this is what it's like to be a cat chasing another cat through a car park. as they say in england. kind of cute. yeah. this is what it's like. just get really close to the tv. if you're home and you will find out what it's like to be a cat. look how busy it is. everything is low. you're running around. this is exactly how it feels when you're going for a walk. dana. yeah, you got to know what i mean. it makes you tired just watching. i know, isn't it great? he got his steps in. it goes on for four hours, dana. well, there's been a little bit of a heat wave here in new york. it's been a glorious weather. i want to show you, hugo. he's taking advantage of this at central park. this is how he, you know, cleans himself at the park. they've having to water because there's so been so dry. we haven't had any rain. that's darcy's frien. yes, he likes no one ate the dog. greg. yeah. they're eating. you don't have that problem here. that's it for us. have a good night. welcome to jesse watters, prime time tonight. you've been in the white house for four years. why
10:01 pm
wasn't any of that done over the last four years? well, there was a lot that was done, but there's more to do, anderson. and i'm pointing out things that need to be done that haven't been done but need to be done. kamala harris, limping to the finish line. we can't have this conversation without knowing what it's very complicated situation, right? if her goal was to close the deal they are not sure she did that. >> when she doesn't want to answer a question her habit is to go to word salad city. >> jesse: the media is getting embarrassed. >> kamala harris participated in a 1% last night and she lost speed to rinkmak. >> jesse: what the 911 calls tell us.
10:02 pm
>> jesse: kamala harris wanted another debate and she got one. a debate with herself. >> she participated in a one-person debate last night and she lost. >> jesse: she was supposed to close the deal but somehow she made things worse. >> i will tell you what i'm hearing from people who i've been talking to and that is that if her goal was to close the deal they are not sure she did that. some asked if she's being held to a different standard, maybe but that's maybe the world that she's living in. >> jesse: what different standard is she being held to? is it because she's a woman? is it because she's black? is it because it she's knew at this? she's not that knew at this. she's been a politician for 20 years. they are still making excuses. do you want a president who the
10:03 pm
media as to make excuses for? we just had that and that's why she is the nominee. if this was the final job interview, she's not getting a call back. in any job interview. it sounds cliche but they ask you what is your biggest weakness? >> what weaknesses do you bring to the table and how do you plan to overcome them while you are in office? >> that's a great question joe. i'm certainly not perfect. so let's start there. i think that -- a weakness but i think it's a strength is i really do value having a team of very smart people around me who bring to my decision-making process different perspectives. and my team will tell you i am constantly saying let's kick the tire on that. >> jesse: my biggest weakness
10:04 pm
i could think of half a dozen things off the top of my head. i'm impatient, i don't listen carefully. sometimes i'm late. my biggest weakness is actually my strength, come on. >> what you think your greatest strengths as a manager. >> why don't i tell you what my greatest weaknesses are. i worked too hard, i care too much and sometimes i can be too invested in my job. >> okay. and your strengths. >> my weaknesses are actually strengths. >> jesse: she's becoming a stereotype of a typical slippery politician who is too fuzzy to trust. >> is there something you can point to in your life in the last four years that you think is a mistake that you have learned from? >> i've made many mistakes.
