classified documents on israel's preparation for potential retaliatory attack on iran. you know that has implications for us as a nation. anybody who goes to war that we are such a close ally with with such an evil opponent as iran matters to us. according to the white house spokesman, u.s. officials have confirmed on saturday that the administration is in fact investigating an unauthorized release of classified documents which assessed israel's plan to attack iran. this matters to israel into us. white house national security spokesperson john kirby said the administration was still not certain that the classified information was leaked or hacked. at 1:30 p.m. eastern white house press secretary karine jean-pierre is holding a press briefing. a lot happening that we are monitoring this hour. stay close to fox.

close up firsthand and you could tell he was moved by the people there. the people were moved by him. he was stunned by the damage and despite the damage that we saw on the ground, people in north carolina are voting paired people in that area are voting and the former president even said he was stunned by that. the early voting numbers here north carolina statewide have reached about 1 million and he could not believe that. a couple things that came out of the event here. he was asked if he has seen any signs of cheating this early in the election season and he said he had not. he said he was impressed by the turn out. he said the rnc is watching voting very carefully and even with north carolina being such a critical state for this campaign, john, such a critical path to the white house, he is actually more concerned about getting these people back on their feet. listen to what he told me here. >> are you worried that some

in any of these states, i would be a lot more worried. she hasn't been at the top of the ticket. she has gone into the race and in two months she has consolidated the party, gotten a bunch of republicans to cross over, got liz cheney to change her mind on her and support her and she is consolidating voters but she's going and talking to voters directly where they are and are trying to win voters who can actually vote and change the election, not going to talk to people in the bronx. donald trump has no chance of winning the bronx. the jets have a better chance of winning the super bowl then donald trump has of winning the bronx. she's going to suburbs outside of philadelphia, she's going to places outside of detroit. she is doing what is smart. he is holding fake photo ops at mcdonald's. >> john: which goes viral. and captivating the new cycle. i bet he's good at pickleball. take this.

against iran. former pentagon official brent sadler on deck to react to that but first let's get to trey yingst live on the ground in high foot israel. what are we hearing about that where you are? >> good afternoon. overnight israel launched a series of air strikes against hezbollah length banks across lebanon appeared smoke could be seen rising from the capital of beirut, specifically in the neighborhood, a hezbollah stronghold and one location near the airport. in addition to the lebanese capital, the becca valley saw senior strikes after an official brief the media about efforts to weaken hezbollah's ability to finance the war against israel. on the ground israel is continuing to push deeper into lebanon with soldiers entering each day. hezbollah continuing its attacks into northern israel firing hundreds of rockets over the border this weekend. with the northern front remaining active, the u.s. special envoy did is in beirut today for meetings about a path forward to end the war.

israel gave the u.s. a new document last week with demands for a cease-fire. among the demands, israel wants to maintain an ability to conduct raids into lebanon in what is being referred to as active enforcement of an agreement. in israel's southern is active a well with evacuations of palestinian civilians taking place in the north of gaza and active ground fighting between israel and hamas ongoing. this weekend three israeli soldiers were killed in gaza including an israeli colonel who served as the commander of the 401st brigade. he is the highest-ranking israeli officer killed since the invasion of gaza began paired with all eyes on the southern and northern france, the big question today is how the israelis plan to respond to iran following that ballistic missile attack earlier this month. >> john: trey yingst for us with the latest. thank you. >> sandra: for more on this and the troubling new reports that the u.s. is investigating a leak of classified documents detailing israel's detailed attack on iran, let's bring in

not noncitizens. >> john: is what he is doing legal or not? >> first of all the department of justice, this department of justice is the most political department of justice ever appeared to answer your question, yes. here's why. the federal law says you cannot systemically remove people in general awe for the voter role within 90 days. glenn youngkin is not doing that. he is individualizing individuals who have identified themselves as noncitizens and somehow they get on the voters role. what does glenn youngkin do? he sent them a letter and says how low potential voter could you have 14 days to prove your citizenship. that is all he is doing. and moreover if they can touch that, they can still follow a provisional ballot. trump and everyone knows that this department of justice is not fair. it is not impartial. lady justice is looking through that blindfold. this is ridiculous appeared glenn youngkin is correct, john.

