a day off. there's 14 days left till the presidency and she is taking a day off, this is not what you want, this is not what you want. i was going to hit a really hard on the trail today, but now i don't have to because she is o off. >> sandra: democratic pollster mark penn's, says the supports with male black voters is a weakness, so is barack obama as the message or the right choice? >> john: and what we can expect from the harris/walz camp today. >> governor walz should be touching down in any minute if he is not on the ground already as democrats are trying to be absolutely certain they don't make the mistake that the hillary clinton campaign did in 2016 and take wisconsin for granted. to be absolutely certain they are calling on the services of the democratic party's campaign and chief barack obama. the stated goal of this event today is to get out there early vote which begins today and this is deep blue madison, wisconsin,

so it appears by the former president is likely to create a lot more energy than the minnesota governor. but obama has artie voiced concern that black men are not motivated by the harris/walz campaign and accuse them of sexism, while speaking to voters in pittsburgh that black men just aren't feeling the idea of having a woman as president. walz has been courting the black vote as well, but framing it with health care. >> i think for all of you this idea of really focusing and certainly in the black community, focusing on the things that matter, how is it right in the richest country of the world that two babies born at the same hospital, if one is a white baby and one is a black baby, the white baby is going to live longer because of the way the system is set up, they will be healthier during their lives. >> in 2016, donald trump won wisconsin by just .77% or 22,000

and he will say, look, in effect harris is going to be great for the black community and you don't want the republicans anywhere near the black community. i think -- look, he has on a roll, he is out there having fun. most ex-presidents make it a point to stay out of politics. i think that's former president really likes being in politics behind the scenes in the administration and now out front on the stump out there and he does a good job. >> sandra: summer reading his legacy is on the line here, but there is also some weakness where the former president may be able to help with kamala harris and voters. so while we do anticipate we will hear his message on the ground in wisconsin, perhaps it's because of the headline that you have in "the wall street journal," mark as you talk about donald trump has the edge for now. donald trump has an edge over mystms. harris because he has re the democrat vote among black and latino voters especially men

he has adopted a successful strategy of finding niche issues in key states. no tax on tips in nevada, fracking in pennsylvania and saving auto manufacturing jobs in michigan. latino voters at high levels of concern about the economy. you brought it up, is it about the economy for all these folks? >> look at, as i illustrate, donald trump is on offense. he is reaching out to voters that he did not have in the last campaigns and the republicans generally don't have. he is going to new community as a working voters and has targeted auto workers, targeted energy industry workers. he has targeted casino workers in nevada and targeted men in particular black men, and that has the democrats on defense. and today have to strengthen their boats among the black community, they are playing defense while donald trump is

playing offense. >> sandra: really interesting, mark. i want to play out this for the 2024 the vp harris support among latino voters just from earlier today, listen. speak of the latino the won voting bloc is not monolithic, it's one of the mistakes that they have made where it represents a huge and broad spectrum of folks that are in the united states where we are in a campaign, so you have to earn everybody's vote and figure out the way the votes are. >> sandra: that some concern we have heard from voters leading up to election day that they don't want their vote to be assumed just because of who they are or the color of their skin or from where they come. so what for example could harris do to win over some of their support? to earn the support with 14 days to go if they are undecided? >> i think the latino voters in particular do not have a

long-standing history of just voting for democrats and they are the newest building block in the country come from when i was doing it in '96 to being 2% now to about 13% of the electorate and 13% of the country. these voters care about the economy more than anything else. they have to provide for their family. they have been squeezed by inflation. i think that, you know, who is better on inflation? who can do more for the economy? who is going to meet their basic working-class kitchen table concerns is really what that is about. it is not about race or ethnicity or country of origin. it is about economics. >> sandra: is a really interesting quote that i will finish with this, nbc news, obama on the campaign trail has won particularly tough crowd talking about the outreach to young black men. but it's not certain that obama's target audience is listening. a younger generation of black americans may have seen little

two polls looking at the national vote last week, the survey has harris up by 1 and the fox news poll has donald trump up by 2. health history in mind, the close national or popular vote should mean that donald trump would lead in the battlegrounds, but that's not the case according to "the washington post" survey right here. they harris lead in the fox news poll even though it's within the margin of error could suggest while donald trump is performing better nationally than he was four years ago he is doing so perhaps and effectively backing votes and places where he is artie winning while the power rankings reported the senate and the house, it does remain a toss-up where we see this week's movement, 22 races could go either way. new york 17 shifts from the toss-up to pennsylvania 10, moving to a toss-up in wisconsin that goes from red to pink. now marilyn six district could be a sleeper race to prom solid to likely, now three strengthening for democrats and also new york moves to are there a democrat in the anchor john avalon facing the extent of his residency and lastly more than 15.3 million ballots have been