10:05 pm
if you've ever parented a child you know you make lots of mistakes. in my role as vice president, i've probably worked very hard at making sure that i am well versed on issues and i think that is very important. it's a mistake not to be well-versed on an issue and feel compelled to answer a question. >> jesse: she touched on something that makes her human. she became a stepmother to doug's children and she made some mistakes helping raise them. that's relatable. a lot of americans deal with that. and answer could give us insight into who she is. but she gives us a phony answer. that her biggest mistake is she's too prepared. does anybody believe that she's over prepared for this job? again off the top of my head, half a dozen things. i was immature in college. i didn't take care of my body in
10:06 pm
my 30s. i shouldn't have swallowed that pill that greg gave me. she could've killed two birds with one stone and said we probably shouldn't have spent so much money on covid recovery. we didn't get the number right. how hard is that? you show some humility and then you distance yourself from biden in the same answer. at this point, i'm not sure she can answer what's your favourite colour. >> i may not be quick to have the answer as soon as you ask it about a specific policy issue sometimes because i'm going to want to research at. i'm going to want to study it. i'm kind of a nerd sometimes, i confess. >> jesse: if this is kamala harris studied and well-researched we are in trouble. she spent 48 hours preparing for this town hall. and couldn't even answer this question. >> if you could accomplish only one major policy goal that required congressional action,
10:07 pm
what would it be and why? >> there's not just one have to be honest with you. there's a lot of work that needs to happen but i think that maybe part of this point how i think about it is we've got to get past this era of... slowing down what we need to do in terms of practice in our country to be one she couldn't name a single thing she would do on day one. how is this race even close? i'm surprised she didn't say i'll tell you what i won't do on day one, be a dictator. trump said day one drill baby drill and close the border. kamala it set on day one i'm going to get past the era of partisan politics slowing down what we need to do in terms of progress in our country. that's memorable. that is so memorable. i'm sure everyone's talking about her day one agenda. this is when anderson cooper started getting annoyed.
10:08 pm
>> is a border wall stupid? it. >> let's talk about donald trump and the border wall. so remember donald trump said mexico would pay for it? come on. they didn't. >> you agree to a bill that would earmark $650 million to continue building that while. >> i'm good to bring forward that bipartisan bill to further strengthen and secure our border we need a president who is grounded in common sense and practical outcomes. let's just fix this thing. let's fix it. why is there any ideological perspective on it. let's fix the problem. >> you're doing this compromise bill. it does call for $650 million that was earmarked under trump to actually still go to build a wall. >> i'm not afraid of good ideas where they occur. >> you don't get stupid anymore. >> i think what he did and how he did it did not make much sense because he actually didn't do much of anything.
10:09 pm
i just talked about that wall. we just talked about it. he didn't actually do much of anything. >> you do want to build some wall. >> i want to strengthen our border. >> jesse: she is campaigning on fixing the problems she created. promising to build a wall that she tore down and called stupid. but now thinks is a good idea. and she's asking the voters to give her the power to do the things that she already has the power to do. but hasn't done. >> you've been in the white house for four years but why wasn't any of that done over the last four years? >> there was a lot that was done but there's more to do anderson. i'm pointing out things that need to be done. that haven't been done but need to be done. >> jesse: to haven't been done because it she hasn't done them. she's done nothing except reverse the progress trump made. we keep waiting for her to have the big breakout moment, that justifies her coronation. there has to be some reason the
10:10 pm
democrats anointed this woman. it's 12 days until the election. and they are all asking her the same exact questions and expecting a better answer. >> how can we differentiate your policy and your beliefs from that of biden's? >> that's a great question and thank you. first of all my administration will not be a continuation of the biden administration. i bring to this role my own ideas and my own experience. i represent a new generation of leadership on a number of issues and believe that we have to actually take new approaches. >> jesse: what are the new approaches? nobody knows. she's gotten asked the same series of questions for the last month. how are you different than joe, what happened to the border? how are you going to tackle inflation? did you notice biden was slowing down anytime? and who are you? and what you going to do on day one? she's hurting herself on cnn and
10:11 pm
