2:17 am
more. >> chanley: jurors will hear from prosecutor witness number 17 today. key eyewitness told the jury she felt her life was in danger when jordan neely who was homeless, on drugs and suffering from mental illness entered the car and made threats. he was saying, i don't care if i die, kill me, lock me up, i will go to jail for life. there was a moment, i thought i was going to die. everyone was frozen. she feared jordan neely may have had a weapon and was relieved when daniel penny intervened. her testimony echoing another female passenger who recalled jordan neely raising his fist before penny stepped in to stop jordan neely from trying to attack everybody. another witness who arrived as penny was releasing jordan neely from the choke hold testified that penny told him not to try to help jordan neely after

2:19 am
years. a judge said biden administration does not have the authority to put something like this into effect. what do you think about the ruling and the program itself? >> i think the ruling is right, i don't think the program is good. i think you will see a lot of things joe biden did overturned. certainly going to be overturned by president trump on executive order when he gets into office. i spoke to border patrol agent yesterday and asked if he was happy with the outcome of the election, he said, you have no idea how happy we are. they want to get back to work and do their job. stop the bleeding. this has been a disastrous four years at the border. going back to your question, carley, there is a lot of work that needs to be done by congress and senate, but right now, we have to secure the border. >> carley: donald trump's day one priority is to fix the broken border. left wing groups are already
2:20 am
ready to fight policies telling n. n.p.r., we're been preparing and have advocacy tools and the people. this is something he faced during his first four years in office and it did slow things down when it comes to building the border wall. what do you think? he says he wants to fix it issue other groups have something else in mind. what happens here? >> no question, there will be a lot of groups stepping up. in arizona, we passed proposition 314, making it if you are here in state of arizona illegally, it is against the law on state level now. we'll have a ton of groups challenging that, as well, i'm sure texas will continue to have that. we'll have a justice department that will admire to constitution and responsibility to american people to secure our country, fix immigration and border issues and so while there is challenges, we have to push
2:21 am
forward and do -- get it fixed for the american people. >> carley: dive into that are m, prop 314 gives local law enforcement power to enforce immigration law, which is a federal responsibility. people are fed up saying the federal government did not do it for four years, we'll now hand it over to sheriffs and police officers and give them authority to arrest illegal immigrants. how does that change things in arizona moving forward? >> i would love to clarify, this does not, much to what critics think we can just go out and arrest everybody, that is not the case. it restrictive, we have to see people or caught on camera crossing and if they are dressed in camouflage shoes, five people in the trunk of a car, this is what happens when people are
2:22 am
being smuggled and can apply the law there. it is very restrictive. we have to see how they will fund it, we will carry the burden. i love people of arizona saw the need, 60 something percent saw need to intervene because federal government was not doing their job. this is more border security, more than fixing the immigration issue. >> carley: there is a caravan of 3000 people forming in mexico trying to cross into the u.s. before donald trump enters office, we'll watch and see what the next three months looks like when it comes to our southern border. >> carley: thanks for joining us, have a great day. president elect trump making history again naming first female chief of staff as he looks to fill the rest of his cabinet. >> todd: plenty names swirling around, acting attorney general matt whitaker, is he in line for

