>> ainsley: here it is, we have all read it. i have mine earmarked and lots of notes. it is fabulous. stories about being first lady, your upbringing. you have to pick it up. thank you for coming on to talk about it. congratulations. one week away, how are you feeling? how is the family? >> i feel good. my husband, he's all over the country traveling. we saw sunday evening, sunday through the day was amazing day, a lot of support out there. >> steve: you have been through the campaign cycle three times, 2016, 2020, and now. how does it compare? >> it is kind of same as 2016, the support out there is

incredible. it is just people see what is going on in the country and what kind of leadership they want. they want prosperity. they want american dream coming back. so that is what we will decide on november 5. >> steve: got that feeling. >> lawrence: you made it very clear when your husband decided to run for president, you were going to be a mother and take care of barren. you took the stage on sunday and surprised the audience, why are we seeing you more now in the final stretch? >> it was an incredible place. i love new york city and i think people to hear from me on that day, madison square garden, support we have and i want to support my husband, for him and

[applause] >> brian: i know you're like the former president, don't want to count anything before it is done. if polls are correct and you win, are you anxious to be first lady again? >> i'm not anxious, this time is different. i have more experience and knowledge. i was in the white house before, when you go in, you know what to expect. you know what kind of people you need to get, peoplel on your team that have the same vision as me. >> brian: melania, in your book, you talk about people that stabbed you in the back and let you down. how did that feel to get your voice to this story? >> it is important people hear

my story. it is a lot of misinformation and mistruths out there. that is why i wrote the book and i wish the best all these people that they go on the back and they need to heal. they need to heal. i wish them all the best. they should be there for the right reason. >> brian: that is big of you. a lot of people would be angry. >> it is betrayal, they show the world who they are and they know what they did. to tape first lady of the united states on phone calls and release to the public and edit phone calls, it is disgrace and should never happen to anybody. >> ainsley: that has to be hardest other pa. >> never happen in history to somebody that would do that. >> lawrence: do you feel there is unfinished business thea the

white house. the president wants to bring inflation down. you had projects, as well, do you feel you accomplished everything you wanted in the white house? >> we did a lot, it never ends. it is so much to do and take care of the stuff and the country and our next generation, our children. i accomplished a lot and brought the best international lease, as well. so much to do and so many new issues will come in 2025. we never know what will come and children are suffering. we need to help them and educate them. >> steve: mrs. trump, you said this campaign cycle feels like 2016 in excitement and enthusiasm and things like that. something is different. two different people tried to kill your husband and you saw it

live on television. this is all different. >> it is different. it is much more dangerous and i am very vigilant and selective where i go, what do i do, you never know. it is one person. and it is dangerous out there. >> lawrence: what do you think about the rhetoric are out there today? they are calling hem a second hitler, you know him better than anyone. >> it is terrible. he is not hitler and his supporters stand behind him because they want to see country successful. we see what kind of support he has. >> ainsley: why does he do this? we hear eric trump say my dad could be on the beach, could retire. he has buildings and businesses, why did y'all choose to do it again? >> he loves this country and he

wants to make it successful and for all of the people. he loves people and he wants to make this country great again. >> brian: was the hardest part the course cases? seeing the indictments and court cases in new york city? >> it is part of it, part of the politics. when he came to the white house first time when he was elected, i knew it would not be easy and i knew they would go after him. they did. i said, what is next. >> steve: given the fact there have been two assassination attempts, when he's at the door about to go to work, do you say something different toim had as you send him out the door? >> i always say to him, good luck and be safe. you never know what kind of phone call you will receive and what can happen in life.

championship. what were you doing wrong after great seasons and what did you understand later? >> great question. early on, i tried to do it all myself, i didn't trust my team, i wanted to hit everything. i drove to the park everyday with andy pettite, and he gave good advice and i stopped chasing stats for moments. if you have good moments that help your team win a game. it simplifies and decreases pressure. if i were judge, can you have a moment to help the team win. throwing somebody out, maybe stealing a base. >> ainsley: what was it like when you won the world series? >> nothing like it, i have two daughters, 19 and 16, they were there, my girls are here now. it is great 15 years later to share that. they were too young to appreciate the moment.
