gin up more attention and ultimately help boost her in battleground states. her speech in houston focus on abortion, so she will zero in on the state's six week abortion ban. expected amances of beyonce and willie nelson today is the latest effort by harris to harness star power to get her through the finish line. her campaign says about 23,000 people attended her event with former president obama in georgia yesterday. >> over the last years, and particularly the last 8 years, donald trump has become more confused, more unstable, and more angry. his campaign says his rally eft to turn out supporters in blue states and show that trump can fill an arena in a way that they say harris wouldn't be able to. yesterday in las vegas, he once again teased eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and social security. >> let's do a poll, free poll. no tax on tips. joe rogan expected to go three hours. first he said i'm not going to interview trump. they kept requesting it. then he changed his mind. he also was somebody who said he was going to vote for bernie sanders. when bernie sanders nomination. he probably voted for trump because he wanted no part of joe biden. this will be interesting because he did say on the record he thought that kamala harris had a better debate. so will he say hey, mr. president, you weren't too good in that debate and see how that goes. i don't think trump is too worried about it. he has already done at least 17 separate podcasts. >> lawrence: i think it's incredible that hillary -- i'm sorry, kamala harris much like hillary clinton is using all the celebrities. >> brian: they are good for raising money. it packs the seats. >> lawrence: maybe that is a visual representation of what she wants to show that she has the people there the american people just aren't buying it. when you look at the rcp average and go through all the states. that's what matters.

trump is winning in arizona wisconsin, michigan and north carolina and georgia. hillary clinton and joe biden were up massively in all of these states at this same point in time. and so what i think the american people are saying you may have the rich and the famous support supporting you. they are not going to have to deal with the consequences of four more years of economy, border, education system and crime across this country. >> steve: you were citing the real clear politics average. >> lawrence: they change everywhere day. >> steve: they average them all together. the "new york times" siena poll was released less than an hour ago. not surprising they are deadlocked at 48-48. that does not spell good news for kamala harris. because, in the last one, early october, she was actually ahead by three points. so here it is, once again, some good news for donald trump, the migration and the border is the number one issue with currently 15% of the people.

that's up from 12. and voters trust trump 11 points more than kamala harris. only 28% say the country is going in the right direction. that's not good for kamala harris. the economy in the last poll donald trump led by 13, now he leads by only 8. and then today in texas, it's all going to be about abortion and she leads by 16 points. the big question is, what is going to motivate people to go vote? is it abortion? it's worked in the past. is it going to matter this time? >> ainsley: we have, what, 11 more days until the election so we can expect more of calling trump a racist. calling him a nazi. calling him a fascist. hillary clinton was on another network yesterday. and she was talking about linking him to this rally. he is going to have a rally at msg. a lot of people sing and perform at msg. do you link everyone who has ever performed at msg to neo-nazi rally in 1939.

[laughter] but i have got friends who like me personally, acquaintances who aren't necessarily going to vote for me. that doesn't make them bad people. we can't -- this is my most important advice. whether you vote for me or vote for donald trump or vote for kamala harris, don't cast aside

family members and lifelong friendships. politics is not worth it. i think we follow that principle we heal the divide in this country. >> lawrence: i'm going to vote today. early voting. i think it matters. i think everybody -- i'm never going to tell people who to vote for. vote for whoever you think is the best candidate for your circumstances. i will say this. there seems to be pressure on people within my community. people that typically would vote for democrat is to ignore their circumstance to vote for kamala harris for either historical moment or because donald trump's words are just too much. he is too bombastic. choose your circumstance. do what is best for you and your family. it is okay for you to choose your grocery store prices, a secure border, and safety in your community. you should not be ashamed of that, because, guess what, all the people that are criticizing right now that sit in studios, when things go bad, they can

hire private security. they can afford kamala harris economy. you won't be able to afford it. and it's okay to choose your circumstance. >> ainsley: hillary clinton also in that interview, she said there is just too much evidence about what he wants to do. i was thinking there is too much evidence about what she wants to do. i'm glad you are bringing this up. you might not like this candidate personally. but are they going to be better for our country? are they going to be better for your pocketbook? are they going to be better -- because i was making a list of some of the evidence we have against kamala harris, grocery prices are so high. they were much higher for her than under president trump. borders are o she continues to do away with remain in mexico. she continues to spend $150 billion per year on housing food, education and healthcare for illegal immigrants, she continues to take money from people who couldn't afford college to pay for other people's college. >> lawrence: that's so true. >> steve: i think it was great that j.d. vance addressed the

