out in the rural. red area north of atlantic in the three congressional districts up there, and as you can see most republican county, forsyth and cherokee are the most republican counties in the greater metropolitan area of atlanta but if you get up in those other counties further, they are even redder. >> sandra: where you think the trump campaign should be focusing most of their energy when it comes to the issues and places like georgia? >> well look, the issues are national. he has consistently let on the issue of the economy, inflation, and the border. it's a three some. and keep going at it. and the problem is he's got to be disciplined in doing that because she is eating away at those margins and his advantage on the border a month ago 20 points, now 15. his advantage on the economy was 15, it is now eight. she doesn't need to win those issues. but if she dampens his advantage

trump leads by about 2.5 points, still within the margin of error, but when you consider that georgia is 30% african americans, more than twice the national average, and black men are now going toward trump, to some degree, that could present problems for kamala harris. >> it's doesn't just present problems, or could be, it is a major problem. got to keep in mind when it comes to african americans in any presidential election year, for the democrat, that person usually receives a percentage of 90% plus. kamala harris at this point isn't even cracking 80%. among black voters. and that is problematic for her candidacy because the black community has been the backbone of the democratic party. but black folks are saying all over the country, not just in georgia, but enough is enough. enough of using the same old racial playbook they have been running since the '60s, republicans are racist and don't want to do anything for you, enough of that. we want to hear about policy, we want to hear about what can you

do to move our community forward, and they continue to use these same old tired plans on reparation studies and all these other things, which black folks are pushing back against. so we have an issue here for the kamala harris campaign, can you actually win this voting bloc the democrats have normally won and i think the answer is no, you're not going to win it like you used to. >> john: here in "the wall street journal," before the global pandemic shut down the economy in 2020, inflation-adjusted weekly earnings under mr. trump grew 12.5% for a black workers and 12.7% for black men according to the u.s. bureau of labor statistics. corresponding figures for white workers, 7.9% and 8.2% demonstrate the before covid taking games on white counterparts. biden-harris demonstration, inflation-adjusted less than 1% up and down 1.5% among whites. bill clinton's old argument in 1992, it's the economy stupid.

>> what we are talking about with "the wall street journal," the rate of increase, not performance level as the biden-harris team has mentioned several times this year on the campaign trail, at this point black unemployment rate is lower than it has ever been in the history of this country and black wages while not increase at increasing at the rate anyone would want to see happen but they are actually still increasing. that is not to say they are not economic issues and the vice president is talked about that, the cost of housing, those are major issues and that is why she released a plan that deals with that and is looking to address those issues, from increasing the inventory to making sure that we deal with predatory lending and making sure that you have access to capital and earn more money to increase the rate. the policy does matter and the vice president has rolled out a robust policy plan which would not seem from republicans. >> john: if you are an undecided voter and look at economic growth under trump,

12.5%, 12.7%, biden-harris 1%, not much of an argument there. >> i mean, there isn't much of an argument and i would want to know from fred, why hasn't she done all of these brilliant things already? and i understand that she is vice president, but joe biden has said that they are partnering on everything, she is the last one to leave the room, so things are so great and she has put forth such a powerful policy plan for african americans all over the country and people all over the country, why hasn't she done it? i think that is the fundamental question that a lot of voters are asking the kamala harris campaign because it's not happened. >> john: fred, final question to you, what we are seeing kamala harris' closing argument the last 13 days being is trump is a fascist come he embraces hitler and wants to have his generals. she's not saying young black men across the country, here's what i'm going to do for you economic late. at least, it's not illegal, what she proposed before. is at the right closing argument? and for her to call trump a

fascist, what do black men think about that? >> well, those are trump's words, not her closing argument. trump is the one who said he admires hitler's generals -- >> john: yeah, but she is the one making a point, is that what black voters want to hear? >> it is his generals and his administration, people who are talking about that and the reporters -- >> john: but fred, maybe i'm not articulating it right. but if you are a black man in the united states and you are trained to make up your mind who to vote for and you were on the cusp of going with trump, is calling him a fascist going to change your vote? >> well, again, she is talking about what is already being reported out there, but to answer your question, i want to make sure your viewers have the full spectrum here, the reality is she spent this weekend in atlanta, where i am right now, and she spent both saturday and sunday talking about her economic plan, talking about her plans for black america, and talking to and dealing with matters relating specifically to black men. another week before that she

also released her economic plan where she talked about access to capital and things of that nature so the reality is she is pressing the flesh, so to speak, to talk about this what the same time donald trump statements keep coming out and she would be foolish not to talk about that because those are things he is talking about, but for black men the economic empowerment is the number one issue and also access or the ability to take care of family and our children, and she is speaking to that. >> john: i'm just wondering calling him a fascist -- >> and why hasn't she done it? >> john: gianno, frank, good to catch up with you. a lot to talk about between now and november the 5th.v we will right backwh. safelite came right to us, and we could see exactly when they'd arrive with a replacement we could trust. >> singers: ♪ safelite repair, safelite replace. ♪
