[cheers and applause] >> trace: in the meantime kamala harris not making an appearance and still not officially accepting defeat. we began with senior national correspondent kevin corke in d.c. with a look or a closer look at some of the numbers. kevin. >> closer look indeed and you may be wondering if you have

been watching trace, bret, martha and headed we get here? walking you through tonight, if just joining us, president trump, future president trump over the 270 mark and you may ask how in the world did we end up here already at 277 and still states out there? let me show you. i have circled some of these already for you. this is how the night and for the former president and future president. one by one all these battleground states, georgia, north carolina, pennsylvania, wisconsin, i should point this out they were still some bleeding in nevada, arizona, arkansas. you are looking 20 electoral votes out there in 15 up in michigan. you realize if he wins a live them in leading in all of them, you could look at a number well over the 300 and i don't know, let's say 315 number here. let me see if i can get this and cleared out out for you.
1:03 am
there you go, let me show you michigan, my friend. he is leading with 86% already in. who would have predicted other than tyrus coming into the night the former president would possibly win every single state in the famed blue wall. he's just about to do it as you see it right now 86%. i want to share something else with you, too, trace, the senate race, i know we will talk about this a little bit more at length later on in the broadcast but let me show you this, 51 already. we still have others out there, my friend and it could just be here in montana which we talked about that you could look at another red pickup 62% too soon to call and jon tester could be going down. if that happens you are not looking at 51%, trace, 52, 53, 55 and had the g.o.p. likely will control the house, you coud

be looking at a former in future president back in office with the control of the house and the senate to do his bidding. he promised to get the economy back on track. he will have all the leverage to do just that or at least it looks that way at this hour, trace. >> trace: indeed, it does kevin corke, let's bring in female institute ke kaylee mcghe white como staff director julian epstein new york reporter lydia moynahan, welcome to all of you. the economy was the top subject and donald trump talked about it tonight. he wants this economy and he needs this thing to get back on the right track. speed so to make. >> exactly right, we can actually get something done especially with the speaker, the current speaker of the house really pushing the legislation forward to change things.
1:05 am
one of the things i think about we have a trillion dollars in credit card debt. we have 10% default rate, inflation is eating up wages. people really haven't seen much growth and that is a problem. donald trump says he will fix it. i think the question is, how do you lay out those plans for the american people in the coming days exactly what you are going to do and how you will bring this economy back and ensure the american people can live a good life again versus adding three or four jobs to make ends meet? be when we analyzed and we had an hour to look at the numbers d step we talked a lot about the t long. and all of a sudden, it turns out maybe we talk too much about the democrats. >> the democrats depending on gender gap to pull kamala harris through. i share this with you, trace coach at the first assassination attempt my own political solution, i reluctantly voted 2020 and 2016 but i was for trump this time around. you will not believe how many

throughout the election lecturing the black man about voting, you know, voting for kamala harris or maybe you're not black as they said at o one point. and then hypocrisy of paying we've got to make sure we take election seriously and have a peaceful transition and practice what you preach. here is the time to come forward and say let's have a peaceful transition. we have a clear winner let's go forward. model for the country. >> trace: wonders deep if trump derangement syndrome is a pastor is that not? >> i don't think he did so deeply ingrained and we can trace it right back, web course, 2015-2016 and nothing has been learned. you use the word contempt and that is the word i associate with elite view of suddenly donald trump that this also incredible movement that encompasses so many people. i just don't understand it. the defining characteristic for
1:08 am
trump, he is just someone who loves this country and approaches things like a pragmatic, problem sale thing business guy. how do i solve the problems in a real insult to the intellectual, academic mind-set of the ruling elite. and they find it almost impertinent impertinent how can this guy be popular and so sucha challenge to their worldview. am afraid that we will see more of it that we will also see is more and more success from this new, pragmatic, nonideological republican party focused on lifting apps working people in america and giving them opportunity periods beam and what do you think julian epstein? is there a battle to be had between the democratic party and the trump administration? do you think they will try, let's impeach, let's do this, are they pretty much out of the equity at this point in time? >> they have tried this resist
1:09 am
strategy for eight years, nine years and i don't think it is working well. i think there is evidence tonight conceding to the gram of the progressive left in messaging and policy is a big mistake. i think the democrats would be much better off trying to work with the administration on fixing the economy, particularly inflation, going after immigration with sensible policy on energy with a b ep mandates putting autoworkers out of business and to sort of work with the administration and that often brings you to the question, it was a democratic leadership, obama, pelosi, schumer, jeffries, and they all knew the performance of harris before she came into the race when biden dropped out here till they were all part of the process to cover up biden's infirmity and all part of the process to pick harris.
1:10 am
two fatefully bad decisions. i think part of the question here, does that leadership have accounting? the easiest way they can show leadership the resist of the strategy in the past didn't work well and it stopped us from putting out a firm agenda so let's find common ground and then we can find areas to differentiate but do it in a cooperative way. speed when is interesting talking about cooperation and we got sound for a lack of a better term and starting a little bit of the blame game here, watch. and people freaking out and this is not the outcome we expected it all. we were not expecting the blame game has started, but for many of us existential election kids in the belief that many of us had that trump launched insurrection. this is devastating on many different regards. >> trace: i mean, do you

