>> five years ago, might well theorize the district attorney i would not think i would testify on immigration consequences of the open border and fentanyl pouring into the united states and making its way into our community setting record overoverdose deaths not to mentn serious violent crime we had seen committed in our communities by illegal immigrants. some of those cases are ongoing so we have to make that disclaimer they are presumed innocent until proven guilty. but it is certainly tax the resource in the criminal justice system here. >> carley: sheriff, hop into the conversation. you are 36 miles where the d.a. so what are the things you will highlight at the hearing today? >> good morning, carley, thank you for having me. the things we are highlighting focus not only on the deaths and sexual assault and objections

that occur but just sheer fast amount of fentanyl coming into the community. and i like district attorney tony who thought we would never be talking about this, especially under the trump administration. we had so much support of the border and starting to see progress. there is a lot of work to be done but real progress as far as individuals feeling they will be accountability if they cross the border and came up here. we have so much fentanyl here. we have an individual who brought annabelle five and a half ounces of fentanyl and just at the end of president trump's last administration. and then move into the biden-harris administration shortly thereafter. they did nothing but that case. nobody has been prosecuted. a cartel member in wisconsin which is a border state. it is amazing that the administration did absolutely

nothing with this in two short years later, we end up with back on the radar not in prison. we are the ones holding this individual accountable. he should not have been here in the first place and our state prison system has to deal with him 20 years because of additional charges because they did not do their job in the first place. >> carley: who sits up the top of the government impacts local level and year witnessed firsthand. be up and talking about it, kamala harris cnn town hall yesterday and the border obviously came up. she said the administration did the right thing when it came to the border and she blamed congress for not asking a border bill. she never intended to support decriminalization of border crossers although she said she would in 2019. here's the quote, "i never intended or allowed america to have a border that is not secure." what you think about that? >> it is hard to understand what is coming out of her mouth based

on the statements and campaigned on an attorney general from the border state and district attorney. i am a district attorney and i see the consequences and despite that experience, she supported the biden administration rolling back the executive orders president trump put in place gaining control of the southern border and helping to slow the flow of fentanyl in the legal drugs and immigrants into the country. the reality is vice president uris has no credibility and want to elect somebody who will control the border, that is president trump. >> carley: more than 600 people living in the united states illegally have ties to venezuela again and a aragua. thank you for joining us and asked have luck and we appreciate you being on. >> thank you. >> todd: how difficult it was to understand the policy was. along those lines, she addresses
