miracle when he returned to their property in burnsville, north carolina looking for his home and family. joining us now we have david and camille and david's mom, nan with their back, blanco. i'm so sorry for what you have gone through. such a nice endsing to all this tragedy. tell me what happened to your house and how much you lost, david? >> sure. we've got our whole family here in burnsville, north carolina. mom, dad, mother-in-law, my brother, my wife and two kids and the floodwaters came up way above even 500 year levels. at least ten feet and everything we own is in wreckage behind us. the neighbor's houses are gone that have been there since the 1920s and really we lost just about everything we own. >> ainsley: tell me what you saw. you were watching and we love our animals and when you see blanco floating away, what are

your thoughts? >> my son, jonathan and i were up in the cove retreating taking the cars up and i come down shooting a video and pictures, jonathan is the one that said blanco is on the roof of the camper as it is swirling away and hit the house that eventually would go. blanco climbed up on the distribution line you see and we see him try to climb the metal roof and ends up down in the river that turned out to be the ocean. that's the last we saw him. >> ainsley: you probably think the worst. what happened? eight days later blanco reappears? >> eight days later. we keep telling our kids we've seen the homeward bound movie. it is just like that. >> ainsley: what went through your mind? >> he has nine lives. he came to us as a stray.