kind of a postmortem to do on that? >> i think it would be too much to ask for. if the media starts actually recognizing the economy and immigration serious factors in why kamala harris lost the race, i will be overjoyed to. i don't think it is going to happen. this is the same media lying to us the past several months think the economy is great and you guys should shut up about it. they will not do introspection you're. you know what, i would not be surprised at all if the people they may do a tried to blame are not necessarily kamala harris are those in the democratic circle but elon musk, joe rogan, vladimir putin, all the usual villains will come out in full force starting tomorrow morning, mark my words. >> trace: i wonder at what point in time, maybe it was 10 minutes ago, what point in time do we hear tomorrow it should have been josh shapiro and not tim walz. if josh shapiro they would have won pennsylvania made the blue wall holds and you know it is coming. >> right now it should have been
1:14 am
josh shapiro if they wanted to have a fair shot at it. but the truth of the matter, they were looking at 750,000 uncommitted votes or votes like that across the country that took place. over 100,000 in michigan alone. tim walz said maybe we should not listen to these folks that support to israel and the palestinian folks instead appeared to paid the price for it. have a lot of jewish americans who chose not to vote for the democrats this time around and there was reporting going around saying they would be the most to make most jewish voters since ronald reagan. we sell media groups who have made same steps because enough is enough. they have him playing games far too long. people do not trust the media and the more. we see such a high interest in x to get information through elon musk platform. >> trace: the whole thing you think of elon musk and a huge contribution he made to the campaign. he is one of those guys people

lack of a better trump some bad people. >> that is something we should acknowledge and we should point out kamala harris was a terrible candidate and in relation to vice presidential pick but we should also know and make sure they history records, this is a fantastic campaign by trump and his team broadly speaking. he was amazing. he was a different person and show the sight of himself we hadn't seen in previous campaigns warm, funny more than usual in public and the messaging was incredibly clear and the closing argument kamala broke it and trump fixed it and the garbage truck and all of this test. i think it is important to note because there is a lot of criticism about this. look at the trump campaign outsourcing really important points to get out the vote. look how that turned out and look at johnny cook and his

going to pay the bills? so i think there was a big turning point early october and we saw with the early though a lack of enthusiasm and steve's point on outsourcing, i think there is a lot of truth that that. it is eight technical point that the democrats have this get out the vote machine and republicans used outsourcing. not only did you see that with groups like elon musk's apparatus, but ralph reed's faith and family. you had one of the faith and freedom organization. they intentionally endorsed and that is extraordinary. i think democrats will look at the technical things at the republicans used, elon musk "faith and freedom efforts and learned some lessons from it. >> trace: it seems to me, libya it came down to enthusiasm and i remember 9/11 this past 9/11 we were singing, joe biden and kamala harris walked into shanksville to a fire station
1:19 am
and people looked at them and they started their conversations again. donald trump walks in two hours later the very same fireplace and the place erupts and you talk about enthusiasm? >> yeah, i was actually there tonight at the convention center. i never felt anything like it. the commitment you see from his base to donald trump is something that is really in parallel and political history. it is so interesting, too, of course, donald trump a billionaire in some ways leading a very different lifestyle than a lot of his supporters is a lot of authenticity and able to connect with people in such a more meaningful way than we saw kamala harris due on the trail. he was continually putting himself in these situations where you can have the special moments. the final days, he was doing as many as four rallies a day. though he put himself out there, a course, one of the things from the sources just how he was able to build this coalition.
1:20 am
one thing i think he did really well the cycle was really expand the tenant. we sell this at the rnc, they were open to anyone who wanted to be a part of what they were doing and he brought in rfk jr., tulsi gabbard and really a new generation of folks who believe in his message. that is why people are heartened by this because it has longevity. >> trace: and he was saying, what do you think about tulsi gabbard as president some day? they are bringing face up like hey, i know i am here but what you think about this? we have time to go around the horn one more time. it seems like former president trump is looking forward. >> it reminds me one thing he said a few days ago joe biden made a garbage, it, you can't lead the american people if you don't love the american people. that is exactly right. donald trump truly loves the country and i don't think anybody will argue against that. any interest means the american.

thing to see at this result is just making everyone feel so incredibly proud to be anything to do with this incredible movement. >> john. >> as we celebrate this moment with john leaving the republican party but the country as well i'm reminded that we have j.d. vance and i'm excited to see how he will really deploy him because as we know donald trump can only serve four years. so in effect a transitional figure for a new generation of leadership. i'm excited to see what that will look like. >> trace: jillian, 20 seconds now. >> democrats used to be pro-growth economy but changed and now about redistributionist economy on the welfare state and the housing entitlements and this sort of 30 capable loans. democrats were talking about basically buying votes through the antigovernment welfare state. that is not what working-class voters want that they want a president who will protect the economy and grow the economy so they can do it on their own.
1:23 am
>> trace: lydia, 20 seconds. >> one think that is important is the message trump said in his victory speech. a lot of folks one drink will this be an angry speech or dark speech which marked the first thing he said is he wants to heal the nation and so i think this evening where a lot of people are thrilled and a lot of people are upset. they think that is a very hopeful and promising message that he does want to heal any does want to bring the country together. >> trace: thank you all. coming up the liberal media already melting down over trump's big win tonight. we are going to talk about that.