>> john: he says that governor ralph northam as well as tim kaine both use this law in the same way he is. we could not find any specific evidence of that. though we are still looking. one thing we do know is that there was a mistake last year when virginia was going through the voter rules and about 3400 people who had prior felonies whose voting rights were reinstated were removed from the rolls. you don't get it right all the time and maybe people are looking at that and saying they made a mistake once, maybe they will do it again this year. >> let me respond to this in a very calm manner. first of all, the protection for every potential voter is they can file a provisional ballot. and that is the safeguard to protect a citizen's right to vote. but again, all line young can is doing is making sure that the voter rolls do not have noncitizens.

it's complete devastation it appears. how are you doing? >> it truly is a moment moment late christopher said. believe it or not, where we are sitting, the day we walked up from the storm, all of our dining room furniture, this used to be a wall. unbelievable progress. people out here every single d day, it truly is uplifting. i keep telling people to describe the emotion when we walked up the driveway. we did not expect our home to be so devastated. truly catastrophic damage. i think we are still in shock. without a doubt. but getting through it day by day and our community has been just unparalleled. >> sandra: it warms our hearts to hear that, obviously. chris, what are you able to do for living arrangements right now with so many who are in a similar position?

>> that has been a challenge. we have yet to hear back on housing allowance from fema. we actually a few days after the storm hit had to make a mortgage payment on our home. some folks have been very gracious and allowed us to move in temporarily into some homes here. we want to be very careful to protect the sanctity of family and the hearts of our girls so we are in the same place was there is amazing and we will move to another temporary home on thursday of this week. then i think we have one more place lined up after that that as of right now it is like couch surfing from college it except we are doing it with our children and all of our

household belongings. >> and the dog. >> and the dog. >> sandra: and the dog. you have seven kids plus one, a bonus kid that adopted you all as you told our producers. you have a lot of people depending on you. that's a lot of pressure and it sounds like you guys are keeping your heads up. people have been donating things to you. obviously you heard a lot of the politics of the moment, who is helping who and who is getting the help that they need. what has that been like for you other than the things that have been donated for you, the outreach from the local state federal level. have you been able to get help? >> we have had our fema inspection. however we are still waiting to hear anything back. so we are kind of on hold with that right now. we are hoping to hear back something relatively soon. >> everything has been

grassroots. it's our friends that were here, our neighbors to be. when we didn't know the first step to take, they were here putting rocks and ditches to get our cars out in everyday people have shown up. christopher is on national ski patrol and they had a workday. we've had folks from churches, a guy yesterday was from ohio and we don't know how he found us. people just show up walking down our driveway here to help. it's been grassroots in the community more than any organizations. i'm not sure if we mentioned this but our homeowners insurance has denied us twice so we are not getting any help. we do firmly believe that they will do the right thing by us ultimately but that is taking some time as well as fema is taking time. >> sandra: it sounds like you have incredible challenges but are you guys keeping it together. it's impressive. angela and chris, you can tell you the strength between the two of you will get you through this.

>> john: jury selection is underway in the trial of daniel daniel penny, the marina accused of manslaughter in the death of a homeless man who was threatening passengers on the new york city subway. any early indications on whether penny will take the stand himself? >> not yet. but moments ago here outside the courthouse, his defense lawyers said the client would make a great witness. so that is their take on it and

we will see how the defense responds once prosecutors lay out their case. daniel penny faces up to 19 years in prison if convicted on the charges. so far he has pleaded not guilty to second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. charges stemming from his fatal choke hold in may of last year. according to court filings witnesses said he began shouting and acting erratically when he got on the train. prosecutors say some recall him making threats, other do not. penny's attorneys said it penny did not intend to hurt or kill neely but was trying to protect others and hold him down long enough for police to arrive. prosecutors in this case only have to prove that penny acted reckless and was negligent. the defense team appears confident with jury selection now underway. >> the maneuver which he used in this case is a nonlethal or maneuver meant to restrain someone who is threatening to do harm to others. it's undisputed in this case.

there is no factual dispute that is what mr. neely was doing, that's what he was threatening and the evidence is overwhelmingly likely that that's what he would have carried out had a mr. penny come to the aid of his fellow passengers. >> protesters were outside the courthouse this morning chanting justice for jordan neely. he performed as a michael jackson impersonator and had documented mental health struggles. he had 42 prior arrests including a history of attacks on subway riders. police said he had no weapon while on the train. the family attorney has pointed that out saying he never laid hands on anyone and adding this outside of the courthouse. >> the facts of the cases that speared someone got on the train and was screaming and someone choked that person to death. those things will never balance out. >> the trial could last up to
