>> greg: out of time, thank you to our guests, our studio audience, "fox news at night" with the dreamy trace gallagher is next. i love you, america. [cheering and applause] >> trace: good evening, i'm trace gallagher. 11:00 p.m. on the east coast, 8:00 in los angeles and this is america's late news, "fox news @
8:01 pm
night". breaking tonight, republican lawmakers now confirming a report that says after hurricane milton, a fema supervisor told disaster relief workers in florida to avoid homes with trump signs in their yards. fema says it believes the incident as isolated and the supervisor who gave the anti-trump order is no longer in that role. plus... >> let me ask you, how are you leaning this election? >> after what you said, trump. >> trace: also tonight, charlie kirk joins us live to explain how the turning point ground game may have turned the tide for trump and brought a new wave of gen z voters. >> about time there was a message sent that enough is enough, you can't do whatever you want. >> trace: amid all of this trump momentum, the justice department says it stopped an iranian plot to kill
8:02 pm
donald trump in the run-up to election day. we begin with reports of alarming new information about more blatant bias where the federal agency in charge of emergency response allegedly tried to offer disaster relief based on political preference. senior national correspondent kevin corke is live in d.c. with what we are learning about this tonight. >> reporter: quite a story. imagine if you had been impacted by a major storm, hoping the government, you know, the 1 that you send your taxpayer funds to, will aid in your recovery. only to discover that if you support donald trump, they are going to ignore you altogether. that is apparently what happened in the great state of florida where a fema supervisor allegedly told workers in a message to avoid homes advertising trump as they canvassed lake placid, florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid. and tonight, credit where credit is due, that fema official has been removed from her role by the agency.
8:03 pm
in a statement to fox news digital, a fema spokesperson said the agency is deeply disturbed, noting the official who gave the instruction was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes "while we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again." in washington, lawmakers on capitol hill, crediting fema for responding quickly, writing on x, my office has been in contact with fema about this, it is true, i'm grateful fema is taking action to address it, but we will closely monitor to ensure this can never happen again. fema is there to help, not discriminate. sources on capitol hill meantime tell fox tonight it is expected that lawmakers will compel fema leadership to testify about the incident in the coming weeks. we will keep an eye on that but for now back to you. >> trace: we will, kevin corke
8:04 pm
live in d.c., thank you. let's bring in california run -- young republicans president, former house oversight chairman and fox news contributor jason chaffetz and democratic congressman from washington, adam smith. thank you for coming on. jason chaffetz to you first, this report, i want to put this up on the screen, this is the congresswoman from florida who said this on x, this is a huge scandal, while people were dying and in need of help, a fema employee decided people who support president trump are not worthy of it. this is outrageous and should be investigated and punished to every extent of the law. i mean it's not just divisive and unethical and illegal, it is stupid, jason. what do you think? >> yeah, lives are on the line. look, fema did the right thing by removing this person. it doesn't mean they have been fired, this person needs to be fired, they need to be prosecuted. they need to know how many people this director went out to, how many people adhered to the directive and just got in line and followed orders. who was harmed by this.
8:05 pm
how many lawsuits are going to start lining up in that area where they did not get help because they had a trump sign out front, and how many other people did this. this is a story that is beginning. it will go to the oversight committee of which i used to chair. they are all over this in the house and they've got to get after it. this is so outrageous and disgusting. >> trace: congressman smith, even if it was -- they said it was isolated. if it was 1 person, 1 family that needed help and did not get help because they had a trump sign on their front yard, what are your thoughts on this? >> i don't disagree, it should not happen and sadly there are idiots everywhere and they need to be held accountable. it sounds like that is what is happening. it sounds like they should take steps to make sure it does not happen again and that is certainly what they should do. >> trace: let's move on to the actual politics of the election night. i want to look at this blue state shift.