elephant in the room. right now a lot of families split. >> lawrence: broken over. this. >> steve: over the last 8 years, 10 years, something like that, 20 years, we have seen real division in the country where it's right down the middle. and according to brand new "new york times" poll it's right down the middle when this comes to the president. people are sitting around their table like we are sitting around the table right now talking about food. everything costs so much. i mentioned it the other day i bought a pound of butter it cost 7 bucks. >> brian: making my own. churning every day. [laughter] >> steve: just like the economy not churning well but the electorate is churning. people need to sit down and have the conversation look, i am voting for my pocketbook. i know i have always voted democrat. it's okay. because what is going on right now does not work. >> brian: all right. one thing that is not dividing the city the subway series. thank goodness the mets decided to lose so we don't have a divided city.

again much in part due to a couple of netflix features detailing how eric and lyle menendez confessed and were convicted in the grizzly shotgun murders of their parents in 1989, when they were 18 and 21 years old. the brothers claimed they had been sexually abused by their father for years. but prosecutors argued money was the motive. now, decades later, the pair could soon be eligible for parole. los angeles county district attorney george gascon announcing that his office is recommending the brothers be resentenced, in part, based on new corroborating evidence of the abuse. >> i believe that they have paid their debt to society. and the system provides a vehicle for their case to be reviewed by a parole board. and the parole concurs with my assessment it will be their

decision. >> giving is he fighting to keep his job in a tough re-election campaign. >> george gascon down 30 points in re-election bid threw his hail mary today and is he letting out the menendez brothers. is he not letting them out. they are eligible for parole and is he going to make sure that happens. it is a terrible day for the criminal justice system. >> now, for the brothers to be prison the re-sentencing must be approved by a judge before it is official and then a parole board would have to sign off on the brothers' eventual release. ain'tly. >> ainsley: all right, chainly, this is fascinating. i have watching it more news to get to here a texas dps surveillance plane catching a shootout between rival factions of a mexican drug cartel.

crews opened the hatch to get the astronauts out. how cool is that? those are your headlines. brian, my friend, over to you. >> brian: thanks so much, carley. let's talk about the number one story in america and around the world that is this election 11 days and counting. let's look over in ers a trump up 1.5. biden was up by 2. hillary 1.5 with 11 days left. trump is winning in nevada. that would be a shocker. up .7. biden was up by 5 and hillary by 3. they would hold on to those states. trump would actually win arizona. trump lost wisconsin -- excuse me, won in 2016, then lost it. right now he is up by 0.2. obviously within the margin of error. in michigan trump broke the blue wall in 2016. put back together by joe biden just barely right now trump leads by 0.2%. in pennsylvania where everyone is focused on trump up by 0.6.

in pennsylvania at this point biden was up by 4.8 and hillary 5.2. hillary would go on to lose that in north carolina the last time a democrat won that was barack obama at this point with north carolina, biden was up 1.2 hillary up by 2.2. and then in georgia, trump lost it famously in 2020. is he now leading by 2.2%. good thing he mended fences with the governor there biden was up by 0.7 at this point. he would go on to win it. trump was up by 3.3. he would go on to win it against hillary clinton. here to discuss this, where we stand in the race, what could still change, the founder and president of real clear politics tom bevan, tom, what's your take away from trump leading but in the margin of error? >> yeah. five of seven battle grounds as you just laid out, brian, are under 1 percentage point. i get asked this all the time are these polls accurate. are they under counting trump's support in 2020 and 2016. obviously, if they are, he has

got even bigger leads in these states it seems to be very close at the national level harris is leading in the average. by three tentsdz of one percentage point. trump is in a way stronger position now than he was four and eight years ago. >> brian: you got to wonder why kamala harris would go to texas since it's not a battleground state. she is not going to win it. she going to go there to help collin allred against senator ted cruz. where all red is leading. why should you worry about the sentence when you should be worried about getting the presidency? >> well, right. it's an interesting strategic decision for her as president, but, for the senate, it makes sense. i mean, democrats, the map is pretty rough for them this year. with joe manchin leaving, jon tester is in big trouble in montana. sherrod brown is in trouble in ohio. ted cruz represents really the only opportunity for democrats to pick somebody off, a recent poll there had that race at one point is he up about 4 points, 2 points in our average. i went back and looked 2018,