shows like the view. what does that tell you? the media has given up and now they are embarrassed that they propped her up. >> when she doesn't want to answer a question, her habit is to kind of go to word salad city >> it gets on my nerves. i think that it's not necessary. >> she focused a lot more on donald trump. i think it's fair to say then she did on many specifics in terms of what she would do as president. >> she's a true double threat. terrible on her feet when she gets on a spec to question's and simultaneously she can't even answer the expected questions. its nothing nothing nothing. >> if she were an animal she would be duckbill platitude. >> jesse: you have to remember these people are there to help. this is a handpicked town hall with her good friend anderson
10:12 pm
who isn't asking gotcha questions. what's your biggest weakness, what's your biggest mistake. these are questions and admissions... leland, tell me about a challenge you faced in your life that you were able to overcome. could you see anderson cooper asking trump the questions he's asking her? she is being held to a different standard and she's not even up to it. >> i think that she takes a really long time to get to her point and that she does will lie on talking points too often. she's got much better than she used to but it's almost as if she's afraid to say something that will later come back to haunt her. i just wish she would say this is our plan or you are right, a lot of immigrants have -- illegal immigrants have come
10:13 pm
into this country during the biden administration but this is why in this is what i want to do about it moving forward. i don't find her explanation of policy that compelling compared to say someone like bill clinton or barack obama. >> jesse: tell me something i don't know katie. the media made her from scratch this summer and told everyone she was sensational. and are now disappointed she's collapsing during the home stretch. kamala harris was just a fantasy of the media's imagination. and anything but joe doll that they pieced together in chicago and now they are all shocked she can barely walk. the scary thing is if the election had been in september, she might have one. and america would've been stuck with a woman not even cut out to be a small town mayor. that's how corrupt the kamala candidacy is. it was a ruse that ran out of runway.
10:14 pm
trump transition team member and brand-new republican tulsi gabbard is here. we will get to your transition in a second. not that type of transition. >> it's a dangerous word. >> jesse: the political transition. why can't kamala harris answer yes or no? does she realize it's getting annoying? >> clearly not because she keeps doing it over and over again. it's very clear that she is afraid to say the wrong thing and the wrong thing is something that her pollsters have not scripted for her. that is where you get all of these answers that don't answer the questions, that are very fair and legitimate that voters and even the cnn guys are asking her and instead you get this -- you can tell she pauses and she's trying to go through the rolodex of talking points and see if she can come up with the right one that generally fits with that topic. even there she's failing.
10:15 pm
to say it doesn't inspire confidence is putting it lightly. to me it points to how dangerous she would be as our president and commander in chief knowing as you and i know who the powers that be are behind the curtain who would be feeding her these talking points and making decisions about war and peace with kamala harris as their figurehead. >> jesse: if she's elected and she has a summit with putin, what is she going to do with vladimir putin if she can't handle anderson cooper? >> it is a dangerous thing and more of an example of how disqualified she has made herself for our presidency. the fact that she has no idea we have active-duty troops deployed into combat zones around the world today. the fact that she doesn't know apparently that over the last three and a half years as it she's we have secure borders. we don't.
10:16 pm
the list goes on and on. she is lying to the american people. she is spouting talking points that they tell her she needs to use to win this election and yet again showing how little she thinks of us that we are going to fall for this nonsense and somehow elector to the presidency. those of us who are paying attention can see right through her and see who she really is. >> jesse: the questions are getting easier. name a mistake you've made it, tell me her greatest weakness. these are like a beauty pageant questions. she's not even able to answer them. >> exactly. you just said, imagine if trump did a cnn town hall and anderson cooper asked him those same questions. they would never do that. they are holding her to a different standard. it is a far lower standard than they hold to donald trump and it's not the standard they
10:17 pm
should hold to any candidate asking the american people to trust them to be our president and commander in chief. we deserve better and deserve more. >> jesse: a lot of people flirt with the idea of changing parties, they consider it. you've done it. you are still alive and nothing happened. your head didn't catch on fire and you still have your friends. any advice for people who are considering this. >> independent thinkers like me have no home in the democrat party of censorship and total conformity. under president trump's leadership the republican party welcomes people like us, encourages this open debate and different ideas, is pro-freedom, pro piece. president trump has transformed this republican party that is welcoming many people like me to come and actually stand for the core principles of our country, our constitution, freedom and peace and prosperity. >> jesse: thank you very much.