8:06 pm
california shifted quite a bit. republicans puzzle leaven, new york plus 11, new jersey plus 11, massachusetts plus 10, illinois plus 8, virginia plus 5 republican. some of these, some of these states, ariana assenmacher, could be in play in future elections. >> definitely. as we saw in california, 10 counties flipped from blue to red in the election just a few days ago. so it's been an amazing shift. if you look at an overall map of the 50 states, i believe only washington did not vote more red this time. >> trace: it's incredible. jason, back to you, doug burgum on the trump talent pool he has to choose from. watch. >> the talent showing up, what is different from 2016 when president trump won unexpectedly, i mean now every
8:07 pm
position he has, there's 20 qualified people banging on the door wanting to get a job and i know that president trump and his team, fantastic choice, they will have the pick of the litter. >> trace: should be the letter 18, right? >> yeah, it's markedly different in 2016. the president has been in office. he knows how to do this. they have gotten a running start and the president is already moving, putting out statements on things he wants to do and directives and it's backed up with a mandate. such a convincing page win. that mandate puts wind behind his sales and the fact that they have such a good majority now in the senate certainly bodes well. we will see how the house plays out but i think there will be a majority in the house as well. >> trace: congressman, back to the headline, saying harris-biden camps blame each other for the loss, going on to say "former biden stafford just missed the harris team's criticisms is making excuses for
8:08 pm
the vice president failures." how did you spend 1 billion and not win? you naturally believe in a victory of this size, there's going to be some fighting inside the tent, correct? >> sure. before we get overly excited here, i think the president is going to wind up winning by a point. the house is going to be probably 220, 221. this is a close election and i hope that we will try to include everybody in that process. this isn't ronald reagan 1984 or richard nixon 1972. it's a lot closer as i have said publicly over the last few days. democratic party has some major problems we need to address. as far as the whole biden-harris drama is concerned, i think president biden and his team did an enormous disservice to the country by insisting that president biden run again. i wish they would stop with all
8:09 pm
of the petty bickering and everything, acknowledge that and focus on what we need to do now on the policies to make the democratic party, you know, fix some of our key policy limitations. >> trace: ariana, "the wall street journal" says trump has found another way to appeal to latino voters, treat them like everybody else, especially the working class, voters who worry about the cost-of-living, want a strong economy, think too many people are crossing the border without permission and don't think social issues like gender identity are paramount, and that really is all they want. >> true. with over 10 million illegal immigrants crossing the border under the harris-biden administration, which includes over 1.9 million got a ways, it's very clear that the american people felt safer under resident trump and rejected a california liberal who has failed basically at the border. >> trace: rejection is the word of the week.
8:10 pm
ariana, congressman smith, jason chaffetz, thank you. meantime attorney general merrick garland issuing a warning about the great threat iran poses to u.s. national security after the justice department stopped a plot to kill donald trump in the weeks leading up to the election. christina coleman is live with brand-new information on this. good evening. >> reporter: good evening trace. a lot of disturbing details here. the justice department revealing a thwarted iranian murder-for-hire plot to kill president-elect donald trump. the fbi believes a 51-year-old afghan national worked with iran's revolutionary guard on the murder plot and now the feds are searching for him. a criminal complaint filed today says he's a former new york resident now living in tehran, he ran and that he immigrated to the u.s. as a child but was later deported in 2008 after serving 14 years in new york state prison for robbery. you get this, the feds believe he currently has a network of
8:11 pm
criminal associates residing in the new york area that he developed during his time in prison, attorney general merrick garland said in a statement "there are few actors in the world that pose as grave a threat to the national security of the united states as does iran. the justice department has charged an asset of the iranian regime who was tasked by the regime to direct a network of criminal associates to further iran's assassination plots against it's targets, including president-elect donald trump. ." the fbi has had donald trump has been 1 of iran's targets since he ordered the target of the iranian national guard leader back in january of 2020. >> trace: thank you. there's breaking news tonight on 2 brazen attacks against. 1 of them here at home. the other in amsterdam where jewish soccer fans were attacked by anti-israel protesters. and in chicago, de paul university confirming 2 jewish students were assaulted. chanley painter is live in new york with more on both of those stories.
8:12 pm
>> reporter: let's start and chicago where police have released these images of two suspects wanted for attacking two jewish students who were showing their support for israel in front of the student center at de paul university in what police are describing as a battery/hate crime. they say the suspects made anti-semitic remarks before repeatedly striking the victims. the president of de paul, one of the many schools across the country with active anti-israel protests earlier this year, said this "we are outraged that this occurred on our campus, it is completely unacceptable and a violation of de paul's values to uphold and care for the dignity of every individual." let's go to amsterdam were overnight five people were hospitalized and more than 60 arrested following a coordinated and systematic attack by anti-semitic rioters targeting israeli fans following a soccer match between the two countries.
8:13 pm
>> it was very frightening. i saw people get beaten, i saw people get inside hotels unlock themselves, i saw people -- they throw people into the freezing water. they drove on people, they step on people. it was like the 1940s. >> reporter: the attacks have been widely condemned by israeli and dutch politicians. the israeli government even sending a rescue plane to amsterdam to return it's citizens home after the violence. >> trace: chanley painter live in new york, thank you. let's bring in idf first sergeant and is really special operations veteran aaron cohen, thank you for coming on. fox news digital said the following here, act of war. by demonstration under pressure to respond to iran's plot to kill. they said it would be an act of war, we have so far heard crickets but you know there is a lot of belief over there about trump is coming into office and this will all change.