days, most of them have been in the dark unless you have a generator if you are a fancy hotel or if you are in a hospital. it's been incredibly challenging for families especially those with small children. >> i have a 3-month-old child, my head is itching and i can't take it anymore. there is no light, no water, there is nothing. this is an abuse. >> those cuban power stations were built by the soviet union and most of them are of almost 50 years old as they have gotten cheaper fuel from the soviet union and venezuela in the past but that is largely dried up so when you have no electricity you have no running water and no refrigeration to keep food from spoiling is really hard on diabetics as well and people on oxygen tanks. it's pretty common across the island to have power and outages 20 hours a day, but this is something new driving thousands of cubans to flee the country. >> fortunately, the last four

the influx of migrants to her community. good to sit down and talk with you, appreciate it. so the population of cass county was 38,000, but has now grown by 30 percent with a lot of predominantly haitian migrants who have moved in and a lot trying to find work at the local chicken processing plant, what is the effect been in your mind to the community? >> it is just over run. we don't have space for everybody. so the housing has been taken over, and our schools have been taken over. pretty much the whole town has been taken over a period. >> in terms of the school being taken over, the population in 2021 was 14. that number has grown to 207. and there is a lot of complaints that many of the students are el students, english learner students they can't do the coursework and are getting moved up from grade to grade without being able to understand the

material or pass the grade. >> yes, they just get passed on. they don't actually have to pass the grade. they actually just get moved forward and forward and forward. so they get left behind and it does not help our students. it actually holds them behind as well. >> john: so we heard that 116-year-old student, a young woman was an honor student and logansport but she was not able to get the attention of the teachers that she felt she needed to excel. so she dropped out of school and is now being home schooled with online courses, but here's what the logan sports school district told fox news about whole situation. they said we have a total of 207 haitian students in our population that makes up about 5% of our student population. i had not had any complaints with student needs not being met to the english learners corporation. who need extra support are given no supports through specific

programs we offer. let me come back. "i have not had any complaints of students needs not being met due to the service of the english learners population." in that experience what is the case? >> with my children, no. i have a child that i help take care of that is dyslexic and does not help get the help she needs. she needs a little more hands-on. and to read to. and they don't help her. they are trying to specialize with these kids that kneel more english. it's harder. >> john: it is the idea of spokesperson saying i have not had any complaints. do you believe that no one has complained about this to the school board? >> no, i believe that their parents complaining. i know 400 students that are homeschooled. so who believe they have called

and campaigned. and they are asking for help, the casket had commissioner has concerns about it. listen to what she said. >> for many like we met last week that had not seen their parents and about seven years. it is an eye-opener. >> john: when you grow the population of a small town by 30% over the course of a couple or three years it's going to strain the infrastructure i would think. >> yes, there is definitely a big strain, but it has not just been three years. it's been in that time frame of a year's time where we really boosted our people and there is so much more of an influx of not just haitians, but migrants in general. we are struggling with keeping everybody here and our hospitals are full too. >> john: do you feel that the federal government has adequately addressing this? and how might the situation affect your thoughts about the coming election?

>> no, they are definitely not to, and i definitely won't be voting for harris because she is not doing anything. she said she is going to do something, why not doing something now? you are bringing in letting people come here and we can't sustain these people, the small communities, our country cannot sustain growth and this amount of numbers in this time frame. it is not feasible. we don't have houses for the ones that live here. >> john: candace espinoza, we will watch the situation with you, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts. >> thank you, have a great day and thank you for having me. >> john: learning about these little towns in america that have an influx of people who are either looking to resell were looking for work or put there by the federal government or bust out by governors and border states and the towns are just having a really difficult time under the crush of the increase

>> john: expecting to get an update from the pentagon any moment now, a lot of questions about that leaked intelligence on israel's planned attack against iran. the fbi investigating the intelligence that may have compromised those plans. meanwhile the secretary of state antony blinken as on the ground in israel pushing again for a cease-fire. white house press secretary jukarine jean-pierre addressing that moments ago. >> it goes several times especially since october 7th till the year, and it's diplomacy, obviously. it's an opportunity to talk to -- he is in israel today, but to talk to our allies and partners in the region about what can we do to de-escalate tensions is something we are very focused on. what can we do to stop the war? >> john: live with the latest and the idea of a cease-fire is nothing that is likely imminent?