>> carley: lgs little fighting, calling out bernie sanders. dnc chair jamie harrison says this is straight up bs, biden was the most pro-worker president of my lifetime, he saved union pension, created jobs and marched a picket line. there are post-election takes and this one ain't a good one. >> todd: nancy pelosi says the loss is heartbreaking. a podcast host revealing what she heard from the former speaker after the defeat. >> she talked about the fact this was a heartbreaking los, she used that word and said she has spoken to the vice president
2:29 am
and it was a very emotional conve conversation, that they are friends and that conversation was difficult for both of them. >> todd: she appeared to be on the virge of tears during harris' concession speech, there is a shot there. new "new york post" capturing the moment, blue-hoo. donald trump made his first major decision naming suzie wile, writing suzie wile was integral part of my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns. suzie is you have to, smart, innovative and respected, it is well-deserved honor to have suzie as first ever female chief of staff in united states history. i have no doubt she will make
2:30 am
our country proud. >> carley: she was an advisor to tudor dixon and tudor dixon joins us now. suzie wile is rarely seen in the media, she's made a huge impact in republican politics. tell us more about her and how she will serve donald trump as white house chief of staff? >> she's seen because she has no ego, she is an amazing woman, perfect combination of italian and toughness, she does not let any shenanigans go on around her. she does not try to control her boss. she was originator of let trump be trump. she did not shy away from long-form interviews, did not shy from the mcdonald's experience, garbage man experience, she knew trump had a way of meeting people where they are and reaching people and embraced that.
2:31 am
she does not let people do anything around him. electioners and shenanigans, that is not going to happen. she is you have to, talented and people respect her. people are overwhelmed with excitement to see this historic pick. she will be incredible and she's a winner. >> todd: are you concerned about her lack of time in d.c.? she did spend time in 1979 and 1980 and obviously she's been back, she is a operative at this point. will that hurt? >> what a blessing to not have experience with people in the swamp. she'll go in and they are afraid of her. this woman just ran a fortune 500 company overnight and she
2:32 am
was incredibly successful at it. this is best case scenario for united states of america. we don't want someone going in that made deals with people and has loyalty to people. suzie wile is going in for the american people and that most exciting news about this administration. >> carley: it will be interesting to see donald trump fill out his cabinet and who he selects for key positions. 2016, he says a lot of people did not serve him well. you have tweets from congressman j jared moscow tdz congrats to suzie wile, she is brilliant, tough, strategic, she will serve our country well, that is coming from a democrat. with selections like this, does it indicate there will be less drama when it comes to staffing around donald trump during his next administration? >> absolutely. we are all so excited about what
2:33 am
is going on in this next administration. it will be the most historic administration in the history of the country. i know he's bringing together an amazing team. suzie will help with that. suzie, i have to tell my personal experience, she is always available, always willing to sit down with you and go through every scenario and help you play out what is best thing to do for yourself and for the people. this is going to be the most amazing administration the country has ever seen because of the combination of donald trump, suzie wile and j.d. vance. i cannot tell you anything about this other than you are going to be amazed and overwhelmed by what is going to happen. >> todd: what a rubbing of salt in the wounds this is to the left, after mark cuban said donald trump does not surround himself with strong and
2:34 am
intelligent women, donald trump appoints first ever female staff and somebody tudor dixon is a huge fan of. bring in former acting attorney general matt whitaker. rumors are you are in the running for attorney general alongside paxton, john ratcliffe and utah senator mike lee. matt, do you want the job? >> one person will determine that and that is donald j trump, who just won a landslide election. he wants someone he knows, likes and trusts, someone that has been there from will beginning, been unwaivering in their ability to defend donald trump against lawfare nonsense. the attorney general will have to go to the department of justice and fix a lot of things that are broken and change the
2:35 am
culture back to basic blocking and tackling that it is known for, national security, law and order, rule of law, principles the department of justice has gotten far away from. >> todd: we will take that as a strong maybe. the left is threatening to stymie trump's agenda through the court. last 48 hours we heard gavin newsom, pritzker, phil murphy, governor of new jersey and leticia james pretending to talk tough, we are going to fight donald trump every step of the way and phil murphy even saying to the death. what do you expect them to try and how does whoever leads the trump doj get to sprespond. >> expect they will act in the interest of citizens and american people, and people want donald trump to be successful.
2:36 am
anyone trying to resist donald trump's agenda that works for american people and families is working against interest of their fellow citizens. doj needs to go into blue cities and work cooperatively with local police and sheriff's deputies to bring about public safety and make sure gun criminals are taken off the streets and make sure we participate in deportation operation that is going to make everyone safer and more secure. >> todd: there are trump's cases against him, "wall street journal" editorial board said jack smith lost in people's court and trump deserves a clean legal slate. federal cases are again, the civil and criminal still exist. should they be removed, destroyed, done away with, matt? what say you? >> the fulton county case is
2:37 am
dead, they will look at massive conflict and trial court decision and take it out of fulton county. that case will be gone, in my opinion. new york city case, big hearing, as you know, to look at immunity issue. if judge was fair-mented, he would look at supreme court decision on immunity and admit he allowed evidence that should not have been admitted and redo it. in interest of successful america, all of these judges and prosecutors should dismiss these cases, give president trump a clean slate and allow him to work on behalf of the american people. we have massive problems, as you know, todd. we have inflation, we have crime, unsecure border, big lifts for president trump. he's obviously going to
2:38 am
accomplish all the goals he's laid out probably quicker than anyone can imagine. he needs to have people, especially in blue cities, that are willing to work with him. >> todd: 100%. if they don't dismiss these cases, they'll bes toed on appeal, they do not stand merit. quick programming note, iowa and ucla played 9 p.m. eastern on fox, i'll bet your team wins. thank you for your time. >> go, hawks. >> todd: trump's victory impacting our economy with one major company pulling production out of china. cheryl casone will break down the trump effect next. >> carley: and top dog in one kentucky town, a beloved canine named boone, has been elected mayor. boone and his family will join us next to tell us how this happened, coming up next.