path right now is pennsylvania, michigan, wisconsin. she wins those three and lose everything else and win it 270, 268. trump wins any of those states, is he going to be president. >> brian: harris, if you are the vice president, what state would you say i got to lock this up or i got to come back and take this? where would you go? >> well, obviously, as i just said she has got to win those upper three. her best opportunity outside of that is north carolina. 16 electoral votes it. would give her a little wiggle room. she could lose michigan and wisconsin pick up north carolina and still win the presidency. >> brian: tuesday she is going to give her closing argument at the ellipse. some say it's going to be all about january 6th and going to be about our democracy is at stake is that the closing message that will resonate with the american people? >> not if you believe the polls. i mean, the economy, inflation is the number one issue by three or four times. the next biggest issue. threat to democracy is somewhere well down the list. that's not what voters care about. so i think it probably -- it

>> ainsley: that is a fox news alert iran is preparing for war with israel as israel readies a retaliatory strike following tehran's missile attack earlier this month. overnight, five israeli reservists were killed while fighting hezbollah in lebanon. and now we are learning of even more combat deaths. matt finn joins us from tel aviv with the latest. matt? >> hi, ainsley. this morning hezbollah fired more rockets from lebanon here into israel. pretty much a daily occurrence here. and the idf now says it has lost 10 soldiers in total. killed in battle over the past 24 hours or so. overnight, israel struck suburbs in southern lebanon and says it's dismantled tunnels of hezbollah's elite forces.

israel says it's been targeting precise hezbollah locations in lebanon over the past couple of days. and turning towards peace talks the u.s. secretary of state is continuing five day trip of a meeting today in lebanon with the lebanese prime minister or in london, rather that meeting is part of a larger global attempt to prevent war between israel, iran and lebanon. and the "new york times" is reporting that if israel does retaliate against iran, for its missile strike on israel earlier this month, then iran is ready to respond. the scale, the "new york times" reports, would depend on israel's attack. and looking ahead to sunday, there is an important u.s.-led meeting in qatar between the u.s., egypt and qatar that will try to push for a hostage and cease-fire deal. a lot of options being thrown out there. one option that israel has presented is a smaller scale approach to the hostage releasing a few week by week. lawrence?

going to vote for a republican, why? >> oh, yeah. because the border policies can't go on the way they are. this is a breaking point. i thought that this would be an occasion for american citizens to come together and band together against this threat. and i was very disappointed at the pushback and the gaslighting by the democratic party. >> lawrence: yeah. this is what they are saying in their statement. this is the city of aurora. we must remember that police departments and the justice system as a whole must rely on admissible evidence. not hearsay rumors and fragments of information contrary to claims made on social media by select news organizations. the city including apd has remained consistent in responses on this matter. what's your response to that statement? >> well, they are consistently asking for people for video evidence. and they consistently asked me for months for my video evidence. i think it's time for police leadership to uncuff these

we have all paid into medicare. we prepaid these things. so no wonder people are getting a lot of it back. but then again, a lot of these numbers are not prepaid. >> yeah, steve, i mean i think it's a little bit misleading to call it government aid when people hear aid they think of welfare payments. they think of direct transfers where is a lot of this is really the social security that's mentioned. right now, nine out of 10 people over the age of 65 are drawing down government social security. and they feel like that is something that the system they paid into. they are tapping into that at a time when, frankly, a lot of them need it. i mean, one out of four, maybe one out of five older retirees are finding that, you know, most of that social security money is supporting them. given inflation is so high, given prices remain elevated. you are seeing that those social security benefits feel like a welfare support but, no, it's not a welfare support. we have got to be careful about calling it that. >> steve: thank you very much

for explaining it so people know the back story. i don't know that social security is such a big issue this time because neither of the candidates has talked about reforming it; however, donald trump has talked a little bit about no longer taxing social security, which, if you are on social security, you love that idea. >> yeah. among president trump's tax policy recommendations, in addition to the fantastic 2017 tax cuts, extending those, he also wants to cut those taxes on social security benefits, cutting taxes on overtime pay, cutting taxes, you know, on tipped work. these are great political ideas. >> steve: right. >> from a fiscal standpoint, i don't know if that's very strong. you are talking about cutting taxes on particularly on the social security side for social security benefits, that's, unfortunately, going to speed up or accelerate insolvency of social security by potentially maybe a year or more. right now we know that social security is on its path to
