. >> it is a quality of life in the economy in several issues. so noreen, donald trump will be in pennsylvania but over the weekend he was in butler for a second time. do you see him going back to butler impacts the race in any way? how are you doing things right now when it comes to november? >> well, you know, first of all which they say 100,000 people there over the weekend. that alone speaks volumes. butler's attempted assassination, i think, change the landscape not only in pennsylvania, but across the nation to see a former president being nearly killed by a hair. i think it woke a lot of people up, even people that don't care for donald trump. that affected him and may or may not have swayed their vote but in general the landscape right now is very, very -- we have one

choice that is november 5th, it comes down to voters. seeing the stark difference between the two candidates, we are where we are with our candidates and it is crunch time. but that the same time, people are hurting, people are hurting all over the country. while kamala is busy with last-minute interviews and not answering questions and word salads, people are suffering, dying all over the country. we have to make a change. they were is only one change, and that is donald trump on november 5th. >> carley: it's ins like you are voting for trump. you are a registered democrat and it is crunch time and this media tour right now by kamala and the stephen colbert show and "the view" and "the howard stern show" and there is this storm that is impacting southern states and some folks are saying a position that might work against her.

had to you have viewed the media tour and do you think it is the right thing to do or the wrong time? what are your thoughts? >> i think many philadelphians culture is to be tough onto 76ers and the eagles and even the phillies. if we are tough on each other, we are tough on our sports why wouldn't we be tough on the next presidential candidate? what we are really missing from her is a hard interview where she's being real impact chat and feet held to the fire because donald trump has been doing this for eight years but even running now, it has been two years. and she has not had a single interview. so we see her dodge important issues, she doesn't represent philadelphia at all. i look for example, the economy over her and she keeps saying we are not going back and that is a catch line phrase and so many people are saying as well. but i talked to people in philadelphia and doing street interviews and i talked to

evacuation zones, carley, as, ps and i was on the road and it is fine to drive. these hurricanes are so unpredictable. when i was attorney general i worked one that hit the panhandle and it absolutely devastated that. homes were picked up and moved. we have seen all the footage. people need to abide by what the mayor is saying and others are saying. if you are in a evacuation zone, you need to get out of here this morning. it is not too late this morning. but a few more hours go by, you have to stay put and be safe because especially, carley, around tampa bay, it is surrounded by water. so many of these folks lost everything during hurricane helene not even 12 days ago. they left everything they had. and now, they were dealing with jimmy petrone, the chief financial officer trying to build their homes. and this happened and they don't

want to leave again. but they have to k heed those warnings because project details all the furniture, the wood left outside. as of last night, a lot of that was still there because fema had not picked it up yet. 's p2p amp such as that was a great point we were talking a resident from treasure island and i think is fear all of the debris left by hurricane helene any see it in his front yard and on the streets in the area carriage of the chairs, the furniture and the parts of the houses, it becomes projectiles when milton comes. and they are debris teams out right now but it doesn't look like you can clean all of that up in 24 hours. >> there are debris teams out 24/7. the mayor and tampa had to hire private contractors to come in and clean up this debris because fema was not responding quick enough nor responding with enough resources. so, everyone is out there

working together trying to get this off. if you have a huge piece of wood and there are hundreds of pieces of wood out there, that becomes a missile. that can go through someone's window. that can go through someone's car door. that can go through anything around where they are here till it is so very, very dangerous, carley. so people really need to heed the warnings of officials and what they should do based on this zone they are in. we have seen utter devastation in the past. >> carley: you mentioned you are a trump's erica. , kamala harris has been doing the media and she said several times during different interviews with stephen colbert that she thinks donald trump's response to this hurricane has been horrible. she said he's not showing empathy because he is criticizing the federal government's response. she said if you report to be a leader, to understand letting people up in their time of need and not manipulating them.
