peter, thanks a lot -- in philadelphia. for more on president trump's closing message, let's bring in trump campaign senior adviser daniel afl -- danielle alvarez, welcome. >> thank you. mike: madison square garden, what are your expectations looking ahead to the big rally? >> well, madison square garden is an iconic venue, and president trump is an iconic man. new york city is his home state where he built his business before running for president, so he's going to the deliver his closing arguments. and really, you know, we're headed in the right direction as i talk to our chief data officer a just before coming on air with you with. we are trending in the right direction whether we looked at voter registration trends, polling trends, early voting, vote by mail trends. we are headed in the right direction because president trump is our secret weapon. he had four years of success in the white house. we have now just had four years of failure under kamala harris, and voters know only president trump can fix it. so we're not going to take off

foot off the gas. you'll hear from president trump surrounded by tens of thousands of patriots this evening for our closing message on the economy, on inflation, on the border and on peace at a home and abroad. mike: new york city's traditionally deep blue, but does that location help in terms of it being the media capital of the world? >> it absolutely is the media capital of the world. and again, with president trump being our secret weapon, we know that the media a will cover him. so we've been able to take him the really keep blue areas whether it was a bodega in harlem, whether it was in the south bronx, whether it was union workers early morning in new york city, wildwood, new jersey, coachella, california. president trumps has supporters across the country even in the deepest blue of areas. we are able to be competitive, again, because of that incredible record. because he had the plan -- he has a plan to make america great again, and so madison square garden is just that exclamation point on what has been an

incredible campaign cycle for president trump as we close out this final week. president trump is in deep blue new york which is his home city, in his home state. the media mecca of the world to talk to voters. mike: polling suggests a tight race in those seven battleground states expected to decide the election. do you buy it? >> well, as i mentioned earlier, we look at different metrics, not just polling which, by the way, we are tracking better than we ever have especially in comparison to 2020. republicans in comparison to the midterms in '22. we've also seen shifts in these battleground states 3-5 points in voter registration, swinging our way. we're also seeing that vote by mail is down, in some cases by 25. in the case of wisconsin, down by 50%. and we're also seeing that in every battleground state where in-person, early voting is happening, we are up. so, for example, in north

carolina for the first time we have overtaken democrats. in nevada for the first time, we have overtaken democrats. again, it's souls to the poll sunday, so we do expect a shift in democrats' favor, but right now if we continue in this trajectory, president trump will have a resounding victory. we ask, again, folks to not take their foot off the gas. go to the swamp the vote usa.com to make a plan to cast their ballot. mike: what's the approach in the final days of the campaign, and what is the former president's closing argument? >> all hands on deck in the final days as president trump said on joe rogan, it was been 50, 60 days -- it's been 50, 60 days since he's taken a break. while kamala harris is focused on president trump, president donald trump is focused on the american people. and for us it's been that consistent message that voters have told us what's most important to them. it is all about the economy, it is all about inflation, it's all about securing the border,

there have been so many comments about how the criminal justice -- ultimately, he went to an audience where he thought he would have favorability. even third party folks have particular things of interest that they want to the see, and system people believe former president donald trump is someone who threatens democracy. if you ask conservative friends, they'll say that's the case with vice president harris, but it depends what your individual priorities are. mike: all right. some recent headlines that caught our eye. from axios, behind the curtain, dems feel they're blowing it. from the hill, democrats feel the race may be slipping away from harris. what do you make of that, mckay la? >> if the -- michaela. >> if the rhetoric was going to work, the polls would not be this close. the only thing we have heard continuously from the democrat side of the aisle is that he is a danger and he is a threat to democracy. and they have been saying that for four, six years depending on

how you count. what i think the polls are showing is that people still concern and they're always a honest when you ask -- they care about immigration, they care about inflation, they care about the economy, they care about whether they're able to pay their rent. and those are issues that the democrat ticket just are refuses to talk about on substance. mike: j.d. vance made the sunday rounds today. i want to play a quick clip from him. >> wherest -- whether it's the cost of groceries, the southern border or, importantly, the chaos around the world, i think really the theme of this election is that kamala harris broke hinges in the world and the country -- things in the world and the country, and donald trump will fix it. mike: what do you make of that argument, erin? >> former president donald trump is not bob the builder, he's certainly not olivia pope. i think that if everything former president donald trump did when, in fact ors he was president, was working so well, those policies would still be in place now, but they aren't. the difference is donald trump

latest updates on this attack. hello, trey. >> reporter: yeah, mikes good afternoon. police are investigating following a suspected truck ramming attack just north of tel aviv that left 1 person did and more than 30 injured. here's what it looked like when he arrived at the scene is. right now first responders are at the scene of a truck ramming just north of tel aviv. paramedics say at least 35 people were injured in this attack and taken to local hospitals. the motive right now is unclear. police are investigating, this appears to be a terror attack just with outside of israel's second largest city, and reports indicate that the driver of the truck was shot by people at the bus stop following this ramming. this incident took place next to an israeli army base, and it caused a scene of chaos as police were trying to figure out exactly where the incident happened. we spoke with one paramedic on the scene who described what she saw when she areeved.

