candidates are actually in michigan today as early voting begins in detroit tomorrow. the race remains a virtual tie there. the latest poll show harris leading trump by two points which is, of course, inside the margin of error. meanwhile control of congress is also on the line. in another key race in michigan, democrat elissa slotkin holds a slight lead over mike rogers in the run for u.s. senate. joining us right now is the founder of t the midwesterner michigan. kyle, good morning to you. >> good morning. thanks for having me. >> steve: it's good to have you. when we talk about the balance of power, that is important. let's blue sky. this if kamala harris wins, and if she has got unified congress where she -- the democrats have the house and the senate, she can pretty much do anything she wants. but, if the republicans hold one or two of the houses, suddenly she has got to essentially work with congress as kind of a

moderate joe biden, which we never really saw. >> right. and so you have got this situation whereas you showed, the presidential race is neck and neck. mike rogers is a couple points behind elissa slotkin. what we are seeing on the ground here in michigan is china, evs are playing a huge issue in this race and other congressional races. because what is happening is elissa slotkin voted for ev mandates. but she is now trying to claim that she didn't. and she actually is running an ad in michigan where she says i live on a dirt road and because i live on a dirt road, i can't own an ev, which is strange to me because as we saw during the hurricanes, salt water and evs don't mix. but apparently according to elissa slotkin evs and dirt roads don't mix either. >> steve: i got a feeling if alelissa slotkin saw that ad.

what? they are fine on dirt roads. kyle, speaking of tv ads, every swing state has got a different bouquet of tv ads. one owhat the main themes you ae seeing in michigan. >> evs and china and chinese companies are major issue. the rogers campaign and outside groups are talking about how elissa slotkin signed a nondisclosure agreement to learn the secrets of a chinese battery maker called goshen and then basically keep those secrets from michigan taxpayers. and that's not going over very well and that's another issue where she is on defense. and so what we're seeing is as the largest car maker in the united states, michigan and evs, it's all a very big issue. >> steve: absolutely. and going back to our original premise where if there is divided government, one party has the white house and the other party has at least one of the houses of congress.
