1 million minorities to start businesses as well as education, training and mentorship programs creating a frame wore for crypto-currency and legalizing marijuana. it comes as the "new york times" poll shows just how much black voters have drifted from democrats. 92 in 2016 to 90% in 2020. down to just 78% the few research center says the drop is more drastic 22 points since 2016. a clear ship in her risk averse media strategies. today she is in detroit to make her case to charlamagne tha god, reaching out to her ways base. elitist. it's also if they have such low opinion of voters they may have la low opinion of you. >> lawrence: one of the things i discovered from the democrats doing these barber shops and talking with voters of different parties of course in the barbershop you got trump voters as well. it's new because there hasner been a ticket on the modern daytime so much support from black men. one thing i discovered from the harris voters that still remain with black males, they never expected that when they changed the particular. they thought by having a black woman on the ticket that it would pressure some black males to vote based on that. and, the black males have completely rejected that policy position. they haven't seen anything from kamala harris that i object spicer them.

they don't trust her. and the seconds issue is she hasn't given an answer of substance on why she hasn't put policies in right now to fix the economy. whether you love or hate donald trump, a lot of black voters, specifically black males, feel like the economy was better under him. future cycles will be there. people are tired of being sexualized. this is black men and black women. hispanic men hispanic women. first of all they are americans. they want an opportunity to be successful. they want an opportunity to go to school. they don't need to smoke pot for free. they don't need special loans. they need an equal playing field. don't tell me i need special services. and please don't think i'm naive enough to know when you are pandering.

you have three weeks to get an election. we all see the numbers and you go give them loans. give them pot, give them special housing discounts and they will vote for me. they can see through it. >> steve: that is how politics has worked for a long time. >> brian: listen, you can tell pandering from a program. these are individual panderings for a program. >> ainsley: this is what donald trump has going to for him. we saw what it was like under his administration. we saw what it was like under kamala harris. he had remain in mexico. if you sought asylum. if you are illegal and say i need to leave my country and come to mo america. you have to wait in mexico until your hearing and we will decide. joe biden and kamala harris come in and do away with remain in mexico. most everybody can walk across, declare asylum. once you are in, you are. in once your feet hit american soil you are in. you don't have to show up for your hearing. you can be a criminal and you are in. we have seen that now they are trying to blame it on the border bill that trump didn't sign?

guess what? that border bill came out this year? they were in office three and a half years ago. >> lawrence: the problem with the pandering though to steve and brian's point is that the pandering misses the mark. you want to put marijuana on the table, but people can't afford groceries. okay? >> ainsley: right. >> lawrence: so i mean, putting weed on the table, it just make sense. then she says she is going to give loans to black businesses. then you are going to put more taxes and regulations on those same black businesses. >> ainsley: raise corporate taxes. >> lawrence: the policies she is throwing out there as red meat trying to attract us misses the mark every single time. >> steve: here's the thing. and this goes to my point with brian. american politics, it's how it's worked forever. i remember when my kids were in grade school and when they were -- the kids running for class president, they would say you know what? we are going to get harry potter, j.c. raleighing to come to our school.

border. >> lawrence: brian, the problem is it's not the surrogate's fault this is happening. a candidate with no identity. and master politicians out there doing what they did in their time. and so, this is a campaign that is reliant on others to fill in the void of policy. so you have got people winging it. they are saying what they would do. not what kamala harris because she hasn't made it clear to the american people. so you have got messages all over the place right now. brian. ainsley: to brian's point did he get the first part right. he admitted that laken riley's murder wouldn't have happened if migrants had been properly vetted. laken's alleged killer the illegal immigrant crossed in 2022 when brian and harris were in the administration. it was a few years ago. but, what he got wrong is trying to blame donald trump for killing the bipartisan border bill. the border bill didn't surface like you said, brian, until this year. >> steve: ultimately, the point, it's the cover of the "new york post" right now. we agree -- political shocker, we agree with bill clinton.

a turned woman caught on camera robbing a 7-year-old boy and slang his mom in a new york city mugging. it all happened at a bronx grocery store when the woman ripped cash from the boy's hand as he was playing with fruit. she then went over to the mother, hitting her as she pushed a stroller weather forecast baby inside. serious residents say the crazed woman is still strolling around the neighborhood in the bronx. >> my goodness. virginia governor glenn youngkin is defending removing non-citizens from voter rolls after the doj announced that it is suing the state. >> here i am a governor, mandated and oh, by the way, proud to support and defend the constitution of the united states, the constitution of the commonwealth of virginia. and, by law, to make sure that we have clean voter rolls and the department of justice shows up 25 days before a presidential election and says stop doing that. to me, this is unprecedented.

power. more than two weeks after hurricane helene made landfall. let's check in with senior meteorologist janice dean for forecast. >> janice: we are still watching the potential for record cold for parts of north carolina. and look at the great lakes and the northern plains, even the northeast. these are wind chills, frost and freeze alerts for many big cities. kansas city towards cincinnati, harrisburg and also asheville. okay. where we have 12,000 people without power still because of helene, almost three weeks in. forecast highs in the high 50's and 60's with overnight lows at the freezing mark. it's actually going to be cold enough for snow for the appalachians. in system of these areas that still do not have power. so that's my big concern here is it's going to get record cold in these areas over the next few days. for florida, we are hoping the power comes back on this week. temperatures in the 80's, so not as big a deal as our friends in north carolina. but, you know, a cold front is going to move through and we

will have dry conditions and temperatures in the 70s and 80's overnight temperatures in the 50's. but, again, not as bad for our friends in north carolina and, steve, you know, we are still highlighting this area that is still suffering so greatly not only in florida but in the carolinas. we have to send our prayers to all of those folks. >> steve: we do, indeed. j.d., thank you very much. >> janice: you got it. >> steve: meanwhile vice presidential candidate tim walz facing criticism for his latest flip flop. this one concerning free speech. >> look, the first amendment is foundational. something i spent my whole life, the vice president, and i think most americans are clear on this. the point we are seeing censorship coming in the form of book banning in certain places. we are seeing in attempts in school intention is hate speech, protected hate speech. speech aimed at creation violence. speech that's aimed at individuals. that's what we are talking about in this. the decision on that, society decides on a lot of this.

tremendous sense, you know, this country was founded on an open dialogue and free speech. to say hear tim walz's definitions in some ways you are kind of questioning what were the founders say about that? i'm not sure they would agree. >> steve: sure. ultimately, i know that a lot of people when they do that they are trying to silence dissent. you look at college campuses i know the university of austin. you have seen the free speech protest including palestine up there to the exclusion of a lot of jewish students feel they are not safe because of it that's one of the reasons people are flocking to your school, isn't it. >> it is. the very purpose of an university is to have an open exchange of ideas and civil discourse to collect evidence, weigh that evidence, and to make judgments. our universities have to be the