>> when we arrived, we saw a are truck and the bus, and under the truck there were, like, six injured people. >> reporter: the the current security situation comes amid the backdrop of israeli strikes against iran early yesterday morning. we know more than 100israeli fighter jets participated in those strikes that first targeted iran's missile defense systems if then went after missile production-related facilities in if around the iranian capital of tehran. the region waits to see if the iranian regime will respond to to these strikes. we're also tracking one other story as ceasefire talks resume in doha, qatar, a source familiar with the ongoing talks says if they are successful, the region could see a ceasefire that would last hess than a month, and currently the source says the parameters are still being worked out in terms of the number of israeli hostages that would be exchanged for palestinian prisoners. mike?

♪ mike: immigration and customs enforcement has announced the arrest of a 20 the-year-old illegal immigrant who entered the u.s. as a gotaway, charging him with the aggravated rape of a child in massachusetts. maaed if lin rivera is live with the latest on this horrific story. >> reporter: mike, local authorities had arrested the suspect earlier this year. he was arraigned by springfield district court on july 18th for two counts of aggravated rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older. he was released after he posted bail. on october 18th, enforcement and removal operations officials from boston arrested the 20-year-old guatemalan migrant in springfield.

he now has a notice to appear before a department of justice the immigration judge. at this point immigration officials don't know where or when gal vez entered the country illegally, but they do say he entered without being inspected, admitted or parolessed by a u.s. official. the acting director for ero in boston saying in a statement, he stands accused of horrifically victimizing a massachusetts child and represents a significant threat to to our neighborhoods. we owe it to the children of our new england communities to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen threats. the number of gotaways spiked under the biden administration. per i customs and border protection data, there are more than 1.6 million gotaways between the 20211-2023 misconcern fiscal years. for comparison, 1.4 million gotways between 2010 and -- gotaways between 2010 and 2020. the latest poll shows former

becomes the center of the political universe. what's your take? >> well, a couple things on this. first of all, there's the protect the vote.com which people are signing up to be poll watchers, and they are really crushing it, and they're saying if you hear of any election impropriety, please report it right away. we know what's coming out of luzerne county, lancaster county. we've had some people who were -- their registrations were flipped, they didn't even know it, all those are being investigated right now. i will tell you this, the republicans are outpacing democrats as far as registration, outpacing them as far as getting the voter by mail applications out. now we've just got to get them returned. but the level of intensity we are seeing for donald trump, so much so, mike, that even senator john fetterman came out and told the new york times it's astonishing. people are calling my radio show telling me they're waiting in line to vote early in pennsylvania for two and a half hours the vote. it's a level of intensity we haven't seen since 2016. i would say this, compared to

2020 the when it was a surprise to all of us, mail-in ballots, this time around the are rnc and the trump campaign are ahead of the game. they're encouraging voters to vote early. they're encouraging voters to vote by mail, and they're saying we're going to be all over this. they have an army of lawyers ready to go and nothing, i mean, nothing, will be taken for granted. every single allegation is going to be pursued. mike: if it comes down to pennsylvania and it takes until friday or saturday to figure out who won pennsylvania, do you worry about those few days til it's ultimately called? >> i worry about running out of coffee, because everyone's going to be on the edge of their seat. dave mccormick running for u.s. senate, he is now tied with casey. but what's more important is all these unions that backed casey are now going if for mccormick. you've got down-ballot candidates, we have a chance to ping a senate -- pick up a senate seat. i think that we may see the kind of enthusiasm and turnout where

we may not be up that long waiting for pennsylvania. because when people are waiting hours and hours to go to donald trump rallies, when you have got during a penn state football game you've got penn state filled up with young people who support trump, that kind of enthusiasm translates into big numbers for him. now, of course, the question is suburban vote and is the enthusiasm that we're seeing, that democrats getting in line to try and stop donald trump. we don't know the answer yet, so we'll see. the one thing i can tell you, they're prepared to start counting on election day. there's an army of lawyers ready to go and hopefully we'll know, mike. mike: rich, great to have you. thanks so much. >> thank you. mike: what's next for the menendez brothers after a los angeles' district attorney recommends they be resentenced? that story's up next.gh ♪ in (♪) [child giggling with delight] (♪) come on you two. dinner time.

recommending the menendez brothers be resentenced after more than 30 years in prison for the murder of their parents. let's bring in attorney lexie rig den for more. welcome. >> thank you. mike: what's your analysis of the move there? >> i think that a lot of people are kind of outraged by this, but it's important to remember what it's not. it's not a pardon, it's not a request that they be granted time served and just simply released. what he's asking is that they become eligible for parole and that their sentence is changed so they're eligible for parole. that would not necessarily mean they would get out ott right away. what it would mean is the parole board you would ultimately make a determination about whether they could be released and if you really want to the go far down field, the next stop would be governor gavin newsom could always intervene. who know know what's going to happen there. i have no issue with the recommendation. i know people are saying it's very political, he's in the middle of a contested race for his position, you know? if that may well be true, but i don't think given the totality

of the circumstances that means that it's necessarily unfair. mike: one legal analyst says erik and lyle kid the not have to murder tear parents. i'll get you to react to it. >> how can you justify the alleged actions that the menendez boys are making to justify buying a shotgun. 18 and 211 years old -- 211 years old, they could is are gone to the police, the seek help. they got nothing. mike: what's your assessment of that? >> i agree that a there was no justification for murder. however, i do believe that had this case happened in the context of now, the alleged abuse and also their age as what they really were, were youthful offenders, essentially, one was 18, one was 221. i think that would have been taken into account then. we're moving forward as a society, so i don't think that means it shouldn't be taken into account now. as you will recall, there were
