arizona? similar story four years ago. nevada you got trump winning by 3.2 points. 2020 that was biden territory and i tell you, you can go all over this map and compare the vote from 2020 with the vote from 2024. generally speaking anywhere between three and six points, could be two or seven. generally between three and six points is the difference trump made over biden from four years ago. nevada fits that pattern and so does arizona. trump with a win by 5.7 percentage points and right now that again is right within the margin of six points. generally speaking that is the tale of this election and the way trump was able to flip it. maricopa county very important. 60% of the entire vote in arizona from maricopa county. this was not donald trump's territory four years ago. it is, however, this year in

this veterans day the new york city veterans day parade is the biggest event of the day. this year the grand marshal is the veteran of both iraq and afghanistan. he was awarded the highest medal for acts of valor in 2009. he was just 21 years old that day. mission was to train afghan army troops and then some heavily armed taliban fighters cornered a group of soldiers, he defied orders and tried to bring them back. heroism saved dozens of lives and also helped recover bodies of four missing men from his unit and honored to have dakota meyer who joins us now. >> it is exciting. to come to new york city. this patriotic city that loves its veterans, loves its service members and come out and represent the greatest demographic of human beings that our country has to offer not

only the nation but to offer the globe for the security. >> dana: interesting it comes not even a week after an election that had been really divisive up until the moment it was decided and to be able to have everybody come together and celebrate veterans today must be something special. >> the united states there is no country on the face of the planet that loves its service members like the united states of america. to be able to be part of that group and able to represent it today in new york city is an honor. >> bill: take you back 13 years ago. you have this moment crystallized in your head. >> i realize the past two years haven't been easy for you retelling the story of that day and standing here today. you are very modest young man. but as you said, you do it for a simple reason, retelling the story because it helps you to honor those who didn't come home and are remind your -- you are fighting every single day.

>> look, that is what it's about, right? how do we go out and still advocate for the greater good? the sheer strength of the american military that protects all of our values here to be able to vote the way that you want to and believe the way you want to, to be able to practice the religion you want to. it is protected by the sheer strength of the american citizens who not only believe in democracy but willing to take action and protect and defend it. the men and women who wear the uniform. to be able to go out and continue to advocate for them and to be able to show that. what i want people to do this veterans day is look at the veterans and military and see that the power of unity of coming together for a common belief of the greater good is what we all have amongst us as americans. this country is the only country where us as service members we raise our right hand and swear and oath to a piece of paper, the constitution of the united states. not to a person or king not to a queen.

we do it to the constitution. it says we the people. we the people are the true strength of this country and i think we've seen that over and over again when we get frustrated with a system, we get ustrat with a political side, it still comes back to there is no single seat in our political government or anything that is going to have more power than we the people. >> dana: last week we had someone on who suggested don't just thank a veteran for your service today but ask them their story. for you, for those of us who didn't serve but admire and thank and are grateful. what are things we can do on a day like today and all the other days of the year to be grateful and thankful? >> the biggest thing i would ask anybody in the country to do is live a life worthy of the sacrifices of the men and women who gave up so much for these ideas we get to have here today. we can sit and not agree on anything or we can sit here and choose to focus and find the things that we do agree on that america.

york, new jersey border. the fire is 0% contained so far in new jersey. we could use some rain. >> dana: indeed. florida governor ron desantis is holding the biden administration accountable over the scandal engulfing fema demanding the safekeeping of all evidence related to the agency employee who ordered storm crews to avoid homes with trump signs. steve harrigan has the latest. >> fema is going to come under investigation not just in florida but also in congress next week as well. this is for the admission that emergency aid workers deliberately skipped houses with trump signs in the wake of hurricane milton. the fema administrator will appear next tuesday in congress. she has already post evidence this is a clear violation of fema's core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation. this was reprehensible and says the supervisor responsible has already been fired.

this story, this possibility? >> when it broke in the last couple of days. outrageous the biden administration, fema administration would be administering fema aid in a political manner. we've seen the poll itization of and we've seen it from the department of justice and now fema, disaster aid is typically something very bipartisan. what i hope the oversight committee will do is subpoena this supervisor that was fired, put her under oath and ask her who was giving her this directive from washington, d.c. allegedly text messages from quote, unquote, washington, d.c. to this superviseor advising them to skip homes with trump signs in front of them. i want to know how far up into the fema administration this goes. where else in the country this was happening? my district has been hit with three hurricanes in three months. i have people with personal belongings on the road. still have people with debris on the road and if this

washington, d.c. to the superviseor advising and directing them to do this. somebody higher up in fema was advising the people on the ground to do this. if it was happening in lake placid i guarantee it is happening in other places in florida and the country. the oversight committee needs to get in the bottom of this. the person who was fired is the first stop put them under oath and ask them who was directing her to do this. >> bill: ron desantis sent this out on x. this is another reason why the biden-harris administration is in its final days. did you reflect on that last point there coming off this election? >> the other great thing. yeah, the great thing about election results. donald trump will be president and we'll get to the bottom of it. somebody in his administration will take over fema and do its own investigation after the biden-harris administration is out of there. we'll get the answers at some