2:45 am
2026. this point, he will likely finish his term, that is the law. mr. trump was talking to maria in february and said he thought sometimes he was political, he's made some jabs at jerome powell. they did cut interest rates by a quarter point. >> carley: we know where he stands on finishing out his term. >> todd: i'm told steve madden boots are made for walking and that is what they are doing right out of china thanks to trump's victory. that was good, great. >> cheryl: a for effort on that one. a lot of folks said the one thing you can bet on that donald trump is going to do when he gets back into office, more china tariffs. china, yeah, that is going to happen, he's been threatening up
2:46 am
to 60% on chinese products. steve madden says they will slash china sourcing up to 45%, this is the ceo, we are putting that plan in motion, the percentage will come down, we are going forward. i want to say here, it is not -- you would think, they are going to quit producing in china and come back to the u.s., that is not likely going to happen. a lot of supplies come from china, you will have to go to vietnam or cambodia, brazil because of supply chain, not just production of the shoe, think about the rubber that goes under the shoe and fabric, those are different components. >> carley: maybe not made in america when all said and done, we'll wait to see. >> todd: don't miss cheryl on mornings with maria. stick around. results are in, rabbit hash

2:49 am
points, boone's campaign slogan, have a drink at noon and vote for boone. is day drinking the reason for such a large margin of victory? >> i don't think so, we changed it from have a beer at noon to a drink so all the kids could be involved, too. >> todd: the incumbent is a french bulldog, do we expect a smooth transition of power? >> yes, he's supported boone the entire high. >> todd: you are buying votes but here it is allowed for a good cause, it is allowed. neu neur neuroe neuroendocrineshg cancer day. nice to have levity and see charities are beneficiary. boone, congratulations on your victory and thank you for joining us. as yankee fan, it is nice to see

on. it wassen exciting night. we didn't know until, you know, well after the polls closed. but it was an exciting opportunity. got to share the moment with my family, my dad was there. and three of my four kids were there as well. my youngest was home with my mother-in-law because he is only three years old. it was an exciting thing. it was an exciting opportunity for my family. more than that, it's an excitement about what this opportunity is for our country, to be able to put in place policies that are going to help the families in my district, in districts across the country, to really put our country back on the right track. about 80% of americans feel the country is going in the wrong direction. i share that feeling with them. and i want to do my best to do my part to put the country back on the right track and deliver results. >> carley: tom, when it comes to michigan, this is something that i don't understand and i'm sure a lot of republicans out there are disappointed by is you won the house seat that was once held by elissa slotkin. donald trump of course won the

state of michigan. elissa slotkin who is a democrat won the senate seat against mike rogers who is one of the most competent people running for office. the former chair of the house intel committee, he ended up losing. why do you think that happened? >> you know, sometimes in these races it's hard to really determine a reason why, but i can say that elissa slotkin very early spent quite a sum of money and then later the senate leadership fund started putting money into michigan, you know, probably some time in and around early or mid october. i just wonder if they had started that sooner if maybe the results would have been different. the margins between elissa slotkin and mike rogers was only maybe 15,000 votes or so, according to unofficial results yesterday. you know, that's a razor thin margin. and i wonder if maybe an earlier investment on behalf of mike rogers would have really helped carry the day in that senate

race. as you said, president trump carried the state, were able to win this competitive district and mike fell just short. i mean just barely short of winning that. >> carley: he wasn't able to cross the finish line. we mentioned you are an army veteran. we thank you so much for your service. there has been a push to elect veterans into office. and now you have achieved that. foreign policy, of course, is going to be a major change when it comes from how president biden handled it to now how donald trump will. and there is a new reported that reveals trump will want to put maximum pressure against iran, once again it. should come as no surprise. but the "wall street journal" is reporting president-elect donald trump plans to drastically increase sanctions on iran and throttle its oil sales as parts of an aggressive strategy to undercut tehran's support of violent middle east proxies and its nuclear program according to people his early plans. what is your reaction to that. >> i fully support the maximum pressure on iran. we know that it works.

we only have to look back to a few years ago when iran was really on the brink of, you know of economic, you know, cause of concern. almost collapse really. they weren't able to fund terrorist cells, things like that. as you mentioned my background in the army. that's one of the greatest points of pride for me is the decades that i spent in the united states army. my service there spanned the entire two decades of the war on terror. i have stood face to face with terrorists in guantanamo bay. i know that we have to take the threat seriously. we have to take the threat from iran seriously. there is still, today, out attempting to assassinate president trump. so we have to take the threat seriously for all americans and for our allies around the world. and we need to provide. >> carley: thank you so, tom barrett. have great weekend. we have to leave it there. ha"fox & friends" starts right
