♪ ♪ election season is stressful. a can bring out the worst in people. republicans got a little angry after the last election. and on the left is getting angry before this one. >> it is two weeks to the election. i'm feeling a lot of people panicking and then other people saying, no, no, no, don't panic. don't panic and i think those people are wrong. it is time to [bleep] panic. okay? i'm just going to call it like i see it. the polls are not good. truck has the momentum. he is a [bleep] nap a baby, incompetent, mother [bleep] who is mentally disintegrating in front of our eyes. and his supporters don't seem to care. so it is going to be up to the rest of us, [bleep] same people to save this country he is a

super-spreader. >> trump is eliminating music. >> it is people like billy who make the rest of us not want to talk politics. some people are afraid to talk about current events because of people like billy. no one wants to be screamed up or shamed for the vote. it drops some republicans into the closet especially here in the cities. it is a phenomenon called the shy trump voter. the psychotherapist who coined the term told business insider that being a trump supporter can carry a social risk, "for some, publicly supporting truck could invite criticism or ostracism from friends, family, or colleagues who hold opposing views."

but these people fear judgment or social consequences and this leads them to conceal their political beliefs. people may feel torn between their personal beliefs and the need to conform to social norms or expectations. this makes sense when you look at the polls. an overwhelming majority of the country thinks we are on the wrong track. and they say trump is better on all the major issues. but the polls are tied. we are about to find out how many shy trump voters are out there. psychotherapist and author of "be fearless," johnson albert. you have been speaking some clients over the course of several years during the trip and restoration, the biden administration, how have the trump arrangement population of people changed over the course of time. >> on a real clinician. i can't use that term. is a thing for sure. i think we need to go back to

2016 and after trump won the election, i had people come into my office, they were packing their bags. they were moving to canada. they were withdrawing their investment and they wanted trump dead. and i would gently nudge and say, you know, maybe you need to retake it. it may not be the healthiest thinking and maybe the very reason you should stay in this country is because you can go out there and protest in front of trump tower and they did not like it. some people fired me. it's not like to be confronted. but fast-forward to 2024 and we are seeing the same rhetoric after the assassination attempt in july. there are people who are disappointed that the shooter must. and again, after that in florida in florida. if your at that point where you want apical figured that, you probably need to check in with someone like me. >> jesse: oh, my god, so they

are bloodthirsty and they have major problems. and it is scaring the heck out of the rest of the country because now people are just afraid to talk politics. what does it mean when people are projecting like this? >> well, it is, jesse. and we have people who are afraid to come out and proudly state that they are voting for trump. they are afraid of being ostracized. one person that i work with, she is 30 something. she takes a cooking class. and the people in her class, they get around and they complain about trump and they just assume that she also feels the same way. and as a liberal. and she is not. she is -- she supports trump. she is a moderate. and she is just afraid to speak her mind. >> and there's a lot of people out there like that, i'm sure. what is donald trump terrorize the emotions of so many people just by being himself? what is it? >> you know, i think a lot of people have trouble accepting