>> yes, john come exactly right with the war ongoing and gaza and lebanon there are still diplomatic efforts underway to try and find an off-ramp for the region as tensions continue to escalate. today u.s. secretary of state antony blinken is on the ground in israel and met this morning with israel's prime minister benjamin netanyahu before having a meeting with israel's defense minister. he was speaking with these individuals about unexpected attack that israel will conduct against iran following that ballistic missile attack earlier this month that saw 180 ballistic missiles sort through the skies of the country. the americans are working closely with the israelis to determine what a defensive posture might look like if that draws more fire into israel. as they were meeting there were air strikes taking place in the lebanese capital of beirut as they are looking to put new pressure on has below after a night of air strikes targeting the neighborhood. local health officials say 13

sandra. >> sandra: to washington now, released by the house judiciary committee saying x trump prosecutor nathan wade met with white house staff, not once, but twice during the investigation of donald trump election interference. let's bring in andy mccarthy a former u.s. assistant attorney and fox news contributor, what have you been able to determine from what we've learned so far, andy. >> well, sandra, i can't think of a good reason for a state prosecutor to be meeting with a political official. i should point out that there is nothing at all unusual about prosecutors from the state or the federal government meeting with their counterparts, meeting with prosecutors from other jurisdictions. that sort of thing happens all the time. it famously happens in the context of turf battles between offices fighting for high-profile cases, but even when things are working as they are supposed to work, people should be cooperative with each other if they are in and

investigations that have mutual interest and yet you kind of have to do that to investigate an organized way. but you always want to avoid the appearance that politics is driving law enforcement decisions and i just can't for the life of me imagine a good reason why a state prosecutor would meet with white house officials. you can totally understand the meeting with justice department officials to sort out the competing federal and state interests, but white house officials it seems very peculiar and even more peculiar to me that that meeting he testified about and not surprisingly had amnesia about happens to have happened on the very same day when attorney general garland appointed jack smith as special counsel to take over the federal election interference case. >> sandra: you mention amnesia because there are multiple places where he says i do not remember, but as far as this --

the transcript released that we know have been because of the subpoena, he did say that he was preparing to prosecute donald trump even before she took office and that she put weight on a search committee to find a prosecutor which ultimately chose him for the job, andy, this was the portion of the transcript that was very revealing about what you just mentioned when presented with invoices for billing white house meetings, wade said he cannot recall, so question one, turning back to invoice number 8, working off of the line that says travel to athens, do you remember meeting with the white house counsel in may of 2022? i don't, said way. do you have any recollection of meaning with anyone for the white house counsel's office? i don't. how could he have so easily forgotten something so important just two years ago? >> i'm not sure that he has forgotten so much as he does not want to remember. there is a reason why the judge in georgia, judge mcafee went

disqualifying wade, i think you should also disqualify fanny willis, but that's a different story. but there is a reason why the judge concluded that their testimony left an odor of mendacity in the courtroom and i think that he kind of may have brought that odor of mendacity with him to jim jordan's hearing room for his deposition. the explanations where the failure to recall does not make any sense, and look, any prosecutor who has handled a high-profile case where you have to meet with top level federal officials, particularly if it is a peak who will your meeting with political officials, if i was in a meeting like that, i could virtually give you a transcript of what happened. so the idea that he can't recall after sitting there for eight hours is peculiar. >> john: he also said this of the transcript reveals about pressure to file charges against donald trump. he was asked and did anyone in

the white house direct you or to your knowledge anyone else at the fulton county office to file charges against donald trump? he responded "no, ma'am. another bit of information coming from all of this is that nathan wade apparently admitted that he needed the special write code training, and the organization act training, i believe that it is what it is called, and deed to lead the georgia case against donald trump. what does all of this reveal to you, andy? >> i think it underscores that he had no business being on a complex criminal case. i did rico cases for a number of years as a federal prosecutor. it's a very complicated statute and in some ways it was a very innovative statue when congress enacted in 1971. georgia is prosecuting donald trump under its analog. but i think the fair inference from this, sandra is that he was not brought in because he was the senior experienced hand who

a ban on exports of liquid natural gas that is the commodity from fracking. and that ban not only impacts people in the industry, meaning the welders come of the blue-collar workers, but also the geologist and the c suite and everyone else is a part of the industry, but it also impacts farmers. farmers generated $193 million from royalties from the industry. so if you are truly not against banning fracking, you need to step up and say i disagree with my administration and i am going to lift the ban. so it's falling on deaf ears for her saying yes, i'm okay with fracking now. >> john: here's what the oil and gas association said about this latest twist, they said the new position in october opposes fracking and no longer supports her position in july when she
