♪ ♪ >> trace: news keeps breaking in georgia, multiple visits by both campaigns in a mass of early voting turnout is highlighting the importance of battleground georgia and it's 16 electoral votes. he's the senior correspondent, jonathan serrie. >> georgia is having continuing records every day it seems with early voting turnout. >> reporter: this afternoon georgia surpassed 2 million early ballots, more than 28% of the states active voters, more than doubling early votes at this phase of the last presidential election. >> i always vote early and georgia. i don't want to be caught up on the day of. we get in and out easy. >> reporter: knowing who voted will help their campaigns tweak their ground games in the battleground state but experts say the numbers alone revealed little about whose ahead because george's open primary system does not register voters by party. >> people will pay attention to demographics because there is racial polarization in terms of party identification but the

truth is we are not going to know for sure who voted for whom until we see the results come in after 7:00 p.m. on nove november fifth. >> reporter: the georgia supreme court has blocked the republican-controlled state election port from implementing several new procedures during the grant election cycle including one that would have required election night and counts to verify the number of pallets collected. but other election integrity efforts are proceeding including the georgia secretary of state's embrace of new technology to audit voter rolls for non-u.s. citizens. >> the 20 individuals, noncitizens who were canceled, were canceled based on individualized information from those people. they signed affidavits to get out of jury duty basically saying i am a noncitizen. >> reporter: georgia election officials reported the 20 names to district attorney's for possible prosecution. there audit also flagged 156 potential non-u.s. citizens that the secretary of state's office plans to investigate further. >> trace: thank you, let's

bring in former georgia republic on rismond doug collins and senior trump surrogate bruce levell. congressman, to you first, this is as of an hour ago, the latest numbers for early voting turnout. total turnout, 2,159,000. it's 30% of the turnout. 55% female, 45% male. congressman, what does it tell you, and what do you think of the exploding numbers? >> i think it goes to all those lies about george's voting laws and all the voter suppression nonsense other democrats want to come up with. simply show a photo i.d. to get an absentee ballot or vote. it shows they've been gaslighting the american people for years and it has to stop. but with all due respect to the professor you had on a moment ago, we do know who's showing up at the polls so there are ways to tell whose voting. what they don't want to say is that these numbers are incredibly good for

that 60% of those people polled say that the country is on the wrong direction, not on the right track. what do you think? >> that's the biggest issue the harris campaign has never overcome. people are not satisfied with the economy, inflation, the border and they have no answer for it. when we look at that in the perspective of what the poll says, it also shows something very clear to me, 17% of african american vote said they were undecided. that's not undecided, they are not voting, they don't like harris, or they are maybe going to about donald trump. but i don't care what the polls say, it still matters. if you have not voted, get out and vote. this thing is not over. >> trace: we talk about the 60% saying the country is on the wrong track but the same poll said the following, georgia voter top issues, number 1 is inflation, cost-of-living

venezuela, cuba, iran, they can lead the way for american -- americans to say be careful what you do. this thing is a gift and we are lucky to have it and god bless america. >> trace: do you wonder when you talk to people in this country who don't seem to embrace free speech or don't seem to care, that some of our free speech rights are trampled on, are you kind of surprised that they feel like they do? >> i think it's surprising that youth don't know that they have -- what they have until it's gone. i'm just trying to ward them. when they do my turning point shows we start off by saying if you get offended easily, please leave, the rest of us are going to have fun and be open-minded. then i make fun of everybody equally and that's not allowed. there are certain groups in college campuses where they say don't make fun of this group are that one. they make fun of a man who became a woman and is now winning. we should have men sports, women's sports and a new category, x-men or the transformers so we can all get along.

>> a lot of good journalists at cbs, i've worked with many. some have come from pox. i know there are good people there but i think in this case it has to be intentional. >> trace: it's interesting. ashley strohmier, your thoughts? >> these are mistakes that you make in the first couple of years of your journalism career and if you are at cbs then you probably have been doing this for quite some time. it does not make any sense other than they are trying to make him look bad at the last hour. this is going to upset a lot of people who watch cbs because a lot of trump supporters. >> trace: it is. christina coleman, when i was looking at this i thought it's interesting because cbs usually before they want something like that they do their own sourcing, they go out and do their own sourcing to make sure they can back this up. you have to have a couple of sources. to go with their thinly veiled sources and you have a strong denial from the family, it seems a little like you put this one on the back burner. >> absolutely. that's why i agree with everyone, i believe it was intentional. i also believe it's hurtful and