8:14 pm
>> reporter: so i've talked a lot about signaling with you over the last year and here's where i met with that. donald trump, president-elect trump, he does not speak arabic or hebrew but let me tell you he speaks the language of the middle east. i think you are starting to see the reverberations of what that will mean for iran because iran knows that the moment he gets sworn in, maximum pressure is coming. they can make all the threats that they want but really this is about containing individual assassins, the doj just released that report about the individual that wanted to kill trump, and it's really about keeping that bubble around trump. i'd be building that program out for the president. i really think iran at this point is posturing and that's rule 101 in intelligence, they are talking because they are intimidated. >> trace: i think that's fair. izzy ezagui to you, i know you just got back from lebanon so the two questions i have for you, trump into office and on
8:15 pm
day one you have hamas coming out and saying the fighting needs to end, it needs to end in the north, the south, needs to end period. how is lebanon and what do you think about hamas saying its time to move on? >> i think it's a sign of things to come. we are clearly moving in the right direction. i can tell you that already when i was there on the ground it was much quieter than last year in gaza. it did not feel as frightening on the ground, there were munitions exploding in the air above us, the ground quaking from the close calls. but hezbollah was already kind of turning tale and running and i think trump getting elected will only push things further in that direction. >> trace: so you are saying that in lebanon you think there are signs that this thing is starting to taper off? >> i mean war ebbs and flows. when i was there, that week i was inside, which to be fair i mostly spent underground in the terror tunnels, it was relatively quiet as far as personnel on the ground. i did not come face-to-face with the enemy. that could change in a day but
8:16 pm
for the time being that is what it feels like, like they are on the run. >> trace: meantime, israeli soccer fans in amsterdam attacked. we saw chanley painter laying that it for us, jewish students at de paul university. clearly they knew they were jewish student so this was an anti-semitic attack. it just seems like here we go. >> will listen, if you allow calls for rhetoric regarding hamas go untouched on these campuses for a year, what he did we expect was going to happen? talking about what happened in amsterdam, here's where i am at with that. israeli authorities, intelligence authorities contacted dutch law-enforcement officials to warn them about a group, palestinian pro-hamas group that was planning to have a major gathering outside of that soccer game. it was shut down by authorities.
8:17 pm
however, they acknowledges really intelligences request -- they ignored is really intelligences request to put insecurity to support the israelis to their hotels. the moment they got out of the soccer match, law enforcement had disappeared. going back though, october of 2024, a jerusalem -- the jerusalem post put out an article talking about how the dutch police are not interested in protecting jewish communities because they feel it's a conflict of interest. and so they ignored the intelligence and look what happens. >> trace: our friend rabbi chaim mentz sent us a note yesterday saying this is coming to our country, and it might be. netanyahu fired israeli defense minister for all intents and purposes. what do you think about that and is that a sign that things are getting more tents in israel politically, meaning less tents in the war department? >> i can't speak to the political situation and why
8:18 pm
netanyahu chose to fire the defense minister, but i can speak to the character of the man himself. as a friend and as a leader. when he was a general shortly after i was wounded he took me under his wing, brought me into his home. i would barbecue with his family. he changed the bloody bandages on my wounds with his own hands and most importantly he was the one who returned me to combat despite the loss of my arm, at great risk to himself politically. he did not have to do that and i think that speaks to his character as a leader and a person and obviously that is a great loss to the prime minister. maybe he has reasons i don't know about but he was a good man. >> trace: izzy, we are glad you are safe, aaron cohen, great to have you on the show, thank you. they were shaving kamala harris to reporters while they were telling everyone else not a time for open president --

process. then we find out when kamala harris, when the biden campaign becomes the harris campaign, that the biden campaign's own internal polling at the time when they were telling us he was the strongest candidate showed that donald trump was going to win 400 electoral votes. >> trace: the monday morning quarterback and continues over how wrong some left-leaning polling experts were about the election. let's bring in mark mitchell, great to have you back on the show. this is from the "washington examiner", it says "only two polls called the popular vote nearly exactly. both had the final vote is 49 for president-elect donald trump, 46 for harris. nice work and good work, but overall the polling was just her rent is and useless. >> and i will tell you what, they were countering the fake mainstream narrative that harris was winning. anyone following them new in the fall of 2021 that trump would

win this thing. it's great that the "wall street journal" got trump plus three as well but they only put three pulls out, only two had trump winning, we've been putting out poll after poll for a month showing that donald trump was winning this thing and not only that, we did so well in the states i don't think anybody could have done better unless they were given the answers. we called 13 out of the 14 states, one was michigan and that was tough, a toss up. 11 out 14 polls within the margin of error and our average error was less than a point and it lean harris. how is that for our right wing pollster? >> trace: this is the final "new york times" swing state polling. look at this. they had kamala harris almost running the board. they did give trump arizona, the rest were either tied or it was harris. i know the times hates trump but they should close down there polling unit. this is one of those things where it's almost unacceptable to be that far off. >> it was really everybody because even
8:21 pm
"the wall street journal" that called the national popular vote correctly only show trump winning two of the battlegrounds. we had trump winning six and i said in a video on youtube that if he outperformed our polls at all, he would sweep them. so there we are, but every single news outlet, every single polling statistical modeler, they all put out a map that showed that kamala harris was winning and they all lied and said the race was too close to call. >> trace: what about these independent companies i capless intel which for the second year in a row really spot on, across the board. what do you make of them? kudos to them and others need to look at their methodologies? >> we put out more polling them then -- then them. they are good, that's fine. i think independent pollsters are the way forward. if it is just us, trafalgar and atlas and an eye fight every cycle i think that is better for everyone. >> trace: "the wall street journal" said polling is broken but it doesn't
